Last summer I enjoyed watching the clouds in the evening and some evenings there would be the clouds that would be backlit and I did wonder what would be the best approach at painting them. Lmao! This guy's great, don't get me wrong. But he's not a super human experiment, he's a regular man who has honed his skills. Of course others can replicate this, it's why he's taking the time for teaching. I believe anyone can be an artist, if they are willing to invest years of their life to learn and harbour dedication and love for the craft. Not trying to undermine this artist. Just as an artist myself I get very tired of the "oohh what talent! I could never!" Because it implies that myself or any other artist can just do it naturally without any effort, when the reality is we commit a great deal of effort and our time on Earth to learning how. I used a mix of Brilliant Yellow (an Old Holland color) and Vermillion Red (Rembrandt).In a later stage I darkened it with a little Sepia and Indigo, both Rembrandt colors.

In my experience they shed bristle mostly in the beginning. I have a special (old) fan brush to pick up hairs from the wet paint surface. Patience...

Thank you! I let each layer dry overnight. That's the advantage of using a fast drying medium!
