Harry is just a delight. I really enjoyed their talk.
When I saw the prices on the menu board, I was shocked at the prices being asked.
$15 USD per half a pound of brisket, and the same for beef ribs, well here in Australia, that works out at roughly $20 AUD per 250 grams. Or 1/4 of a kilogram of 🥩 and to be honest, I was taken aback by the price.
BUT, when I saw what you received and the quality of the finished product, the juiciness and tenderness, man was I impressed.
I not only drooled over every item on that tray, I would have willingly paid the piper.
When you take into account the original cost of the meat, the cost of the equipment and the wages of the highly trained staff, mate, take my money 💰
I said to the wife, next time we are in America, I’m heading to Texas 👍
I think the price is pretty good lol I've made way more for meat.
Definitely worth...here in miami where bbq is subpar I paid more for mediocre
I thought it was expensive too but not egregiously so. They charge $30 a pound for brisket. Most good to great BBQ places are charging at least $20 a pound and many are charging 25, so it's not horrible.
$12 a pound for pork ribs! The sides! 🤤
Just a few places in TX r exceptional. I live n of Houston and local BBQ is sub par. Often no good at all. U better off w a burger. It takes expertise to produce this quality. Price of quality red meat has over doubled in the last 3 years. Fish is even worse. I'm still grateful to be retired in TX.
When you tell your girl: "We need to get a pound of that." and she replies with "2 pounds"....that's a keeper!

My wife and I made the trip from Houston over to here this past weekend and we absolutely loved it. Best barbecue I ever had and the workers were lovely. I saw some familiar faces from my undergrads days at UT too. Glad to see these guys venture out and made their own barbecue establishment.

I wasn't expecting them to serve hash and rice there. That's normally a South carolina thing. The food looks heavenly
Being from Charleston, I was thinking the same thing.
The sauce is very Carolina too, TX sauce is usually thick sweet and spicy.
I couldn’t make out exactly what it was. What is it? I know I could Google it but it sounds like you are local and I prefer actual knowledge.
@@WriterBren It's shredded BBQ pork cooked down almost into thick meat gravy with apple cider vinegar, spices and sometimes a mustard-based BBQ sauce. But recipes vary. My parents liked it far more than I did, but I remember it turning up at BBQ's regularly.

Proper BBQ isn’t cooking. It’s more like alchemy; turning basic meats into culinary gold.
They deserve #1. The services are good. Based on the video. Not only that, they gave out free drinks and samples to customers who waiting in line. Good idea. Because After waiting long time, you will want to give up until the sample giving to you and it taste so good you rather die in line then go back.

We live near Goldees and have eaten a couple times before they became famous with long lines. They really really really do have good meats and sides here. Their hospitality is also amazing. Love this place!!! Yes you get free beer and samples too while waiting.

I worked at Nikugen and I actually created and added the menu item ramen he's eating. It's called the spicy shrimp garlic ramen, I learned the recipe from a different ramen shop I was a cook for but unfortunately was closed down. Glad to see he liked my creation.

Saw it voted #1 couple of months ago and was excited to see it's not in Austin. It's only 15 min from me and I need to take a day off and try it out. Pure passion from the workers, love to see it.
You know, I have yet to try a place like this but in Orlando. I know for a fact that when my wife and I visit Texas some day, I will be enjoying all the BBQ places they have. Especially those in your videos because they always look so amazing and delicious! Hope all is well Mike and thank you so much for all you do and your content. Lived in Texas all my life, have had a lot of BBQ in my short 40yrs and Goldee's is life changing BBQ. Better than Franklin's and dare I say Snows BBQ. Those guys got something special going on there and thankfully it's only 25min from my house. Haha
Usually hate turkey because it's usually so dry, and why eat it over any of the other holiday meals my family puts out? But after seeing the BBQ spot sliced turkey, it made me want to try it
Yeah an excellent sign of a smokehouse is their turkey’s quality. Great way to tell if they knock everything out of the park or are just packing in weight for order volume over quality instead

Hey Mikey! Next time your in Austin you should check out Leroy & Lewis BBQ. They only have brisket on the weekends, and if your lucky theyll have a bacon rib for you.
Leroy and Lewis and Interstellar BBQ are both on my bucket list. Ive had Goldee's and its better than every other spot Ive been to including Terry Black's.
A lot of creators stick to only a couple of styles of food, but Mike’s appreciation of all foods around the world, is the mindset the rest of the world should have to create world peace
