My 13 year old son was battling cancer for the 3rd time, and he and I would sing this every day at the top of our lungs in the car on the way to the transplant hospital for his daily treatments. He survived. Every time I hear this song, I think of those times. When DMB played it live a few years later while I was at their concert, (my first!) I called my son on the phone so he could hear it live. Thanks guys.
Update: Thank you, EVERYONE, for your love and support. My son is doing well, all things considered, and I’ve now been to 6 DMB shows- 3 of them we flew out of state. All because we started to play “You and Me” in our car all those years ago, which I know in my soul helped him to survive..😊😭

My finace died the day before Thanksgiving in 2020. This was going to be our first dance. Today was the first day I got threw the whole song without breaking. I found him passed of a cardiac arrest. Well, I am 79 and this reminds of the first time I listened to them in 1993. My dream is to see them at the Gorge. What a band! This song brings tears even at my age.

I’m laying in bed at 1:00am, and for some bizarre reason, this song came into my head and I had to hear it. I haven’t heard it in at least 3 years. When I was younger, my mom would play this and we would sing to it. I remember going on long drives and my mom would play this song on repeat just to annoy my dad. I completely forgot about this song until now, and I’m so happy I remembered it. Tomorrow, I will make my mom play it, and we will sing!

My father introduced me to Dave the moment I was born (2004) Constantly overplaying it and overplaying it until I finally understood what I was missing. I love this band with every fibre of my being and I have for YEARS. Carter got me back into my drumming, I owe so much to these guys and I can’t wait to see them again at my next concert!

I don't think that's the problem. The problem is that its either not getting enough attention as it did back then, or its a turnoff for people who listen to modern music.
My Dad loved every single Dave Matthews song. I woke up to it every Saturday morning. My Father recently died on January 9th. Ironic how it was Dave Matthews Birthday. This song was my parents song when my elder sister and I where babbies.

My girlfriend and I listen to this song in the car when we were on our way to Acadia National park. It was bucket list to go there and I cried listening to it. I especially cried when we saw DMB in Gilford, NH and this song was played we sang at the top of our lungs and we held each other through the whole song. This is such a beautiful piece of music and I cry every time I hear this.
