I wonder if the Forgotten Ones will play a role in the next game since they've been mentioned quite a lot in Inquisition? In the Last Court, the elves there wore red vallaslin and worshipped the Forgotten Ones. In Trespasser, Leliana mentions that the elves of the Tirashan have been acting up again. Then there's the dragon murals with red markings on their faces in the ancient elvhen ruins.
I'd also like to know why they were banished and became the Forgotten Ones? Solas says there was a great war and these war generals eventually became the Evanuris as time passed. One theory I have is that the Forgotten Ones participated in this war and would have become Evanuris themselves, but they disagreed with being revered as Gods and maybe helping the people that way. So they were banished, all their deeds, public records and knowledge erased.

I wondered this also, but I'm starting to lean towards the idea that the war was between the elves and the titans/early dwarves. I think the forgotten ones were the same original elves as the Evanuris. Where as they become generals and leaders etc I think the forgotten ones became kind of political outcasts that went against the the natural order becoming outcasts an rebels. I think they are just as powerful as the Evanuris they just became a threat to them. That is probably why we don't know much about them, all their info was stripped from the records and discredited by those in power. We know that the Evanuris tried to make Solas out as the bad guy for their own ends. I can't wait to see what's to come !

@@andhikaarisetiawan4542 No, it was said that there were "many forgotten ones", not like Evanuris who were just few(but more powerful as far as i understood).
It would be kinda wild if it turns out that subsequent evolution(or devolution) of forgotten ones are humans. Something like after being banished to the void, they power managed to somehow seep out and after Veil was created when Evanuris killed Mythal by Fen'Harell, these "leftovers" of forgotten ones formed new species, humanity.
It could even explain why humans cannot perceive Fade the same way elves do. Because they are descendants(or somehow related) to the "Evanuris" greatest enemies aka forgotten ones. So the fact that both factions would have some countermeasures against each other(like forgotten ones not being able to perceive "Evanuris" creation in Fade in same way for example) would be not only understandable but also expected.
And if there is also connection between Old Gods and Forgotten Ones(like that Mythal's Guardian dragon is bound to her and Inquisitor can use it in battle if they drank from well), it may also explain why Ancient Humans were drawn to them(and worshipped them back in Tevinter), not to mention that it could also explain why many humans have inborn distrust for elves(again, it was Evanuris and their "servants" who banished them forever, so if there is connection, it would make sense).
But who knows, maybe they won't even return to this specific questlines, considering that Evanuris will be the main focus of next game, at least based on Trailer i've seen.

What if the Forgotten Ones were the ones that murdered Mythal then tricked Solas into believing that the Evanuris did it. Which would prompt Solas to act upon the contingency plan, that was creating the veil, to stop the Evanuris.
Mythal was the only one that knew the truth, that is why she says that Mythal was betrayed, as the world was betrayed, because the veil was not supposed to be, it was a misunderstanding, one that Solas is aiming to correct.
It would account for the whole "fading into obscurity until the time to strike" that Geldauran was going on about.
And yes, i know this is insane but...

    Great video.
What I think more or less of the forgotten:
1- They were talented mages (below the evanuris) but who did not accept being enslaved by them.
2- As they did not have the strength to defeat the entire elven pantheon they decided to hide. They ended up sheltering in the void.
3 - In the void they discovered the blight and corrupted themselves with it.
4- As they did not have the strength to beat the evanuris and were probably in smaller numbers, they decided to use blight against the evanuris.
5 - They could not be guilty of the story so what did they do? manipulated the inflated ego of andruil and made her hunt them in the void for herself to corrupt herself and to spread the blight between them. This is reflected somewhat with the description of the geldauram codex where he says to let the bow of andruil break and that he would have his revenge on the pride of the evanuris.
6- Mythal defeats Andruil and steals his knowledge of emptiness. However, corruption had already begun.
7- All corrupted Elvhenam amplifies the civil war. Solas realizes this and begins to act.
8 - Solas arrests the forgotten because they have started everything.
9- The evanaruis killed mythal and were out of control with the blight and would end the world. Thus soles trap them in most likely fade in the black city.

The truth of these historical events may never be actually revealed, we can get such a small but deep look from The Forgotten Ones' very existence into the sheer complexity of ancient Arlathan. It is so fascinating! And further reinforces the overarching notions of the DA universe: that there are many sides and reasons that make up every story. What a great video, Cole! Seriously, 3 minutes in, I am both engrossed and overwhelmed! Great work!

Love this vid. As always I love the connections you make and the skepticism accompanied. I really have high hopes for the information we're getting about dragon age soon! And with that... I can only hope that the next installment has less 'rift' like systems. Sure rifts were good for story points in places like Haven and Crestwood, but otherwise they gave us something we never needed in that abundance. I also hope for better combat mechanics.. but yeah.. As long as the lore is strong I'll love these games... Here's hoping. Keep on keeping on.

Hakkon winters breath is Korth first born son. >>> Elgar'nan is the Sun god's eldest son.
Korth lost its heart, and grew cruel. >>> Sun god grew jealous, and scorched the land.
Belenas fell apart, and Hakkon bound Korths heart to his chest. >>> Elgar'nan threw the Sun god from the sky.
    Hakkon >>> Elgar'nan
I think that they could be one of the same, in-fact, I think a lot of Ancient Elven lores are similar to Avvar tales.

Abaut the three forgotten ones. I think maybe they are something like the 4 horseman from the Bible. i mean the 4 thing they symbolise. Terror, Malice, Spite and Pestilence. If i'm right maybe there is a 4th Forgotten one. Maybe Malvernis is the 4th one.

I'm guessing you're either quite young, or very sheltered. If no one sees you as a threat there's no reason to be guarded. Sun Tzu, in The Art of War, also said it's ideal to win a war without fighting a single battle.
The easiest way to accomplish this is for your enemy to believe you're either a friend, you're incapable, or that you simply don't exist.
Pay attention in your personal or professional life. I guarantee you already know people who would fit such a description. Be aware, and take care.

@@MaryDunford i'm not very young. Definitely not that. But maybe stupid and naive? Idk.
There was s dude I used to know named Liang back in the days. He had a similar idea of fighting. But it was his largess that made it so that his enemies doubted themselves and didn't attack when they had him beat.
Maybe his knowledge is useful in certain situations. But what would I know?
