i have the rtx 4070 super is good on vr?

Mine keeps blacking out and wobbling constantly on quest 3. Edit: I have the best laptop on the market with a 4090 and it lags the whole computer making it crash constantly. what the FUCK is wrong with EA?

I run into a strange issue, I've installed the Meta link and air app. The headset and controllers show tracking in SteamVR, I even see the display of Steam home game on my monitor but not in my headset it stays black. I have an USB-C 3 and 2.7GBps speed cable connected to my RTX 4080 laptop, it also passed the green mark brand BlueBuilt BBVRC001. What could the issue be?

Great video got it to work great even just being wireless in the PC (no Ethernet cable) and the headset. My only issue is trying to get my VIVEPort ID so I can add them to it.

Hi great video - Does the debug tool have to be running for its settings to take effect? I cant set what I want then not bother starting it up after that unless I want to tweak?

Anybody tried viewing 3d movies or 360 photos/vid with this headset? Sony doesn’t have app for those on PS5 and I’m just going to use it with PC with 1060 card for 360/3D photos/vids

Hi @HamVR , I am interested in using vd's new MR functionality so I can see my wheel while driving in VR. I was wondering did you ever try to setup VD wired with USBC to lan?

The pain of going through this setup makes me think that vr will never take over. Even the most polished game out there, HL Alyx is a hit and miss when launching and often puts me off from playing it. Sometimes it works sometimes I need to try different things which can take half an hour. Add the Steam on top of it and yeah, you will be literally left steaming (now I get the name). The state of VR is absolutely horrendous and standalone headsets look like Q3 I own are a joke in terms of content and are also pretty uncomfortable. It's a gimmick at best, expressive ones too and totally not worth the money. Saying that I can't imagine playing Alyx any other way, it's a game changer which sadly did not change much. Don't play it without vr, you might as well watch it on UA-cam it is that much of a difference. One is experience one is not.

Bit late, but great explanation of this software and its uses especially in gaming/streaming for me, I really wanted to learn about setting affinity as some games on alder lake cpu's has minor intermittent stuttering so setting an affinity to odd cores really helps and stops the minor stutter. I would have assumed at the high resolution of VR the 4090 would have well and truly spanked the 3090 as I would have thought you would have been all GPU limited. So is this just an I racing thing?? I currently have a RTX 4080 and have been thinking about getting the 5090 when it came out as I thought I would see a massive gain in VR and Iracing>? but maybe I wouldn't after watching this video. I also wanted to swich up to one of the new 8k oled VR headsets due next year - but looking at this not even a 5090 would run them in Iracing???

I got a Gygabite x870 elite wifi 7 motherboard expecting to use the USB4 type-c 40 Gbps ports, but the oculus app says it is only a USB 3 1.5 Gbps. I even got higher speeds on my old B350 motherboard.

AV1 encoding is only supported by RTX 4xxx, Ryzen 7xxx and Intel Arc, anything less than that will only handle decoding. I have an RTX 3080 and are forced to use either H.264+ or HEVC (H.265) - I would recommend H.264 as it gives you a smoother experience at a little cost of image quality, compared to HEVC which on my system stutters like crazy.

Hi @HamVR, Are you going to sell some organs and get the Crystal Super with a 5090 next year? The 50 ppd model with 135 fov looks interesting. It would be nice if AC EVO would support Quad views to have a chance to run a 4k per eye hmd at native res.

Hi @Hamvr, could you let me know your vr settings in the game? Having problems with anti aliasing especially with shadows on the road. I have a pimax crystal light, used to run the older 1.5 version at 120hz but now not getting anywhere near that framerate. Will drop to 90hz and see how that goes. Would you reccomend any other tweaks in nvidia control panel or game configuration files? Thanks

Stumbled upon your video, much appreciated, looking to make my move to VR next year. Build me a full motion platform a couple of years ago (DIY SFX-100) and I can tell you, once you got that, driving without feels like sitting in your car at a parking lot making engine sounds 😂 Because my body gets the input from the platform I hope not te get sick using VR, I will know in a couple of months. Fantastic review. I do have PS5 with RE4 and RE8 in my library, but also have PC with 2080ti , so should be able to run without adapter, but is that GPU powerful enough to run Alyx or Flight Sim? PSVR2 is £335 right now Quest 3s is only £275 Quest 3 £470 My IPD is 71-72 The only headset I had in the past was PSVR1 and I enjoyed Re7 or GT Sport, but tracking was really bad, move controllers were crap, stupid camera and processor unit.

Hi, thank you for making great informative content!! I got the quest 3 and 2 and an index running on an 4090. I still run the index becuase of the stability and no need for controllers. It never fails, just always works. But i do miss the resolution from the quest 3. I think i would use it more if it worked more like the index without need for controllers and activating link manually every time. Just start the game from steam and put on the headset and i'm good to go, just like the index. Is there anyway i can get the quest 3 to work like that? Best Regards
