Here's a tip, don't jump in front of the dwarf with a big gun, I've noticed as gunner that for some reason teammates seem to gravitate in front of my gum
because you can't see behind yourself to know if you are strafing into the gunner's line of fire. most enemies are melee so mobility is the name of the game rather than cover and firing lines... in games like this it's actually the job of the shooter to check their fire =P
@@entropicflux8849its the job of both. One interrupts in case the other gotta walk a bit. Also, gunners projectiles are many and bright. You definately see them if you are anywhat suited to shooters.
Was in a mining mission with 3 lone-wolves. It was terrible. Everyone kept calling Molly from opposite ends of the map. The mule ended up pacing back and forth across the middle of the map, never quite reaching one player before another player called it. Stick together!
Oh god, that is so frustrating, this game is all about team work and some people just aren't cut out for playing with others, sadly. Thanks for watching.
Or just have some patience. Or meet up with one of the players so you can both unload at the same time. But yeah, it's a game about teamwork. Sticking together is primary. :P
So far I’ve had to leave people behind only once, pretty new still but It was my first haz four mission, the extraction wave was insane, it had mactera plague and lethal enemies I believe, we just had one person consistently up, if one got picked up the reviver went down, two people had fallen through the same hole right before the pod that was deep enough to trap you for a bug to kill you but not super deep. Me and the driller were running through a hole he’d dug before coming back for me (so we’d have a straight shot) and he was fighting what was ahead while I fought what was behind, he fell in the same hole but I made the jump, I wanted so badly to go for them but it was filled with bugs, I was out of my zip lines and my shields from saving people, and I had like a minute left, so I would have had to dig manually, fight whatever was in there, and pick them up without getting hit like once and there were mactera everywhere. I decided it was best if I didn’t risk it, because I had almost no chance as a green beard to pull it off, but it still felt terrible
Also don't forget a properly upgraded engineering platform negates fall damage. Just worth mentioning. Any good enginner can lay out those landing pads. That the scout will then ignore.
It's important remember that it won't _negate_ it just _reduce_ it. A lot of the time it reduces it to/below zero damage, but you can still take damage landing on one
To that end, consider occasionally throwing one or two under high ziplines or near likely drop-offs to make traversal easier and safer for everyone. Plats can be used for much, much more than just throwing under mineral deposits.
Couple that came to mind while I was watching: 1 - as you buy weapon upgrades, it fills in the little cells below that unlock new cosmetics, but if you buy upgrades for your armour, you unlock actual buffs, +health etc, so if you're struggling to stay alive, think about putting some points into your armour first instead of weapons 2 - scout is a good class to learn with, as his team doesn't rely on him for his traversal, since only he can use it 3 - no dwarf left behind!
the best class to start with honestly depends on your level or experience with fps games. scout is really good all around, absolutely, but for someone with little to no experience with games like this (aka me) i honestly recommend driller. driller's flamethrower doesnt really need precise aiming and his drills mean drop pod panic basically isnt an issue so its better for players newer to the genre as a whole. this is purely anecdotal though, and scout is an equally valid pick
A tip I would add is to get accustomed to sound! A lot of special glyphids have unique sounds that act as a warning, same way L4D's special infected do. I cannot tell you how much better I got after I committed menace, grabber, and stingtail boises to memory. It can really make a difference and prevent you from getting yeeted into a chasm, gunned down by puke, or spirited away to Narnia
To me it is worth grabbing all minerals in a mission as the xp is 100% worth it, I have put 7 months into this game and already have a legendary 1 promoted dwarf.
Yeah, maybe on the lower difficulty it isn't as bad but when it's a high risk mission is just puts you in the danger zone for longer than you need to be there!
Yah, the drop pod panick is what hits me the hardest as a new player. I also don't know how to triangulate myself in large maps, so it's always a pain when the pod is based in an upper level.
When I was a new player I had that too, but now I just play as the Driller class, with the driller it's almost impossible to not get to the drop pod as long as you resupply your drills before the pod is called in. Just drill in a straight line to the pod and you and your team can get home without all the environmental aggro or aliens chipping away at you. Cheers
Here are some simple tips that a beginner might not know 1. Ping anything of importance whether you have a team or not because this helps identify priority targets like nitra, materials, or tough enemies. 2. Use your power attack to save ammo since it is essentially a free kill on a grunt but it can also help against enemies weak to melee like oppressors which take significant damage from melee. 3. I advise taking the normal tunnels blocked by dirt instead of giant holes next to spawn since those tunnels contain easily obtainable resources and allow you a easy path to spawn if needed. 4. Do not use actual credits or materials on shop cosmetics especially since there is a resource with no other purpose but to buy cosmetics called Phazyonite. 5. Focus on perk slots before any other perks and get thorns and resupplier since those are as basic as bread for a reason. (THEY ARE INSANELY USEFUL DO NOT SLEEP ON THOSE 2) 6. Engineers should use platforms under high up minerals since scouts can grapple to them. 7. Keep an eye on your tools and weapons when you aren't in danger so you can always use something when you need it.
Thanks for the ideas, I think the best thing about this game is everyone finds their style or the things they will prioritise, thanks for pointing out your ones.
I guess it's understandable that some says it's better to speed run the mission instead of full explore. True for some players they have their reaons. There're player lvl 1000+ vets, every cosmetics unlocked - of course they don't need anything from lost gear or cargo crate. And there're sweaty gamers, running haz 5 only as a warm up for modded haz 6 missions - it's true on high haz level time is crucial, every extra minute wasted means more and more bugs will spawn and more ammo used. But as the title suggest, this is more of a beginner thing - for player just try out DRG, playing on haz 2 or 3. They don't have any cosmetics or good enough to speedrun.

Oh my god, I know right! The other day I hosted a mission with 3 green beards, one just got to the drop pod, sat there and refused to rock and stone while I tried desperately to save the other two, what is that all about! ha
@@PlayGames_PG That's a ban-able/kick-able offense right there.
*16* mistakes, *15* fixes, in a *14* minute video.
With 13 beers drunk while making it.
"Wasting Credits and Resources on stuff you don't need"
*shows the Cosmetic Shop*
AHEM!
_Excuse me!_ Fancy hats and Blinging beards happen to be EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for the full DRG experience! You are just shooting yourself in he foot (and your team by extension) if you opt out of shilling for the proper drip!
You know what I mean, thanks for watching.
Great tips! Next time try to get game footge that matches what you're talking about though! Most of the tips you mentioned were said during footage of random things happening, which doesn't add anything to the narration.
Thank you! Why such a nit picker? Cheer up
@@PlayGames_PG It is actually important, it makes your content go from a glorified podcast to an actual video.
Leave no dwarf behind brothers!
Oh also remember to Rock and Stone
Rock and Stone to the bone!
For all greenbeards i recommended dash (on the perk tree)
Good choice! Rock n Stone!
@@PlayGames_PG if this where any other game there would've been an argument, the beauty of deep rock
Rookie mistake: not spamming the V key.
YOU FORGOT THE MODT IMPORTANT RULE;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"ROCK AND STONE"
OR YOU AIN'T COMING HOME!
11:27 and you even KNOW the rule but you still didn't list it. Shame, shame, shame!
Some things are unspoken rules haha if you know you know ;)
Lesson one, comment after watch the entire guide. Rock and Stone brother!
@@PlayGames_PG I actually had already watched it once, I just went back and watched again for the time stamp because I had seen that clip and was waiting to see if it was mentioned. Karl wouldn't be pleased. But I'm not Karl and I forgive you. ROCK AND STONE SHORTIES!
I hope season 3 adds something new, perhaps Karl has gone freelance and working for the Space Elves? Maybe that's what's controlling these pesky robots? Say it ain't so Karl! :D
deadass thought it was pornography gamer
haha different channel I think :D
my team.... never slaps the dice before going down, I fear this disrespect will carry into our mission leading to our deaths. Sad days indeed WHATS NEXT! NO DRINKIN baah back in my day.............................
That is shocking, they cannot be true dwarves, must have some Elvish in them! Rock and Stone!
Thx and good video
Cheers
Mining every little piece of everything is a death sentence. Yes it kills your OCD. You know what also kills? Not finishing the mission and taking your loot with you. Level up miners. Don't fall for this first tip.
Alas it appears you have missed the point. I said mining the resources that are linked to the mission success, not every resource. Listen next time, you'll learn something. Rock and Stone!
4:54 the worst error ever
Agreed
To No.5: youncan install no friendly fire mod if you dislike friendly fire (like i do)
Thanks for the info.
3:30
Wtf you can hitch a ride on those things?!
Indeed you can!
11:40
Scouts light up the area so people can see better!
:D I play scout :D
Not all scouts, just the good ones.
What's your opinion on the new season 2 content PG ?
Too early to say, I've only dipped in the other day with a mate. But will spend a few days next week looking into it. I like the fact they added a new mineral that can buy stuff in the store without spending normal creds/minerals. The cosmetic tree/100 level stuff seems the same, but can't comment on the new weapons or assignments yet. Cheers
Wish I played with you or likeminded players. I usually draw the selfish non team player kinds that make this game not so fun for me.
Yeah, over time I've made friends with a few good team players but I agree there are a lot of XP chasers out there!
What rank are you? In rank 1798 and try to do the mission as fast as you can! I'm more like a lone wolf 🐺
I've played it on Steam, Xbox and PS4 huge amounts so my overall rank is lower. Thanks for watching.
Remember to Look Up to see the Cave Leeches.
Wise words!
Sooooo nobody‘s gonna talk about that he odered a leaf lovers special at 7:3o? … Just me? ok
Don't pretend you've never done it, let go of the regret ;)
Me who’s only played with infinite ammo cheats
Thanks for watching.
I don’t really agree with the first one because 0.1 of a mineral is so small and not worth your time.
Thanks for sharing.
If you leave even a single crumb of ore behind, can you even call yourself a dwarf?
What kind of music is that?
Which track? Details in the description.
@@PlayGames_PG No, not what its called but what kind that is. It sounds like the kind of hypnotising ambience you expect in a movie just befor the unsuspecting investigator falls victim to the serial killer's trap. What most confuses me, is that it spans the entire length of the video instead of highlighting the biggest mistakes.
Nitra is life - me (a gunner main)
Rock and Stone!
Getting out of your pod in a 5 star in order "to leave no dwarf behind" is an awful habit. Not a good one
The team comes first, always.
@@PlayGames_PG pointless RP. You save only when you can or else it's not worth wasting everybody's time.. That's pretty common knowledge in DRG
Only child hey, look out for yourself first. Good luck
@@iluvatarchem What part about 'no dwarf left behind' has you confused? If a teammates down, I either get them back or die with them.
@@SunnyGaming3710 You are saying it wrong. Here's the correct way:
"If a teammate is down, I either get them back or waste 30 minutes of everyone's time".
Here fixed it for you.
Thank you for watching.
We're rich!
