    Lyrics below:
    Well I came home
    Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
    These days of dust
    Which we've known
Will blow away with this new sun
    But I'll kneel down
    Wait for now
    And I'll kneel down
    Know my ground
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
    So break my step
    And relent
You forgave and I won't forget
    Know what we've seen
    And him with less
    Now in some way
    Shake the excess
'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
    Now I'll be bold
    As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
    So take my flesh
    And fix my eyes
A tethered mind free from the lies
    And I'll kneel down
    Wait for now
    I'll kneel down
    Know my ground, woo
    Raise my hands
    Paint my spirit gold
    And bow my head
    Keep my heart slow
'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

See...the reason they are so good live is because they aren't electronic. It's rare to see modern bands actually playing ACOUSTIC instruments. Not saying there aren't others...but it's rare.

    • @Kaarel456
      @Kaarel456 9 років тому +28

IcyblueGaming Not being electronic isn't the reason. They are musicians who know what they are doing but they also have a really experienced sound crew behind them. Also on the video there is quite a lot of work put into it that it has a really good sound to it. Also the video sound =/= the sound you would hear actually being there. Live sound depends on ridiculously many factors.

Your absolutely 💯 right about the energy & joy. I saw them at LCA in Detroit on Wednesday. Broke JayZ attendance record and the attendance, atmosphere, the stage was the same as the delta video at the O2. It wasn't this album but Delta, & it was truly one of best experiences of my life. Almost spiritual 🙏 ✨️ 🙌. They come up in the crowd & play. I was right there. Feet away

    Dear Mumford & Sons,
My name is Emma and I live in Ireland. I first saw you at Electric Picnic in 2010 and I just fell in love with you! In 2012 I went to see you in Salthill Galway (during my leaving cert) with my dad after my mother bought us the tickets. It was one of the best days. In 2013 my boyfriend brought me to see you in the Phoenix Park and it was by far the best day off my life. I was just mesmerized and it was just so surreal. You seem to only get better! I suffer from Cystic Fibrosis and spend weeks in hospital at a time. Before procedures when I'm nervous I put in my earphones and listen to your songs to relax me. In April this year my Mam passed suddenly at the age of 40. My heart broke. The nights I felt most down I listened to you guys and it just always makes me feel better. My dad got me tickets this year to see you.. I'm currently in hospital and im hoping to get out Tuesday so I can go see you in Dublin Wednesday. I just want to say thanks for being you! Stay glorious

Dec 2018, my wife decorated our mountain house like every Christmas for the last 40 years, she was very happy but she said she was not going to put a Christmas tree up that time... 5 days latter I got a call, she was at a hospital.. me and my son drove on I-5 north to Sacramento, we found her in bed on life suport sistem..I was not sure if she was abble to heard us saying good by, I gave a signal to the doctor and left the room... We came back to an empty home, cold.. very cold, weeks latter she came home to stay in the grounds, the Beautiful gardens she love do much recived her for ever.
You see, I was told in 2004 by our doctor that she only had 6 months left to live, God let her stay 14 more years.

I have been a huge fan of Mumford and Sons since 2008. I've seen them in concert five times (front and center, twice), and was absolutely crushed when Winston left.
I just finished watching his speech and his passion is incredible! Who knew that there was this roaring lion lying dormant in the shy, playful, comedic "Winnie" that we all saw - and knew and loved - in those early interviews all those years ago?! He has such a brilliant mind!
Somehow, though, I don't think Nancy Pelosi would agree with me, and most likely wishes that he would have just stuck to playing the banjo!

When I listen to this song, my heart aches.
My Beloved Baby Brother died 1/4/2020.
He was a Soldier, a career Army man.
He died when he was only 47 years old.
    Jamie was deployed 3 times.
Twice to Iraq and once, the last time, to Afghanistan.
He was a Combat Engineer who cleared explosives, IED'S, Landmines etc. Think the movie, "The Hurt Locker".
He was Awarded the Army Metal with Valor, multiple Purple Hearts, and many others.
When I heard this song, I thought of my brother.
After reading others comments, I see how other people relate to this song in so many different ways.
As for me, I thought about when my brother was deployed to Iraq for the first time.
He left behind his wife Anita, a Special Needs Teacher & their two little boys who were only 3 & 5 years old.
The 1st time he was Deployed, we weren't allowed to see him off.
So, the day he was deploy to Iraq, one of the soldiers came to his home & picked him up.
He, his wife and 2 little boys stood on the front porch and said their tearful goodbye's.
It was late October in New England, & it was cold outside.
Well after the truck had driven out of sight, Anita went to bring the boys inside.
Connor, who was 5yo went in the house.
Ryan who was only 3yo, wouldn't go in.
Anita knelt down to ask him why he didn't go inside.
With a serious, thoughtful expression in his big brown eyes and tear stained face.
He looked up at his Mom & said, "I'm going to stay right here and wait for Dad to come home."
Gently, Anita said, "Ryan, remember Dad talked about how he was going to be away with his Army Family for a while, then he'll come home?"
"We made the calender with Dad, to mark off the days till he comes home."
In his serious 3 year old "grown up voice", he said, "Yes, but I'm still going to stay right here and wait for Dad to come home."
"Dad will see me & he won't forget where we live!".
Talk about heartbreaking! Military Spouses don't get the recognition they deserve!!
Neither does the less than 1% of the eligible US population that serve in the Military!!
At night, I look up at the stars and I talk to my brother!
Sometimes I text him, or I'll call & sing him "Happy Birthday" or just to chat.
It's been 2 years now and Miraculously, even though the phone is not registered or hooked up, my texts and calls still go thru!!
I like to think my brother makes it happen!!

Love how in the moment the band and the audience is. It's like everyone truly and completely belongs in that moment and there's no past, present, future but just the music and sensation of 'existing'.
Which is really quite rare to feel, every moment just kinda fleets away but some rare moments you feel your existence is imprinted in the history of this universe. That you've lived all your life in that single experience. It's ephemeral but so damn worth it.

Gabriel...I hope that your sadness hasn't lasted long. My wager is that you are young and fell pretty hard for this guy...the pain will subside soon enough. I had identical experiences many years ago - then on November 24, 1979 I met 'him'. Our pairing was totally out of balance: He - 18 years old, I - 34 years old! However, something was inevitable about our being together - love is too 'weak' a term to use that would describe our relationship. Against the odds we will celebrate 40 years as a couple next month - November 24, 2019.

My first cat that I've known since I was born died 2 years ago at 17, it took me a year to get through that grief, I remember him by the song Glorious. I owned another cat last year after my cat before Be'lal died and her name was Masana, she didn't even live till 1 before dying also 2 years ago, and I haven't been able to give her a song, but this is her song.

My high school sweetheart, fiancé and best friend passed away on his birthday, August 29, 2016. Not only was Mumford and Sons one of our favorite bands, this particular one was “our song”. It played when he passed away (we were suppose to hang out so I was in my car waiting on him to pull in my driveway but he never made it). Since his passing, I hear this song on his birthday and on mine (6 days apart). 10 years later and this song still soothes my soul. ❤️

    "I Will Wait"
    Well, I came home
    Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
    These days of dust
    Which we've known
Will blow away with this new sun
    But I'll kneel down,
    Wait for now
    And I'll kneel down,
    Know my ground
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
    So break my step
    And relent
Well, you forgave and I won't forget
    Know what we've seen
    And him with less
Now in some way shake the excess
'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
    Now I'll be bold
    As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
    So tame my flesh
    And fix my eyes
A tethered mind freed from the lies
    And I'll kneel down,
    Wait for now
    I'll kneel down,
    Know my ground
    Raise my hands
    Paint my spirit gold
    And bow my head
    Keep my heart slow
'Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

Why does this song and clip remind me so much of growing up in the 70's?
It just has this magic, nostalgic feel to it that makes me think of camping and caravaning down the rivers where after dinner everyone would get together and next thing you know a guitar or two and maybe some drums and a keyboard would appear and we'd all just sing along around a bonfire while the kids all played.

As beautiful as the music is, it’s really the lyrics that make this song transcendent. As a Christian, they really resonate with my beliefs and seem to portray the Gospel in a truly beautiful way (whether it was intended or not). For example the lines “You forgave and I won’t forget” and a “A tethered mind freed from the lies” just cut so deep.

This song is such an incredible expression of how so many of us have felt, are feeling, will come to feel… and when you can’t always find the words - it’s music like this that deeply resonates because it says all the things we don’t know how to begin to convey - music for me is a drug for expression, because it’s the most freeing feeling to connect with a artist or song - that sums up an overwhelming emotion or experience deeply personal to you - yet you’ve never even met this artist / person. The connection is deeply powerful in that sense. As an artist in a different medium , my respect love and appreciation for music has carried me from a young age to adulthood , with a better understanding , more compassion for others and it’s a friend I can always count on.
This is definitely on the list of life songs you should have.
