I anticipated Brooke would want more cows. She and Mildred certainly bonded during those bottle feedings. Watching Brooke and Jason working together truly warms my heart. They are certainly my definition of a Power Couple, a loving and devoted Power Couple.
Maybe we should all have a bit more Southern Raising in us. Might make us all a bit more respectful of our Mates. Me included.

I love the idea of Gus and Loretta going to the forest for the summer months with the male goats. They would actually uproot the privet and the poisen ivy as well as stay MUCH cooler at the peak of summer, and frankly be less bored because of all the work opportunities in the forest.

Love seeing the animals in their elements. Holly was so enjoying her time. It’s a tough time going through the loss of a loved one so prayers are continued for you and your family. The cows brings back the memories of my mom and her beloved 4 that she had. She passed in 2020 right before COVID breakout and when I see your two cows and how they’ve become such pets is the way it was with my mom. Have a blessed day!!

There's a song recorded by a quartet -- I know that the two "main members" of this quartet have passed away, and the lead vocalist on a song that is so uplifting passed away while in his early to mid-forties. The quartet is The Cathedrals Quartet, and the title of the song is "Homeland". It's a very inspiring, comforting and uplifting song for those who are mourning a loss. The vocalist in the original recording, Roger Bennett, was born in Strawberry, Arkansas and he got a lot of good-natured ribbing from George Younce. I had a goat farmer talk me out of getting goats. We began our homesteading journey in our late 40's. We are now in our early 50's. He sat us down and explained how hard they are to keep, and recommended cows.

Poison Ivy! Be sure to bath Holly if she laid on the poison ivy. The worse case of poison ivy I ever got was from holding my dog after being in the woods.
Mildred would be a great mom bred with a miniature cow. Use one of those that have curly hair. Brooke you could really spoil that. Love to the family.

Great idea to give goats more browse. I come here for the peace and comfort. It reminds me of sitting under the trees, or on the porch, of our NE Texas place listening to our elders talk. I’m 75 now and still enjoy a good shady tree or porch. 🙂
