David, this is the most concise explanation of the traditional "fat over lean" method I have ever seen. More importantly you've applied it to acrylic painting. I'm very familiar with the method as it relates to oil painting but this is the first time I've seen it effectively applied to acrylics. As you stated, "That's an acrylic painted cloud and it looks like oil." This has been a true epiphany for me relating to acrylic "fat over lean". I can't wait to use the technique. And not just for clouds! A million thanks for this!

The best lesson on painting clouds I have found. Thank you very much, I really appreciate. Learning acrylics after painting in watercolors for 30 years, need to change many techniques. Paint consistency is the key, you are quite right!
You just opened a completely new chapter in acrylics for me. My clouds are still more furry balls but no longer blobs 😂❤

May I just say, David, apart from the excellent tutorial I find your enthusiasm infectious and so motivating! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the tricky subject of painting clouds; I tend to avoid clouds but now I feel I'm ready to tackle them. This is the best lesson on painting clouds I've come across!
