I struggled with shoe organization for years until I finally realized that when I was choosing for an outfit I would end up with most of my shoes on the floor as I pulled them out and tried them on. So I put them in shallow under bed tubs. Now I can just slide out the tub(s) and have my selection at my feet, then slide them back when Ive finished. No more effort to stack them back into a shoe organizer
Yea like I gathered some of that information she tells about until I was like 30. And she already knows everything. Whaat. And ofc im getting more tips and style ideas from her now!
Ikr! I've justed turned 22, and to hear that Ellie is younger than me is astounding. I thought she was older than me 😅. She's very knowledgeable and mature for her age :)
The bag drop is a fantastic idea. For those who maybe don’t have a convenient space for one, I use a trick I learned from Martha Stewart ages ago. I use little bags (she used plastic at the time but I think we have better sustainable options today that would work just as well) and group like items in them that I keep in a large tote that hangs in my front closet all the time. That way I can just reach in and grab what I need with me when I leave the house and can easily return them when I get home or if I change my bag, etc. Same principle, but it is all hanging in the closet instead of laid out on a surface. Bonus is that it keeps all my bags neat and organized and clean and protected from mishaps like a bottle of hand cream leaking or some such. A fellow Caroline fan, here. Love her to bits. Thank you for the lazy Susan hack reminder! I meant to get one for my potions and what nots in my bathroom and totally forgot !! How could I have forgotten?! Brilliant idea.
I do similar to this! I have a main lot of things I need to carry everywhere (meds, chapstick, etc), so I have them all in a miniature plastic storage box, and then I can just grab that and change that into the new bag, then add in the specifics I want for that day!
Such helpful tips! ❤ Oh and the first two things I personally think people should invest on this list immediately is: 1. Velvet hangers They REALLY maximize closet space. 2. A clothes steamer. A steamer was an absolute game changer, especially if you wear more crisp and neat styles. I haven’t needed an iron in years.
I don’t even know basics of dressing myself so seeing what you have to dress with is making me feel like it’s time to get a pair of boots and a scarf this winter
I have a bag drop, too! I have it in my closet, along with my bags. That way, I can take my things out of whichever bag I am using and then put that bag back where it goes. That way, the next time I get dressed, my accessories are in my closet so I can choose my fit and accessories (including handbag), and then I can put the things I need in the bag I chose.
I also do the bag drop thing- soooo handy! have a flat share so I also keep it next to my bedroom door. been doing it for years because I have always had a rucksack and a smaller bag I switch between and i'm super forgetful so would leave my keys or purse all over the place
Wow 20 pairs now I feel strange I have one 😬 I think my best bet is to just work on getting a shopping spree in then get the shoe rack that way my outfits are more diverse
Be careful hanging things on doors! Over time the weight of the items can pull on the door and hinges and damage the door frame making it difficult for the door to shut properly!
Wow, 300 clothing items is a LOT. I know it's not something ppl want to think about, but the fashion industry contributes a lot to climate change, and current consumption patterns are fueling that. Consider that a recent report suggested ppl should limit themselves to 85 items (including shoes) for a year and buy no more than 5 new items. I think we should all consider how we can re-orient our consumption habits to try to be more sustainable. One issue I had with a lot of these recommendations is that they were basically saying, "We've bought too much stuff to reasonably store/access, so here's more stuff to buy to store/access all that other stuff." I feel like they're only enabling a problematic behavior. - Boot supports - an alternative is to save the cardboard supports that come with the boots. That maintains the shape, is free, and helps absorb moisture. - A clothing rail - I know rooms and closets can be tiny, but honestly, if your clothes don't fit in your room, that might be a sign you have too many clothes. I mean, it wasn't common in our parents' generation for ppl to have clothes spilling over into other rooms of the house. - scarf hanger, extend-a-hook - great ideas for extending the usability of what we already have!

I have the Lazy Susan. It’s definitely one of my favourite bedroom purchases!
I’m noticing your raspberry sweater! I love it on you!
Thank you so much ☺️☺️☺️
Wardrobe storage optimization is the key to having an accessible wardrobe.
I have a bag drop, too!

I love your content! For boots I buy a pool noodle which costs about a dollar and cut it in half . Then I stuff each half in a boot . Voila! It works.
It’s called TK Maxx there?!
Yes 😊🎉
Yes it is! No idea why it’s TJ in other places or why it’s TK here - it’s a mystery!
What??? That’s crazy!
Yeah that blew my mind 😅
It’s TK in Australia too!
Love this!
I also do the bag drop thing- soooo handy! have a flat share so I also keep it next to my bedroom door. been doing it for years because I have always had a rucksack and a smaller bag I switch between and i'm super forgetful so would leave my keys or purse all over the place
