Since Arron Franklin publishe his books on BBQ and his place opened the quality and consistancy around the state has improved considerably. The chain bbq places have even gotten better.
Great episode!! While lists are fun there are plenty of great bbq joints not on them! Touring Texas and beyond eating at bbq joints finding what YOU like is a blast. Thanks for highlighting these businesses!
I’m from Llano Texas born and raised but live in Austin at the moment and we are famous for our Immans kitchen, coopers BBQ and our small town is very famous for our food and sight seeings since we are the deer capital of Texas.
I remember the album cover with Stevie ray vaughn on it, been to the establishment 4 times in my life and I haven’t found any better brisket on earth yet!! RIP SRV
There's actually 5 different bbq zones in Texas.. I tried them all.. But the south zone is my favorite! From San Antonio down to the RGV.. Between Corpus Christi and Laredo..
Corkscrew used to be in a shack on Budde Rd in Montgomery county part of Spring, TX, next to a car detailing and tinting place. People started lining up at about 8:00 am every day they were open.
Snow is my favorite, you can't cook away from the kitchen. The secret to good barbecue is time. If you have to put sauce on the meat is not good barbecue. Kinda like cookies good steak. But a good sauce never takes away from the meat.
So..we're full time rv last year we stayed in Texas for about 4 months..we got to the point that if we wanted to find good bq places we would just cruise down the rd and roll down our window..that's how you find the best places..and always check ✔️ the parking lot
I’m so glad seeing him mention that about the meat quality grade of brisket. Getting sick of the pretentious attitude of some of the bbq folks toward things like that. Best brisket I’ve ever had, the guy buys his at 2:30 am at Walmart. Good video. 👍
A link from Patillo's in Beaumont is amazing. Just make sure you don't have anything important to do the rest of the day since it's packed to the casing with garlic.
As a lifelong Texan i think you should make a GPS based App. to let us know when we're in the area of these places. An App. that let's truck drivers know if there's parking available would be sweet! Just saying, you can see how skinny we are that we need sustenance!
The Texas Trinity is actually moist/point brisket, sausage (I prefer Southside Market Hot Guts) and beef/Dino ribs. Keep your phone handy though. If the Food Network or The Cooking Channel has any clue, they’ll be calling soon.
Loooove beef ribs. But they are pretty new on the scene. As we are cooking them now. 12-13 years ago, only Blacks did them that way. So I've gotta keep pork ribs in the Trinity. More classic.
You had me at Brothertons Black Iron BBQ.... and thankfully they are only about 10 miles away. YES I WILL BE Wazing that this weekend *wipes drool from my maws
I am a new youtuber and I live in San Antonio but I love your content. I am doing this more for my passion of travelling in the US (mainly Texas) and Mexico. I try to show people how amazing Texas and Mexico are. I would love to network with you if you are open to that.
It says they all work full time jobs elsewhere, Ms Tootsie specifically is a janitor during the work week, the rest of the staff isnt specified but I'm sure wherever they work is getting a great employee if their efforts at Snow's is any type of a clue to their work ethic
Depends on who you talk to on whether it's south/southwest. US Census bureau considers Texas part of the south. My gf is from Lockhart and considers it the south. My territory for work is southwest and Texas gets lumped in with that. Some just call it deep south
@@chelleroberson3222 and the diehard Texan I live with, and other Texan roommates I've had. This topic has definitely come up before. If you call the confederacy 'the south', Texas was part of that too. What's your favorite BBQ 🍖 joint in Texas?
Black's in Lockhart.
Kreuz in Lockhart
Coopers in Llano
Hard Eight in The Colony
0:15 yes, an art.
This stuff is so high quality anyone would think you have a few million subs
That's a high compliment. Keep watching and help us get there.
@@TheDaytripper you will!
I agree. This may be the best show on TV.
It feels good seeing my family’s bbq joint on here knowing all the heritage, love, and tradition that found it. ❤️ Mumphord’s Place bbq
Man, I love Texas! I have lived many places but nothing has compared to living in Texas. I am never leaving!
He's right- even when BBQ in TX ain't the "best" you ever had, it's all still pretty good and almost never bad!
It’s awesome to see the production crew in front of the camera! Been enjoying the show since 2010 thanks to all of y’all. 🍖🍞
Thanks!

Ms. Tootsie is awesome. I think everybody should have her work ethic..
Indeed. She's a living legend!
Love the video, makes me proud to be a Texan.
So glad to see Stringer’s Lufkin BBQ, I ate my share of those rolls growing up!
Great episode!! While lists are fun there are plenty of great bbq joints not on them! Touring Texas and beyond eating at bbq joints finding what YOU like is a blast. Thanks for highlighting these businesses!
Thanks amigo. Agreed. In BBQ, eat what you like. But explore and eat it all too.
I think you could've done 30 episodes of bbq in Texas.... crazy how many spots there are... awesome content
Ribs, Brisket & Pulled Pork - My Trinity!
I’m from Llano Texas born and raised but live in Austin at the moment and we are famous for our Immans kitchen, coopers BBQ and our small town is very famous for our food and sight seeings since we are the deer capital of Texas.
Love Cooper's and Inman's. Both worth the road trip.
Are you sure yall are still the deer capital?
@@tejastrojanI thought that was Schleicher county.
Man, I NEED this road trip.

Great quality video!! Texas bbq is king
Love the vids!
here in Roanoke (North Texas) we have 407 BBQ; it's to die for!!!!!
Prime is the Austin crutch. Take cheap meat and make something of it. That’s why Snow’s is special.
Snow is my favorite, you can't cook away from the kitchen. The secret to good barbecue is time. If you have to put sauce on the meat is not good barbecue. Kinda like cookies good steak. But a good sauce never takes away from the meat.
Loco Coyote in Glen Rose is my favorite. 1701 barbecue in Beaumont is legit as well
Love 1701. Great to finally have a good barbecue place in BMT besides just Patillo's.
You left out the number one BBQ in Texas, Goldee's BBQ in Fort Worth!
This video is a couple of years old. Goldee's is # 1 for 2023
Enjoyed That, Well Done ! ! And, I lernt a few things along the way. ; )
Awesome. Got some new spots on your list?
Love this show and great BBQ thank you
Is this show aired on a national TV channel? It’s really high quality and professionally made. It certainly isn’t your typical UA-cam video.
I'm not with the show. My understanding is that it is syndicated to local stations within Texas,

I miss Texas BBQ!
My favorite is Coopers, but only the Mason location because they have bbq goat and goat sausage, and it’s the best stuff ever!
Yum
Now I need some BBQ and nanna pudding, yum!
How you don’t have Franklin’s on the list is a total loss. It’s like having a football ranking without Alabama. 😂
Coopers Old Tyme BBQ. My favorite is in Llano! (And not just because my brother works there.) Their food is awesome!!!
I am drooling
Then I did my job.

Thorndale Meat Market, Thorndale, Texas.

Brisket on a biscuit? I don't know why, but I think I would try adding mayo to that.
The eyeball...no way Jose
Being from south Texas I don't like central Texas bbq. Give me mesquite smoked South Texas BBQ any day
Man brother I've been eaten at Fenoglio's since I was 5 year's old and I'm fixin to be 40
Oh Wow , jus subd a day or so ago , well... God Bless Texas , nuf said know what i mean....
Where do you get the bbq crab mentioned in the video? Please
Schooner Restaurant or Sartin's in Port Arthur , Texas.
What brand and model is your hat? I gotta have one!!!!
I think that's a Stetson open road model hat
Hey, it was good to" meat" you & Riley in Grand Prairie. I'll see you in Lockhart
