I got the idea from a 603 with no intercooler we have 2 of them 87 sedan 300d turbo and a 87 300td wagon the setup is so simple and right to the point we've done this to a few gas motors and they all run and drive great
We normally do it's easy BUT most people don't have an engine lift and the bigger tools this is just a easy diy style for most. Just make sure you clean the hell out of the tank
Yes always but this is just a quick and easy way to get it done if you don't want to remove the engine to take off the pan is all if you get a boroscope you can clean it like that as well that's what we did here
On the oil return line from the turbo, what's stopping you from simply drilling and tapping the oil fill cap on the valve cover and dumping return oil there? I don't think anything there would be upset with the extra feed and it would go back to the pan without any worry about cavitation and sloshing, as well as the shavings. And it would be 100% reversible with a $10 cap. I definitely haven't tried this, just thinking out loud.
Turbo oil drain can not go upward from turbo, if it will oil wont just immidietly flow down drain in turbo but it will collect in turbocharger and be able to go past seals and into exhaust and intake side of turbine wich will result in huge oil consumption and a lot of smoke. When you make turbo oil drain make sure the hose goes downward all the way from turbo to oil pan and that at the place where it enters oil pan it is still above oil level.
I will turbocharge my 300sel too.I will use the cis but i have to relocate the cis and use flexible pipes for turbo setup.Air has to be sucked through cis to turbo not pushed to cis😂
@hamlulit I think the 103m has 160-180hp or something na. So for every bar of boost we increase it by 2 times the power so 160 would be around 320 at 1bar or 14.5psi of boost. The size of the turbo is important as well and I don't really think you'd want to do more than 7psi, at least that's what I've read. 7psi would put you at 270hp I think 270-250, you need a tuner. I assume they say 7psi maximum online because you'll run out of stock injector beyond it or blow a head gasket. There is virtually almost no limit to the amount of boost depending on the turbos size though, if it was all forged, a 160hp moter could take 5bar or more multiplying it's power 5 times 700hp+.
@@thebenzhouse some very useful content especially the oil pan plug. if you know anything about modifying the cis injection a video on that would be much appreciated too !
