Art is learned. This is an age old question asked by billions of people, the ones that 'make it' are the ones that don't give up. thats the secret answer you are looking for. You can't get to the destination before you have set off....

And the finished product nobody can tell if it was projected or it was hand penciled. That's why they all do it. LOL thank you Andrew appreciate you more than words can say. Love your humility! Love your unselfishness, and I say again your honesty!
Thumbs up for using a projector. I also now use one after 30 years of gridding large canvases to transfer the image. I also find it useful to project an image onto different sizes of canvas to find out on which size the image works best. Sometimes I am surprised to find that the image doesn't work at all and I have saved myself from starting a painting that was going to be trouble. On large canvases empty or dead areas become apparent that one doesn't notice on the much smaller reference image.
I challenge people who called you out for "tracing" a projection to come up with results as great as yours using the same technique. Some people just love to find faults in others to make up for their lack of talent and work ethic.
Even if he was using a projector, he is still painting with his own technique to achieve such results. Some ppl can use a projector, but not have the skill to paint as he does. But its obvious with how articulate he is, he wouldn't need a projector anyhow. Not that artists who use projectors are in any way hacks. I don't see anything wrong with using a projector anyhow. Who cares how somebody has come to complete a painting? The matter is, they did it using their hands, a paintbrush, and their painterly skill. Everyone has their own creative process and its honestly no petty art snobs business to critic. Let your work speak for itself and no one can say anything.
Yeah I agree with you. Also some people don't realize that artists have been using projection devices and tracing techniques for hundreds of years. Its nothing new :l
I have used several methods, including Projectors to get a outline. found that you will get many destortions you have to compensate for! never used a digital projector! How good is it? Colors by projector are very "washed" out, so you much enhance and add more intense color. It's alright to use aids! your talent is in the final rendition, in which Andrew is an expert! Aids give you more time for the details and enhancements! I've developed a " raised surface" texture, simulation to embossing, to give it more of a 3-D look! Amazing results, especially for rocks and trees! Still wish I was as good as Andrew Tischler! Learned something new already!!😊❤

Sonetimes time is of an essence. I agree with you Andrew, there is nothing wrong with using technology with your art. Back when I was in high-school I did the largest painting I had ever done and I didn't think I could complete it in a short period of one full semester ( 3 1/2 months) so I was hesitating until my art teachers showed me how to use a projector to trace my drawing onto the large canvas. With the help of technology it took me only a week to draw it which allowed me the rest of the semester to paint it. It was awesome and I loved the end result. Love this painting too. It's heavenly. Be blessed! :)

I am so incredibly amazed and grateful for your generosity, with not only with the price ($60.00 for 2 full videos, Milford Sound alone is over 7), but also the amount of information you pack into both videos. Both scenes are just breath taking and your detailed insight to all of your thinking, techniques, and execution of your brush strokes, paint mixing, materials, and so much more is clear and informative. The price for what you are offering is a steal. Thank you! I highly recommend these two videos to anyone reading this comment. Take advantage of this limited time offer. Talent personified. And loads of patience sitting on it and meditating. At such an young age to render such monumental works is pure joy. May God bless you. As much as we enjoy nature we also marvel at God's creations like you.
Omg, the detail in the rocks
Thanks Andew, great, great painting of Milford Sound. I'm Carl Tappin from the UK and I've been following you closely with all your painting demonstrations. My wife and I are traveling down under on a cruise from Sydney Oz to NZ south island and visiting the famous Milford Sound. Unfortunately the cruise does not include us stopping off and saying gudday at your studio, believe me I wish I could. Thank you for giving me lots and lots of tips and guidents with my paintings, A big thank you.
Carl.
"EPIC" is the perfect descriptive word for this video. I bought your video, which is really two full videos for the price of one, plus an additional 30% off. I think the two for one deal ends today or soon, so for those of you wondering if you should get it, I say definitely YES!!! Also, it would make a wonderful mother's day gift!
