Yes, end of an era, it did go to a mid twenties guy so maybe it will spark new interest among the youth… on the upside the CLK 55 is really cool and I just got a ‘95 CL600 to fill the void of seat belt presenting Sacco coupés
@@AutoAfflicted awesome man. I love anything v12 related. I hope you give it a louder exhaust. Lol. I had a clk430 and absolutely loved it bit i hit a deer and it was written off
Even though Mercedes is one of the few manufacturers that still make good looking cars you really can't beat that era. Germany was firing on all cylinders during that time.
Love this car. Been on the hunt for 4 w124s. A diesel wagon, 190e cossie, 500e, and 300ce…. These are just the pinnacle of car manufacturers. They don’t make em like they used to. If you find someone around with any of these lmk!!

Will you upgrade the ignition to R8 individual coil packs?? The 24v m104 can be a bit of a headache but the 12v... Ooh baby that's where it's at. You are from Germany tho so probably an abundance of parts for good prices...??
@@sjaakvanderelst3084 I actually wanted to leave the ignition original. Why could the M104 a bit of a headache? Please explain it to me. The Parts are quite expensive, in germany and the german TÜV says no 😁
Hahaha 🙏🏼 - it seems like around 12-14psi you would need your augment fuel system, above that I believe the head will need stronger valve springs and pistons should be considered… but also the drivetrain at that point as well

The m102 can be turbo charged in the same way and does well. Not quite as much power gain as the m103… I believe Kangaroos team does have a turbo manifold for the m102
Hey, UA-cam.... Why does the notification comes 2 months after the fact? .. You suck YT! All the best AA with the new CLK 55 project. . Can't wait. . Cheers,
Got a 1988 W126 300SE and considering going down the turbo route as in your car. Do you need to upgrade the head gasket or can the stock one handle it.
The stock gasket can handle boost, I opted not to upgrade mine at first and did have a gasket failure mostly due to the gasket getting corroded when the car sat for 8 years prior to my ownership… when the headgasket goes, the turbo will likely go due to polluted oil.. and the flush process to get creamy coolant oil out of the engine is a pain and cost$$ plenty for flush fluid, at least once full flush of oil and the rebuild. If you have the time and $, refreshing the front and top of the engine and fitting a new upgraded headgasket is well worth it
Definitely not to everyone’s taste. For the steering wheel, I didn’t want to spend $1200 on vintage wheel or $350 on a knock off, mostly I’ve had positive response. And the headlights, these were a temporary and very polarizing solution on the way to finding euro glass for a good price… people either loved them or hated them.
I was just wondering what your saw, the car had a cheap paint job at some point.. def looks better than if it had 30 year old paint and bad clear coat but it’s not great
i have one 300CE stock from the original owner just with 150k kilometres. Very nice and smooth. Cheers from Spain!
Such great cars!
I have the same😍 cheers🙂
Looking good.
Just got back from a 4 week holiday and was happy to see another upload of this car. I was then sad to hear you say that its sold

Yes! The CLK55 is basically built as is … but the CL600 I just got needs some mods
They also love being Supercharged, which I have had 3 of in the UK, 2 of which I did myself.
That’s cool, I was not aware of the supercharger option
@AutoAfflicted It wasn't an option from MB, maybe AMG. The 2 I did I installed Eaton chargers.
love it
I bought a 190e I thought it had a 4 cylinder but I’m pretty sure my 2.6 has the m103 ? So now that I know that should I build it ?
