thanks for your comment my friend. yes, you can do it but I would be concerned about the damage that can occur to the pulleys and libs using the "screwdriver method". the press is way better and safer for your crossbow and for you too!

That wooden thing you're using
the wooden thing is only a sawhorse but you can use a table or a workbanch, a vise. as long as it is stable it doesn't matter. on the other hand the "green device" is the crossbow press and is made out of square steel pipes.
