So glad you enjoyed the gummies!!!
It’s a fantastic recipe! I made it for my family & it was a hit!!!
It is on my list. I just got some beef gelatin from Azure so I'm excited to try it too! (I have some jellies that didn't set in the canner that I plan to use)
I did the same with my unset jellies and kids loved them.

I like the idea of making as many of the things we're buying from the center of the grocery stores. Like candies/marshmallows, cookies and crackers. And any other snack like foods that are so high in bad fats. Home made everything is probably more healthy. People just seemed to be healthier before fast food chains and big box stores. Before pre-packaged convenience foods. Which is just about everything in a grocery store.
My daughters love homemade gummie bears. I ended up buying large gummy bear molds off Amazon. They're about triple the size of the little gummy bears.
My favorite way to make them is also using fruit puree. Usually do half juice, half puree with a touch of honey to sweeten.
Chelsea, you are the woman across the room.........truly amazing
You will love the Ankarsrum machine. My mom had one for about 40 years. It was called Assistent by Electrolux back then in Sweden. Get any accessories up front because you will enjoy the machine for a long time.
My mom made the marshmallows from scratch when we were kids. She would include cocoa powder to double the chocolate flavor with hot chocolate. They were always a hit with everyone.
That sound yummy, great idea!! Unsweetened cocoa powder?
Just love the colour of your cupboards. 😊
Thank you! 😊
I was just thinking the same thing! ❤
So glad you all made it through the Arctic blast❄️. Happy and the animals are doing just fine as well. 💞
If you top the pony wall with a shelf that hangs into the family room your little ones could use it as a low table for crafts or snacks.
I don’t have little ones anymore but if I did that’s a lovely idea.
@@LittleMountainRanch Future grand babies…
Marshmallows made with maple sound pretty great!
I love your channel! I am at 8000 feet, so your info is so helpful.
I love u Chelsea u are doing so magnificently hope your Chanel grows even further u deserve all the success in the world Dan is so hard working and u two just mellow together in a good team
For hot chocolate I use quality cacao and only milk😉
All on my list to try! Thank you!!
So cool!! And no egg whites!! My allergy to egg whites flares so bad when combined with sugar!! I’m excited about this!!! Thanks🥰
Allo! It is so cold here in Montreal... Must be colder in youe area.. Ill tryed your receipes..look good
Those marshmallows look scrumptious! Don't feel bad if they don't toast over a fire, and they may, but they are a much better choice!
Thank you for the tour of the family room, updates, information, education, and entertainment, engagement, and leaving in, the very human rubber scraper fall. 😊
They look amazing
I make elderberry gummies and I use raw honey to sweeten it and I just warm up the elderberry juice quite warm and then as it cool stir in the honey so I don't lose the nutritional value of the raw honey and then the gelatin and for them into those molds. My understanding is that three of those is a serving size for a child I don't know what the serving size would be for an adult you probably wouldn't want larger gummy bears. I usually take a handful of them like maybe five or six and suck on him and let them dissolve in my mouth otherwise I take a shot of elderberry juice daily when I remember it. very beneficial
I just bought an ankasrum! Please share your journey with it! I just made bread with ours ...its SO COOL! Like a potters wheel...for baking! Lol!
Thank you! You are just wonderful. I love the way it feels like you are so communal in your endeavors. Even though we are only watching you for the most part, I never feel like you are the only one working hard. You are a hardworking strong woman that gets stuff done. I totally agree that making from scratch often takes less time than going to the store and back. I can't wait to try the marshmallow for my granddaughter.
QUESTION. I am interested in your seed course. I don't have a large cash flow. I'm wondering if purchasing a lot of equipment is part of the course?
Thank you so much for your kind words.
No! No need for fancy equipment although I do share my grow room and how I use that space, the equipment isn’t necessary for a good garden! Hope to see you there.😊
Here in Tennessee we got 8- 9 inches of snow. We never lost power but been without water going on three days. We were prepared. Rumor is we will be getting the big daddy snow in feburary. We are ready for that also.
I have stumbled onto your channel & am SO impressed with all that you accomplish in your day! I would like to make a suggestion, if you don’t mind. Buy yourself SEVERAL more sets of measuring cups & spoons & leave one in each of your freq used containers. I keep a 1 cup in my flour & a 1/2 cup in my sugar. I keep a teaspoon in several other containers. If you had extras at your baking counter as well, it would cut down on your steps back & forth, plus you don’t have to wash & dry in between. I just leave them in the containers of dry ingredients all the time.
I only had 1 child so I am blown away by your accomplishments. Stay healthy & thanks for sharing your busy life!! 🩷
I will have to try the marshmallow recipe!! I find that cooking from scratch has become a bigger part of my life since semi-retiring...and whipping up a few pumpkin sage biscuits to have with turkey stew doesn't frighten me like it used to (worried about failure I guess) As for salad dressings, we haven't bought prepared dressings in years. Even hubby has become quite good at mixing up a dressing in minutes and they are so versatile and easy! Thank you for all your inspiration, Chelsea - I just love this community!
Great show, love watching Jessica too. Both you ladies are very interesting too watch.
I bet rice krispy treats with homemade marshmallows from maple syrup would be amazing!
A tip for making candy(boiling sugar syrup) is to put a lid on the pot until all the sugar crystals dissolve. The steam washes all the crystals down into the syrup instead of them sticking to the sides and causing the syrup to be grainy.
Hey Chelsea. Great video, I love that I could make elderberry gummy’s. Every time I watchJessica making gummy’s I want to do it. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep warm 🇨🇦🌷
Down here in Princeton we had one day of -40 then 8 inches of snow.
Wonderful tutorial, tours & a fun visit in your kitchen! Glad your weather didn’t get as cold as us in Central Alberta. I think it was around -50 C including the wind chill for a few nights. Blessings to everyone 🤗🇨🇦
💚 Thanks, Chelsea! Love seeing you make the Gummies like Jessica at Three Rivers does..I've gotta try that too. Marshmallows look great! 💚
I just finished making marshmallows and hot chocolate bombs! (Literally just finished in the kitchen and saw your notification), now that I’ve had homemade marshmallows I’ll never eat store bought again, they’re so good!
I have the same thermometer and find it’s very sharp around the edges, gouged a chunk out of my thumb while wiping it a couple weeks ago, just something to keep in mind!
Oh my goodness that's awful. Why would they make it so sharp. I think that's an oversight on their part when they developed this product. It's not meant for cutting so it shouldn't have to be that sharp.
Chelsey you can send your kitchen aide in to be rebuilt. I have to send mine in also.
Good idea! Maybe her daughter in law could use it?
Wonderful instruction in your videos. Very relaxed and calm, I really enjoy them. Thanks and stay warm. 🙂
Wow! I am so eccited yo see how you are taking this "Pantry Challenge" to include eben gummies snd homemade marshmellows
I am loving the brightness the new cabinet colors bring to your kitchen background 😊. I use a lot of mayonnaise because our favorite slaw dressing (Marzetti) clone recipe is mayo based. I make a LOT of it to use in cabbage slaw, potato salad and pasta salad, deviled 🥚, etc. I prefer to use store mayo because it has a much longer shelf life, and I can make bigger batches to store in my fridge. Also, bought mayo is safer to leave out at room temp😊
I use A dry powdered milk Which Is 2 cups to my recipe1 cup of Powder And it calls for 2 cups of icing sugar for sweetening but I cut this in half because it makes it too sweet! It is a really good recipe to try!
Yum. Now I'm in the mood for hot chocolate with marshmallows.....
I'm in PA, USA & its cold & snowy here also. ❤
How very exciting to see you, and learn from you, making soo many from scratch foods. I have got to try the marshmallows and gummies!!!😋😋❤
my mom used to make marshmallows when we were kids. You have re-inspired me to make some with my grandkids, and then maybe some gummies. 😊
Great video!!
Lol!!! My mom called those bubbles "buttholes". Trying to teach my brother how to make fudge on the phone...he knew when they were close to done. We always use a thermometer and would put a small bowl with ice water. Drop a teaspoon or so, and you'll be able to tell how your candy is setting.
I'm glad to read you get your seeds from High Mowing since the price of seeds and shipping cost is very reasonable in comparig to other seed companies. With our short gorwing seanson, I waiting to find out what peppers you grow before I buy seeds. Glad to hear everyone and the animals survived the cold.
Not long ago I bought an Ankarsrum too and I love it. It is my first stand mixer, I hesitated to buy one until I found about the existence of this one. I love that it has nice accessories too.
You are such an inspiration to me. One question is why not make the hot chocolate with all milk? I was surprised when I saw you use water as the base?
Where do you get your mesh bags for your potatoes from for storage?
I am enjoying your UA-cam shows. Was wondering if you have a favourite steam canning recipe book I am having problems finding one. There is a lot of water bath ones but the timing is different, and I need the shorter times. Thank you in advanced.
enjoyed watching you make these all from scratch, Love your channel!! stay warm..
My boys love gummy bears so I may try that recipe. Seems easy enough. Thanks for sharing it.
I've made marshmallows with honey and cane juice but never maple syrup. Thanks for the inspiration to try something new. If you hide them from the kids for a day they will be even better, in my opinion- they dry out just a tiny bit and the texture improves.
I've never thought about making marshmallow before, i may try. Thank you.
So enjoyed this:) What fun for sure. Changing things up and creating new is very healthy for our souls, and as always you inspire me. hugs and luv
We just got the molds yesterday- going to make gummy bears today! Thank you for the ideas and demonstration- my 7yo son saw this episode and has been SO jazzed to try this! ❤
Oops- this was meant to be a post on the main thread! 😅
I'm definitely going to try the marshmallows and hot chocolate I love both of them. Thank you for sharing
I wonder if you could puree a peach or two in the juice you use for the gummies??
this will be my first year gardening as a beginner and i'm excited to take your course! love the planner and i'm thinking of getting a cute notebook to compliment it as my field notes 😆 ❤
I just ran out of store bought marshmallows and I wanted to try some homemade ones so this was great timing!
Hi Chelsea. I note that ForJars has kindly put their canning lids on Amazon so UK (that has an Amazon Prime) trade deal with the US can purchase lids without import duty and postage. Such a blessing for us UK canners!
Hope ForJars will read this appreciative comment…. And (if I don’t ask I won’t get) would they consider putting their canning lid opener in their Amazon shop too? 😀
Love your videos Chelsea. In case you didn’t know already. 🤭
Where are you? I am going to buy a canner but am scared to use it 🙈
@@SteffieWeffy1You can do it! It’s actually really easy if you just follow the guidelines.
@@SteffieWeffy1 Are you in the UK?
You’re the best! This was a fun video!!!!❤
I’m so inspired to try making marshmallows now!
Oh my. You have got to make some flavored marshmallow ie; raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, peach, pineapple . Not for cocoa mind you but other desert recipes. You may get inspired enough to do the Cheese and Butter! Can’t be that bad or hard you have the milk for sure! I’ll keep watching to see what you come up with!!!
You can pour the gelatin in a pan an just cut it up
I'm so glad to see that you finally have powdered yourself! LOL If I made those marshmallows, my whole front would be dusted with icing sugar! I make my own salad dressings and spice/herb mixes and since you grow so many in your garden already, it would be so easy to make most of them. I find the exception being anything with some warmer spices since I haven't grown cumin, paprika peppers or chilis for powder.
LOVED THIS VODEO.
You could also use coconut instead of the icing sugar
I would buy marshmallows.
Looks so yummy!! Haven't even thought of making marshmallows from scratch. Definitely going to now! We got two feet of snow here in northern Michigan and hot chocolate has been a fun treat.
Salad dressing - would love to see you make these
Blessings!
Great makings!!
Great video 😊
Hi, I’m new to all of this and I was wondering if you could tell me which type of absorbers you put in your dehydrated food jars
Enjoyed the video 😊
Yummy 😋
I make "jello" with wild grape juice, elderberry syrup and magnesium. My hub. thinks it is a treat, but doesn't know it is medicine. Note: just make sure you get the right gelatin!!
Hi Chelsey!
Hi!😊
You guys really do beautiful work. Love you huys
you go girl🥰
Pam here…so excited to see how you like your Ankarsrum Mixer! It is my dream mixer too and on my wish list. Was researching mixers and stumbled upon them a couple years ago…and I was like their design makes sense and every person I saw use it seemed to have an easier and less messy time using it. Looking forward to you making some videos using it..
I too would've purchased this mixer - if it had been around 50 yrs ago. We're only on our 2nd KA tilt-head in 60+ years. We're in our 80s now and make 4 loaves of bread every other week Gone are the days of 3 children & 8 loaves a week!
❤
I wonder if you could freeze dry the marshmallows
The Ankrashom (sp?) is like my Bosch. Both awesome mixers.
Ankarsrum?
I can’t wait to make the hot chocolate! Could you provide a link to your Organika gelatin? Thanks!
Would love to see your whole family at dinner table like I do 3 rivers ranch does I see them walking in your kitchen but it's dark not light
We don’t share our kids online anymore. Just a personal decision, no judgement to anyone else who does.
I make my hot chocolate with hot milk and cocoa powder with a sweetener. Water would make it too thin for my liking. Enjoyed this video.
I wonder if you shop the grocery stores now and walk away from items knowing you can make them at home for cheaper? It’s a constant battle (in a good way) I have at the store. I have to also weigh in my time with a young family, so if I can get something that has very few ingredients and is relatively inexpensive vs my time I will still pick up those small items. Our grocery bills when I go are much more because I buy in bulk, but my items last so much longer in our pantry. Very nice video and I am sure my 4 year old would love the gummies!
We make our hot chocolate with milk instead of water. Maybe it is a Texas thing...
Did make elderberry gummies?
Have you ever taken apart and greased your mixer? Mine was getting hard to raise up and I saw Kevin from Living Traditions Homestead take his apart and greased. Last winter I did mine and it’s so much better. I looked thru my book and found no mention of having to grease them. Just a thought for you.
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
I wonder if you could freeze dry to preserve the marshmallows out of they would blow up and make a mess. I’m guessing if one cut the marshmallows small like minis it might work. Hmmm.
Can i use a regular meat thermometer? Maybe it's too hot and it would blow up?
❤❤❤
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
There should be a lifetime warranty on your kitchen aid My friend found one at a thrift store and was able to send it in and they sent her a newer model that they had refurbished She loves it.
I bought one at a thrift store and fixed it myself. It needed a worm gear, I replaced it and greased it back up and it works great!
Are your bees doing ok in the negative temperatures? You haven’t mentioned them in a while (that I can recall).
Hi Chelsea! Why don't you just pour the mix over the mold? If would it not be faster
Just wondering do you have bees?
Can anyone make out the gelatin used? I don't see it on Amazon. (Organika)? Is it beef?
What is the difference between mayonnaise and miracle whip
