Wow I love this theory! I always thought the Forgotten Ones were a lot like the Evenuris, or were just other rivals of a similar nature, but this is really, really interesting and shifts my thinking entirely.
Thank you, I honestly think this might be true & I think it fills in a lot of the mystery behind the Forgotten Ones. I can't wait to see if we get more info on them in DA4, hopefully to support my theory or improve it.
Interesting theory it would be a great backstory if they were Slaves who became powerful Magi and then tried to become God's simply out of spite and vengeance against the other False God Magi of the Evanuris. If true I could see The Forgotten Ones as being morally grey antagonists we could sympathize with if we ever meet and fight them. Also it would connect Solas as a Slave Rebel Leader as the Dread Wolf and the Dalish tells of The Forgotten Ones seeing him as Kin. As for why Solas would turn against them is also understandable. Given Solas sought to truly FREE his people from the Tyranny of False God's eventually The Forgotten Ones plans to simply replace the Evanuris would lead to them turning against him or vice versa.
Yeah, narrative wise it would make sense. I was hoping to find a backstory to the Forgotten Ones & this is the one that seemed the most likely to me. It would be nice if my theory was right but overall I'd just like to learn more on the lore of the Forgotten Ones. Thanks for the comment, happy you enjoyed the video.
Great video and a great theory, good job! I've always suspected them to be the final baddie of the series ( either them or The Evanuris ) considering they were regarded as equals or rivals to The Evanuris. But maybe only The Evanuris will be the big baddie of the series ( if The Forgotten Ones are good ), maybe in DA 5 which will conclude the series.
The dragons Yavana mentioned were great dragons & very old so they could potentially be connected to the Forgotten Ones or the Evanuris but since Yavana doesn't say much on them after & we know next to nothing on the Forgotten Ones is hard to say. In my opinion I just assumed the Great Dragons Yavana spoke of were dragons that had stronger magical powers & were much bigger. Hopefully we get to see one in DA4. Thanks for commenting!
There is some support that the old gods and the forgotten ones are the same, but there seems to be a lot of people thinking they aren't. We know the dominions and names of the old (dragon) gods, though, if that helps at all.
@@asherrose8752 We do have the names of the Archdemons since they are the Old Gods/dragons that Tevinter worshiped however we also only know 3 names of some of the forgotten ones. None of the names relate as far as we know now and we don't know if there are only 3 forgotten ones in total (I doubt it) but maybe the names will relate the more lore we get. I did look to see if there was in correlation to the Old Gods and the forgotten ones but there just isn't enough info on the forgotten ones to make a solid connection. Thanks & again sorry for the late reply
I think Solas foresaw them becoming just like the Evanuris & corrupt with power. If the Forgotten Ones were rivals to the Evanuris then they could have become just as strong & he may not have wanted free. Or it could be that they were cast in the void by mistake when Solaris put up the veil.
@@crimsonwolf210 it is said that the forgotten ones could traverse the void without issue. Perhaps they were the equivalent of red templars, but worse. Like a dark spawn red Templar hybrid. Like andruil before them he saw what happened when they went too far trying to wield the blight. Perhaps this is the thing that is “far worse” than the current set of problems as it pertains to the blight

I think we may see the forgotten ones & some may aid us or try to recruit us to help fight the elvanuris.
@@crimsonwolf210 Or more likely we will be caught in their war 😅
Interesting! Definitely makes one wonder...🤔🤔🤔
Yavana said that before the elves, the dragons rules thedas.
Can the forgotten ones be these dragones, defeated by the evanuris?

They almost sound like a Qunari.
I like this theory it does have some merit.
I honestly thought it’d just be a good way to include the forgotten ones since we don’t have much information in them.
But why banish the former slaves to the void underground? Why did Solas believe that was preferable to letting them wander in a post veil world
