8:30 - could you mount the supports pointing the opposite way? i.e. backwards so the DD is actually further away from you? Might be useful for someone like me with limited space.
Hmm it’s possible SimLabs has changed the spec slightly since it got mine. If you look at the web page in the video, you can see this bracket is specifically listed as being for CSL DD. Also my rig, the GT1 Evo has had a few revisions over the years so it could be a different width to yours.
Sparco R100. It's quite comfy and it reclines. However recliners aren't very good if you have very heavy brake pedals as it will flex. www.demon-tweeks.com/sparco-r100-seat-247484
I do and the rail of profile it's connected to. It's actually fairly quick to switch it back in, between the rig uprights so I'm keeping spare should I want to quickly mount a different device.
@HamVR haha nice nice. Thanks for the replay. Yeah, I ended up ordering the same rig in its basic stand fourm. I installed my CSL DD, and the template paper you can print from Fanatecs website is wrong. So, I managed to do another cardboard template with a pen, ruler, a level, and a pair of dial calipers 😂🤣😂🤣
It's marginally more rigid. The problem is it transfers any flex to a different part of the rig (i.e. the uprights) instead of the original wheeldeck. It does offer more range of movement and slightly easier adjustability.
All good so far... The only potential issue is if you plan to have a very heavy brake pedal. The CSL Load cell kit pedal is as heavy as you want to go with this seat. Brand new there is back of seat flex with that pedal, but once the pedal beds in the seat is fine.
@@HamVR if you had sold it for say 30 bucks, saved 80 with that unnecessary upgrade of the GT1 EVO, the shifter would be 150 euros. I got the exact same setup, and think its just fine with the stock mounting plate. Once you find the right distance and angle for the wheel, it's not like it's moving anywhere... But hey, I thought about it and found your video instructive. Fanatec's shifter is good though, had the g29 before too. Worthy upgrade IMO. Looking forward to your CSL load cell video which I ordered. 👍🏼
Thanks for the video.
Your uprights deflect much more than mine do and I have the same rig.
Check that all of your bolts are tight 👍
Very good test of the rig flex. I like it.
Hahahaha!! Don't be a hero!
One day you MIGHT be faster than me 😜
LOL
FYI: you can get a pair of truss/foundation hangers for $3...then use car spray paint.
If you add some additional strenght to the rig make a video to compare the flex. With the podium mount there is still flex for sure.
Will do 👍
Looks great I use the gt omega prime
Nice 👍
he has a Simalube dd...wearing a speedo will make you faster!
will this bracket fit/work on the gt omega prime/prime lite??

Looking at it, I don't think mounting them in reverse will help as the back of CSL DD will then be closer to the desk than the uprights.
How come you dont have to use spacers? This is made for the DD1 which is a little wider. I csnt mount mine wirhout the spacers.

What are the exact length measurements with the Wheelbase installed?
Stupid question to ask but what seat is that u are using looking to upgrade mine ??

Lol you wouldn't have that original plate still ??

Does this mean you're considering the DD1?
haha I don't think so. If I did it would be the PlayStation version, but I'm more likely to switch to the GT DD Pro if it's available on it's own.
Is it better as the normal

How's the seat treating you so far?

where did you buy the shifter plate ?

I would have upgraded that ugly ass shifter of yours first...
The Fanatec shifter is €259.99 + shipping and import duty. The G29 shifter is fine for how much I use it.
