  • Here's how to use a slidehammer and rear axle bearing puller kit to remove the rear axle bearings from your vehicle.
You can usually rent these kits at your local auto parts store.
Exercise all due caution when performing this procedure.
    Thanks for watching!

The only think i dont see in this kit is the small hook attachment for pulling your pilot bearing. The Lowes kit has them. It also gives to 2 different hub puller attackments.

I have an 02' Blazer ZR2 w/ the 8.5" rearend & G80 Locker. I'm having a whining sound & it starts at 25mph & gets louder the faster you go.
I thought it was my rear drivers side, but not! I rented one of those slide hammer pullers from O'Reilly for $109, then $70 for the bearing installer tool. I'm thinking i may need to tighten up my yoke because most of the noise is coming from my diff. I have zero in/out & up/down play in rear drivers side but i have in/out play in my passenger side rear.
The G80 locker & everything inside the diff was nice and clean. No chips or shavings. I just cannot find this rear noise that started out sounding like a low power steering fluid noise, then got louder as the wheels roll. The yoke, u-joints, etc. are all tight & no leaks or clunking sounds. This has me scratching my head. lol

Anyone that has done this on a chevy silverado 2016rwd ? Had an incident where the tire fell off the rotor from being jacked up and slided to the floor and the plate behind the rotors ended up on the floor and think it might’ve damaged my bearing since the truck feels wobbly like if the tire is going to fall off but its on there lug’d tight any insights?

I have a repair bearing that will not come out, even with the slide hammer. That sucker is stuck in there like it’s welded or something!!!!!! Any advice for that

Torch/apply a good amount of heat to the axle not the bearing itself, and try again.

I bought my kit on Amazon. Search for (rear axle bearing puller tool) and (slide hammer 9-way internal/external) and you need also a (seal installer bearing driver kit) to install the new bearing. I hope this help.

Dana 60 157000 miles had to beat it like a redheaded step child. Not as easy as yours but all good!
