Been to many concerts at shoreline with him including metallica multiple times, ozzfests, every metal band I could of wanted to see or we listened to we seen together at shoreline. Name it and we probably seen them... from Sabbath and Ozzy to Rush and Skynard. So many good times and memories and so grateful I did it all with my Dad. He's the reason I started guitar and shown me all this great music watching sabbath and zeppelin documentaries we would rent at block buster..... man ;).. Now I'm living 1000 miles away in Iowa... And yeah, he ain't lying shoreline badass

And this kiddos is why Metallica are thrash legends. 1986 thru 1992 were their absolute peak years where the aggression and speed, combined with top notch melodic songwriting gave us perhaps the finest moments in this genre of music, bar none. All of them were on fire here, and extra props to Hetfield for the killer rhythm parts (while singing)!
Man this is probably one of the best recorded performances of this song ever. Late 80s Metallica is my absolute favorite, I love early 90s Metallica but there was just a level of aggression in these shows that the bigger post black album performances lacked
What's kinda annoying is, when they end Battery in Seattle, it's identical to the first Chug.. Chug.. of damage Inc. Honestly thought they were going to go for it when I heard it but unfortunately not 🥲😂
For real, he was pretty damn good by any metal drummers standard for the time period. Sucks he stopped caring for awhile. Hes been playing much better these past couple years though.

Lars started to suck ass but he was still doing coke. He's amazing here! Also cocaine only lasts for less than 2 hours, and in many interviews Lars has stated that he always stays sober for a show, and that typically if he was drunk or high it would mess him up. He's also stated that he used to play incredibly fast because of just how nervous he was for a large portion of their career in the 80s, he was actually a pretty shy guy in the beginning, and only really used coke to make him more fun at parties. Not for shows. Yet people just make this bullshit up yet again to hammer on Lars as if he's never put in any natural effort
I'd say Disposable Heroes is. This song gets plenty of recognition compared to the rest of the early albums when it comes to longtime fans, but I hear absolutely zero people talking about Disposable

To be fair, its a big amphitheater, and the spots down front are a decent amount away from the stage and you can't mosh well with the built in stadium seats there.
Metallica at this point in their career played with such a purpose. Everything they did seemed to be for the sole purpose of proving that no one else was even remotely on their level.
