Mine is very similar. I randomly ran into a girl I was friends with 13 years ago in school, and she said that I was such a loving friend and that she would never forget me. It meant a lot to me because we were only 9 at the time and for her to think so highly of me so many years later was heartwarming.
“You’re meant to love your family. That’s a given. But I like you, kid. Do you hear what I’m saying? I LIKE you.” -my gruff 80 yr old grandpa, whispering to me at a large family dinner
Christmas Day, 2014, the tumor in my mom's breast burst and covered her remaining lung. She could barely talk let alone breath by the time the ambulance reached the ER... The doctor told us she wasn't going to make it, but my mom already knew that. Then she said something to me (in a very weak, whisper) shortly before moving her to the room she died in... 5 years later I asked my dad if she ever said anything to him at the hospital before she passed. He said she didn't speak to anyone after she got the news... My mother's last words were: "Son, you are the best thing that ever happened to me."
One day I gave a piece of chocolate to the guy that became my boyfriend since, but that was at the very beginning, he had just moved to my class. When we started talking, one day, out of the blue he said "I don't know if angels exist but I do believe some people come from heaven" I said "I agree like people who are always nice, the ones who laugh all the time..." and he added "the ones that give you chocolate out of the blue" I was having a very bad day and he didn't know it. It was so unexpected, it was the sweetest thing.
My husband just got deployed and I get to write him letters. He doesn't have a phone he can use. This made me break down lol. I miss dealing with crises with him
i feel the same way about my fiance, theres no one else id rather face the future with, he is my strength. that kind of love is something to never let go of.
"No matter what has happened between you two... when you fall in love again with someone new, come visit me and bring him with you. You will always be my granddaughter." -My ex's grandfather after me and my ex broke up. Such a sweet, amazing man who will always be considered family
You notice how it's hard for people to recall the "kindest" thing they've been told, but when they're asked about the "worst" they can instantly know exactly what to say
Roxan Nazar tbf I’m not very good at remembering either. I can remember several things that hurt me, I don’t think I can think of the worst. But there’s only very few positive things that stick in my mind if I’m honest. They’re all the more nice.
is it wierd that I'm the opposite? i can tell you one hundred kind things people told me, even the little thing, and appreciate it, bu t before like half an hour ago, I watched another video of the most painful thing people ever heard, and I couldn't recall anything right now, but I guess that may mean that I'm a lucky person, with a lot's of love around her, who notice it and appreciate it, but this isn't the wierdest yet, I'm a teenager, but from what I see, i guess I'm a little bit different, and I like this small difference
that's how our brain works to survive. Something bad is always stronger in our memory, so we know how to deal/avoid/overcome. Something good is there to be reminded when it happens again, if ever.
" I don't have many friends, but you are my favorite" - my late best friend. He died 4 years ago by car accident 15min after we met. I miss him so much.
Here's the kindest thing I've been told: I was 19 when I came out to a straight male friend, a dude. I was afraid that I'd spoil our friendship but I decided to let him know anyway and told him that I'm gay and he just hugged me and said, "So what, man, so what?". Then I started crying a little and he hugged me even closer. Then I cried big. Nothing has changed. We are still great friends. He tells me about his girls and women and I tell him about my boys and men😂
same thing happend to my friend told me he was gay i knew it from the beginning but he came out and told he thought i would tell everyone but i wont he was waiting for my reaction but i said it doesnt matter you can be whatever you want hes still my best friend
I never met a gay person ,can you tell me if you dont like girls at all please? Do you think that it's impossible for you to have a wife with the your feelings? And also, you being a guy, and liking guys how do you see your body? Do you think any event or circumstances in your life made you like this? Please dont take it rudely, I just dont know It's going to be really helpeful for me and others too I think
This makes me want to cry. Thats so sweet. Whats so sad is that this should be the response from everyone, or no one at all because being yourself just shouldn't be a problem. Its good to be reminded there are good people like that around us because theres just so much negativity. Thank you for commenting this, it made my day.
The kindest thing someone has said to me was my son (11 yrs old). So this one day, we were running errands together. After our 2nd or 3rd errand, we got back in the car. Then he said, “Mom, every person you talked to, you gave them compliments. You’re so nice.” Honestly, I didn’t even know I was doing that. My son noticing and pointing that out made me feel special.
What a powerful, beautiful sentiment!! That is such a simple statement but such a difficult thing to do for ourselves sometimes. It's really inspiring to hear that sentiment, because it tells me what a strong, resilient person you are, and that you had such incredible grace and patience for yourself in that moment. Thank you for sharing!!! I hope you are doing well, staying healthy, and continuing to be there for yourself.
I hear you: I, too, have that experience of being alone in hospital in the last decade (and knowing the difference to being there with lots of visitors and callers, parents, partners, and friends), and the best thing we can do is be kind to and care for ourselves mentally and bodily - as well as try to make new friends right there, by talking to other patients and finding. kindred spirits. I always succeed in at lease one whenever I’m in hospital, and it helps such a great deal. Hugs.
My biological father hasn’t been in my life since I was 15, but God was so good to me that he brought me a father figure and I remember in a conversation he said to me “I feel sad for your dad because he’s the one who missed out on a wonderful and beautiful daughter.” It really healed a lot of the hurt inside of me when I was feeling like I wasn’t worthy or enough to have my bio dad in my life.
my boyfriend once told me i'm the yellowist person he's ever met. this was maybe 3 months after we started dating and i was telling him how much i liked the color yellow. i said "yellow is such a pretty color" and he reponds with "well you're the yellowist person i've ever met." idk its very simple but it made me realize how much he really adored me and paid attention to me.
The kindest thing any one has said to me is No I was in a really bad mental state and I was saying goodbye to my 3 year old brother and he told me no and hugged me.
My story is: My ballet teacher has been bodyshaming me for years and the last time it was really hard not to cry during class in front of everyone. After the class I was fighting not to cry and one of the popular ones (they usually ignore me) came to me, hugged me and said "Are you ok?" I answered that everything was fine and she replied "I know it's not, but I hope you know you're perfectly fine and don't listen to that stupid teacher. Always remember that I'm here for you and ready to give you love when you don't love yourself." I just cried in her arms, but it was the nicest thing somebody told me... Edit: Thank you all for so many likes and nice replies. Never forget that you are loved and you are important.
@@KP-zh8fn Thank you so much. That really made me day, because I have practice the whole Saturday (6th April) and she'll probably yell at me again. Sending a lot of love back❤
@NIA ALDC, don't listen to your teacher. This is the reason so many young people in dance end up with eating disorders. Everyone is made unique and beautiful and if we were all the same, this would be a very boring world. Shine in your uniqueness and beauty and don't ever let anyone make you feel less than them. Smile and know that you are beautiful and loved; and, if your teacher is bullying you, know that it is coming from something lacking within herself.
You can’t tell by watching this episode because I turned off the camera while people thought of an answer- but this was by far the hardest episode to get strangers to answer! Almost everyone struggled to think of something that stood out to them. A lot of people came to the conclusion that the reason they had a hard time thinking of the kindest thing they’d been told was unfortunately because they didn’t remember them as vividly as the painful things they had been told… or that maybe people don’t say random kind things often. Either way, it made me really sad. I hope you all enjoy this episode! Let me know what you thought of it down in the comments :]
"...And the lecture you deliver may be very wise and true, But I'd rather get my lessons by observing what you do..." What you do through your videos is inspiring! The thoughts you provoke with your questions, good or bad, give people the opportunity to think and grow as a person. You're an amazing human being! Thank you for what you do!
Here's what's crazy though: it takes us a millisecond to recall the most hurtful thing someone has told us. But we generally have to really do a long haul scan on our long term memory to decide what was the best. Sad that it's not the reverse.
If you think about it: if it takes us a long time to think, it means we’ve been told so many kind things, that it takes us a while to choose the kindest one.

The kindest thing somebody told me was: '' Your hijab is beautiful. '' and this came from a complete stranger who wasn't muslim. I live in Germany and it made my day. Now i feel more confident and started to love myslef.
Oh Yes to hear that in Germany makes me feel happy too.. especially in Germany where the politicians are discussing if the hijab should be banned or not. In Germany where the people normally look at you repulsive. In Germany where women with hijab were unsulted from random strangers and where men spit at women with hijab. And sadly I experienced all of that. But yeah to hear something like that is very significant in Germany...
@@feyzaoz8431 i am so sorry you had to experience that. It is so awful and sad that some people can't seem to accept and respect other people with their different cultures and religions.
I always wanna tell people this, but I’m too intimidated and concerned with offending. Thanks for sharing this! I’ll be sure to speak up next time! I LOOOOOOOVE them, you all look like goddesses!
I’m very late but Me and my friend were at a pool and we were playing a game where we had to guess each other secrets about each other. My friend asked me “who’s my best friend?” I replied, “Jake?” He smiled and said back *“No silly, it’s you”*
I’ve actually met the woman at 0:22 . She worked at a clinic near me and she was so sweet. I wanted to say something to her about her scarf and how it was brave because I first met her sometime after the 2016 election. She has such a sweet spirit.
Go tell her if you can find her again. Everyone needs that kind word from time to time. She's helped to inspire you, so let her know that her presence, her memories have made an impact on someone, somewhere out in our huge little world.
Actually I am so sorry, but it was her decision. You shouldn't do anything. It's her life, not yours. If she wanted to kill herself - she should can do this.
Ktoś are you serious??? SUICIDE is mostly for being bullied or feeling as if they don’t exist, THAT girl telling her not to die is just showing why she shouldn’t kill her self . Your just as bad as the evil spirit inside of her telling her to kill herself !!
@@takeurmedsbae I don't know what made you write this, but watching a person commit suicide without trying to help them is like you committing a murder. People are often pushed to the verge of killing themselves because they have been struggling mentally for so long, often deprived of love. Saving a person and telling them they shouldn't because you care about them is a godly thing you can do. We need to try our best to help them even if it seems hopeless at the end.
The lady at 7:00 surprised me by her answer. Not because of what she said per se, but because the question was "what's the kindest thing you've been told?" Rather than making it about herself, she made it about her daughter. Even in this little example it shows that she thinks of her daughter before she thinks of herself and I think that's really selfless of her.
I never thought I could ever be loved romantically. After 22 years of being single, I got my first boyfriend. So, the kindest thing a person ever told me was when he looked me in the eyes and said "I do"
Two things: 1) "I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for you" -my friend that I talked out of suicidal and 2) "you're the best friend I never had growing up" -my mom
"I missed you." I stayed home from school for a mental health day. When I came back a girl I talked to said that it was kinda boring and that she missed me. I teared up a bit. We're best friends now.
One time I was just in the grocery store, and I smiled at a very withered looking old lady, she looked like she had a rough life, with sad eyes. She looked at me and said “You have the most beautiful smile. You just made my day. Thank you” It made me tear up 😪
"Ok... your room's still a mess and I'd appreciate you tidying it up" -My father when I had my coming out... so simple but it just gave me so much security and comfort in that moment I'll never forget
Oh my goodness...that made my heart skip a beat. If only that could be everyone's experience. Also a good way to get you to keep your room clean. How could you refuse after that? :)
I feel like this is the best response a parent could give to their child... When I had "the talk" with my dad, he told me that he didn't care who I brought home as long as I'm happy. I had never mentioned my sexuality and didn't know at the time that I was bisexual, but looking back on this moment, I felt that's the best thing he could have said to me
"Don't be sad. I love you like the sea and the sky" That's what my baby sister with down syndrome told me. The thing is I was so depressed at the time but I was fighting each day and I never let it show and would always play with my baby sisters (who are twins, both with down syndrome ) I would take care of them and paint a smile on. When she said that, my tears immediately rolled down my face, but I felt like I could smile for real for the first time in years.
“You’re the smartest most hardworking guy I know” - My professor I’ve always been insecure about not being good enough, ‘cause I used to get verbally and emotionally abused by my dad telling me “you’re not good enough” “you’ll never be like other people’s kids” “you’re nothing but a burden” on a daily basis. And that’s why it stuck with me, it was the only thing I’ve never heard from my own dad.
I was a new mother and a 6 year old boy (a neighbor's kid) told me that if I can take care of my daughter I can do anything in the world. It just blew me away and gave me so much warmth in my heart.
Once I was told by a complete stranger that I was really beautiful. Anytime I ever felt ugly I always thought of her words. I've been wanting to pay it forward since then and compliment a stranger but I often feel too awkward or creepy saying it so I just say nothing. To anyone reading this though, I think you're beautiful. Also, try to compliment more strangers, it might totally make their day and maybe stick with them for the rest of their lives. (Just try to do it tastefully so you don't come across as just creepy)
I saw a girl once with the most elegant nose. She had a big square bump and it just complimented her face so well. It made me wish I had the guts to compliment her, but I was so scared she would be weirded out or would take it badly.
"Did you know that you are my first ever grandchild? DId you know that? From the moment I saw you I knew you were born a leader." - My Grandfather (in a Kenyan accent)
i started crying because i think the second guy. he was talking about how his dad told him how he was proud of him and i was filled with so much jealousy and sadness because i’ve never had a father figure and it just hits really deep.
That wonderful statement from his father hit me hard, too. It's no secret how much it can mean when a father speaks loving, kind benedictions to his children in that way. May the Lord bless you, heal your hurting heart, and make you one of His own adopted sons so that you forever experience the care and love of the Heavenly Father:) By the way, I'm a grown man with kids of my own, and I still enjoy the fact that my sister calls me "Bubbie" 😉
"You are a really good person" -my Dad to me during our father daughter dance Me to him: :" i'm a good person because you are a good person." **tears**
"Don't worry about me just focus on your studies and your future i will support you no matter what, even if i have to work in such an old age" - my mom
the kindest thing i’ve ever been told was in eighth grade my friend Jacoby wrote me a long ass heartfelt letter and ended it with “keep living. you are my hero.”
I grew up without a dad in my life, this year my algebra teacher, Mr.Soto seemed to be the only teacher I’ve had in my life that seemed to care about his students. So after a class on the last day of school he wanted to talk to my parents. I told him I don’t have a dad, and he told me “you will forever be one of my kids” and it really touched me because I realized I did see him as a father figure. And he wouldn’t talk to me like a student he would talk to me like an actual living being, he would always ask how my day was and if I wanted to talk I could talk to him about anything that was going on, so I’m forever grateful for him.
When I applied for my first job out of high school, I gave the worst interview and couldn’t answer a few questions because I was so nervous. But I was polite, and somehow, the interviewer (who became my first boss) decided to hire me. I always try to do my best, but I had a low opinion of myself. They trained me and helped me develop people skills, I was so grateful. They were one of the first people who gave me constructive feedback rather than just criticism. After about two years, out of nowhere, my boss said, “I’m so glad I hired you.” and it was so kind of them because they were the one who built me up. It made me feel like they saw my potential even when I couldn’t.
People who are nervous and polite tend to follow instructions well because they listen carefully and work hard to do what's right. Your boss sensed you were trustworthy and humble.
Somebody once told me, "I want to be like you." Knowing myself, including all my flaws, i was pretty surprised to hear that and it really melted my heart. Made me think i must have been doing something right.
Me too. A lot of people say the want to be like me but I have never really allowed myself to enjoy and appreciate that, because of my insecurities. In retrospect, I think that is the kindest thing people have said to me.
@Nina Barakat thanks, i'll take that as a compliment, lol. i don't think the person was referring to my looks though. i'm sure she meant something else. 🙂
@Nina Barakat thank you. we're all beautiful. it's amazing how that's being highlighted in thoraya's videos. ❤️ sending lot's of love and good vibes your way. 🤗
The nicest thing anyone has told me is that my teacher, the sweetest man on earth, told me that I really reminded him of his mom who recently passed away. Her favorite color was yellow. She also said that she loved his eyes. When I was president for the day, my teacher helped me out because I wasn’t sure what to do. I was controlling the whole school, or at least felt like it (I was about 7 or 8 at the time). At some point, I told him that his eyes were beautiful and that I saw a tint of yellow in them. I didn’t know that that was when his mother just died, I just blurted it out. Later when I left the school, he told me the story and left me in tears. He is still my favorite teacher to this day.
the kindest words someone told me was "you are beautifull no matter what" this really touched me because i had a face full of acne and a self esteem that was dying...🖤
When i was 8, a woman on a bus came up to me, she was scottish and she said i was the "most adorable little creature" because I gave her my lollipop... If you're watching this. I love you very much, thank you miss.
“Don’t come back until you’re Prime Minister” - my great grandad said this as I left his house to travel back to university. He died last year. I now work for government and while I have no ambition to be a PM he made me feel so confident that I was powerful and could achieve a lot :)
The kindest thing someone said to me was: „Your parents are so lucky to have a child like you.” Yet my parents never said that to me or even something similar to that.
The kindest thing ever said to me was my husband: I need to give pretext. I was in an abusive marriage and got out. During that marriage and after I kept trying to be who people wanted me to be, not who I was because the ex always forced that on me. When I met my now husband we were talking after we got together and I asked. What do you want in a partner? What is it you are looking for? He said: I want you to be yourself. I freaked out, curled up into a ball on my bed and was hysterically crying while attempting to get out: But I don't know who that is! He just held me and said: That's ok, I'll be here when you figure it out. I'll be here while you figure it out. He said even if we didn't end up together as a couple he would be there for me. He was willing to step back from his feelings for me to make sure I was ok. He has been my husband for 9 years and we've been together for 11 years. He is the most caring person I could have ever asked for.

When we started talking, one day, out of the blue he said "I don't know if angels exist but I do believe some people come from heaven"
I said "I agree like people who are always nice, the ones who laugh all the time..."
and he added "the ones that give you chocolate out of the blue"
I was having a very bad day and he didn't know it. It was so unexpected, it was the sweetest thing.

-what’s the kindest thing you’ve ever been told?
Lady: the f word
Legit! It can be THAT powerful...
Funny but sad at the same time
You notice how it's hard for people to recall the "kindest" thing they've been told, but when they're asked about the "worst" they can instantly know exactly what to say
Same here. I know I've been told a kind thing but I can't recall
I think it's Psychological.
that's how our brain works to survive.

“I hope my daughters grows up to be just like you” - my economics professor
Here's the kindest thing I've been told:
I was 19 when I came out to a straight male friend, a dude. I was afraid that I'd spoil our friendship but I decided to let him know anyway and told him that I'm gay and he just hugged me and said, "So what, man, so what?". Then I started crying a little and he hugged me even closer. Then I cried big. Nothing has changed. We are still great friends. He tells me about his girls and women and I tell him about my boys and men😂
❤
awww thats adorable
same thing happend to my friend told me he was gay i knew it from the beginning but he came out and told he thought i would tell everyone but i wont he was waiting for my reaction but i said it doesnt matter you can be whatever you want hes still my best friend
I never met a gay person ,can you tell me if you dont like girls at all please?
Do you think that it's impossible for you to have a wife with the your feelings?
And also, you being a guy, and liking guys how do you see your body?
Do you think any event or circumstances in your life made you like this?
Please dont take it rudely, I just dont know
It's going to be really helpeful for me and others too I think

Aww man, my brain painted a whole scenario and I can bet your son must be a wonderful lil man 😊💖

“No matter what happens, i’ll still be here with you.” Me to Me while alone in the hospital for the 6th time that year.
Hugs.

My story is:
My ballet teacher has been bodyshaming me for years and the last time it was really hard not to cry during class in front of everyone. After the class I was fighting not to cry and one of the popular ones (they usually ignore me) came to me, hugged me and said "Are you ok?" I answered that everything was fine and she replied "I know it's not, but I hope you know you're perfectly fine and don't listen to that stupid teacher. Always remember that I'm here for you and ready to give you love when you don't love yourself."
I just cried in her arms, but it was the nicest thing somebody told me...

NIA ALDC I hate your teacher
this brought tears to my eyes.

Wow.... that is so sweet. Sorry for your loss.
Here's what's crazy though: it takes us a millisecond to recall the most hurtful thing someone has told us. But we generally have to really do a long haul scan on our long term memory to decide what was the best. Sad that it's not the reverse.
Bold of you to assume that I remember anything someone told me
Yes human's mind is weird
You could look at it in the way that they've been told many kind things but only a few hurtful things
So true and so sad
If you think about it: if it takes us a long time to think, it means we’ve been told so many kind things, that it takes us a while to choose the kindest one.

Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor Sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there that can intercede in His presence except as he permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. Oh Yes to hear that in Germany makes me feel happy too.. especially in Germany where the politicians are discussing if the hijab should be banned or not.

Not because of what she said per se, but because the question was "what's the kindest thing you've been told?" Once I was told by a complete stranger that I was really beautiful.

@@anieti006 i heard it only once. and that's probably why i felt really touched and it became something that stood out for me. 🙂
@Nina Barakat thank you. we're all beautiful. it's amazing how that's being highlighted in thoraya's videos. ❤️ sending lot's of love and good vibes your way. 🤗

This channel is so underrated, it deserves more subscribers and views honestly
This reminds me of when I was little, I used to think my mom’s eyes looked like sunflowers
the kindest words someone told me was "you are beautifull no matter what" this really touched me because i had a face full of acne and a self esteem that was dying...🖤
Me too. Someone told me that once, i went home and cried. Haven't heard it since but I'll always remember that one
When i was 8, a woman on a bus came up to me, she was scottish and she said i was the "most adorable little creature" because I gave her my lollipop... If you're watching this.
I love you very much, thank you miss.

Sadly that changed....
Trevor Blake damn I’m sorry dude
Well, Nothing is mentioned about NOT CHANGING FOREVER... so :/
“Don’t come back until you’re Prime Minister” - my great grandad said this as I left his house to travel back to university. He died last year. I now work for government and while I have no ambition to be a PM he made me feel so confident that I was powerful and could achieve a lot :)
The kindest thing someone said to me was:
„Your parents are so lucky to have a child like you.”
Yet my parents never said that to me or even something similar to that.
I see you
Much love! Same here. I now focus on my amazing friends and keep my distance from my adoptive parents.
Maria respect your parents
The kindest thing ever said to me was my husband:
I need to give pretext.
Reading this just made my day. I'm so happy for you! I'm glad you have someone who cares so deeply!
@@angel-bluehorvathveselinov1516 Thank you, so do I. I never thought I would find someone like that and I did and it is amazing. I am so happy I found him.
