@@christopherbergeron4233Black's was started by Terry Black's and his brother, who passed away. The 2 sons of the deceased brother and Terry Black's continued on but eventually split up and the sons continued on in their own place and Terry Black's opened named after himself, I think?
My husband and I re-watching this episode before our trip to Texas; we decided to try Black’s BBQ - 93 years in business - it had to be good, right?? Well it was awful! A room full of diners, more coming in the door and we got dry flavorless pork ribs. The brisket wasn’t bad. The Sausage tastes gamey. The sides saved this meal. The green beans, Mexican rice and potato salad were delicious!! Plan to trying Terry Black’s Lockhart location as it has the best reviews.
@@TheDaytripper thanks for the reply and your shows - we just love them!! It really helped when planning our trips to TX. It is sad because a 93 year old reputation is fading fast.
The Terry Black's Lockhart location opened up last year. They supplement the Barton Springs (Austin) location. Terry is Kent's brother. They had a split. Terry passed away and now his sons run the business. OG Black's is run by Kent Black. He also has locations in San Marcos and New Braunfels which are better than the Lockhart flagship. Chisholm Trail is the fast food version of BBQ. Kruez is ok. I don't care for their sausage. Smitty's is better. Try a pork Chop next time. Terry's is consistently better and features the "Giant Beef Rib". Look it up, it doesn't disappoint. Their jalapeno cheese sausage is amazing.
Born and raised love them all
I love the barbecue restaurants in there and the painting of the Dallas Cowboys team riding horses in the middle of the desert 😊❤ absolutely awesome
Terry Black has his own restaurant. One in Austin and another in Lockhart. In my opinion is better than anyone else’s
agree
💯 Percent agreed
One in Fort Worth
Terry Blacks was acutely started by Terry sons, but I agree it’s the best of all of them.

I didn't understand Lockhart when we drove in, but after a year and a bit, we completely understand. Long live Lockhart.
Roy is a top-notch Pitmaster, however, Miss Tootsie at Snow’s…👍🤠🇺🇸
I’m just wondering how Chet isn’t asleep after all the food coma
All the brisket looks tough
Don't forget the side dishes.. potato salad and cole slaw! 😋❤
@10:32 is that a bottle of barbecue sauce on the table?
AWESOME!
Best kept secret Lockhart has an amazing pizza place loop and Lils Richard platt and wife are amazing
It’s fitting because I feel like the last time the Dallas Cowboys won a Super Bowl, we were riding horses.

Ive been hearing that the OG Black's in Lockhart is falling behind. Sad. Because it used to be sooooo good.

@@dontbeaduffer thanks for all your information - it’s much appreciated
@@pattiburton9976 Happy to help. We had Terry's in Lockhart last night. Also recommend trying some "burnt ends".
There are definitely more than 4 BBQ places in Lockhart.
Where’s Barb’s BBQ?!!! She was the brisket cook at Goldees!
This is from 2010, check the description.
There are ore than four bbq joints here. We have Terry Blacks, Barbs B Q, Rileys Pit.
Chisholm Trail is the best. Not overpriced, and stupid good.
There are far more than 4 bbq places in Lockhart!
Black's is the best 👍
@6:14 if they don't know how to slice meat across the grain, I'm not going to trust their "brisket"
Funky b-roll, bro..
We need to keep Texas for Texans.
Barbs is the best
Smitty’s is the best!
Yea best ever
Did he actually lick the wall???😂😂
Blacks bbq and Kreutz bbq are good
Cannot compare 100 year old pits at Smittys to Kreuz and the others

Blacks is my family's favorite.
