Great story of Levicy Hatfield. The women of this time are amazing. Just think of the strength they had to have. They worked hard in the home while raising big families. Much respect to these women.

WOW! This was somewhat of a scary story. It was a great story of Levity Hatfield. Women during that time were amazing. My grandmother and mother lived during this time. Thank you for this wonderful story.

The times reflect life and death, and being blessed with advanced age is lovely. My grandmother Lydia was such, having been born out of wedlock, married at 16, had a child lost a child, had a child, and then lost a first husband to death. Married my grandfather and lost two children, yet lived into her 80s happy as anyone and never frowned on her losses.

So so interesting. When you started reading the papers it said she had been ill. Any possibility that she may have had a stroke. Old death certificates are interesting. Having been during my career a cardiac nurse I realize how far our knowledge has increased in a hundred years. Even my maternal grandfather who died when my mom was only 16 had a wonky death certificate from 1950. He a lot older than my grandmother. I'm just nosy & hate not knowing stuff particularly anything medical. I really do enjoy your videos you are a good researcher

I think nit would be possible. Devil Anse had a stroke, I read he suddenly couldn't talk or walk, then got sick. Death certificate says pneumonia. Im sure she had multiple problems. I'm not sure where the cardiomyopathy plays in. Some feudist have no death certificates which drive me crazy haha

Great video, can you just imagine what she must have endured throughout her life ? Her husband or sons go out hunting are they gonna come back alive ? The gossip and still holding her head high and proud in church she is a amazing legend in her own right.

Is their home still standing or any old log cabins used by the family members still around ?? I’ve seen so many log homes and churches and stone homes still standing from that era!! Some even from the late 1700s!! I love this history. Thank u for the videos!!😎🙏🙏🙏

My Mom was born in 1945 and raised until 10 in Paducah, KY. She talked about the Hatfields and McCoys hatred for each other. Love the no nonsense people of KY WV area. Scared of nothing. My Mom had a cousin that fished on the Mississippi. And he said IRS came snooping. He said IRS man never made it back to his office. He said he was in the river, fish food.
