My first job at 17 was at a Burger King . I remember closing up my shift at the store and this song coming on the speakers. It would be 5 pm and I would look up and see my mom waiting in the bench outside for me. We grew up pretty low income and only had one car, which my dad used for work. She would walk from our apartment to my job at the ending of my shift. Afterwards we’d grab some decaf coffee and talk about our day. I’m 30 now and had my son in June. She passed a month later never getting to see him. I miss her so much it hurts, I think about her randomly sometimes and the shock/ pain starts flowing back in. Even though we didn’t have much growing up, her love kept me so happy I didn’t need anything else. Love you Aummi RIP.
The souls that we cherish are the most beautiful the most fragile we see the pain and can't fix it leaving us gasping for air .. My mom died with a beer in one hand and a straw the other dying the way she lived with no boundaries no judgements I see her now laughing among the stars. She worked hard her whole life never getting past the 5th grade due to severe dyslexia living life thru such a small scope never knowing anything but poverty and disappointment. Kiss your son sing this song and Know in an Infinite Universe with Infinite possibilities you determine your happiness if you want to draw zombie comic books draw them if your happy making homemade soaps make break free of The Matrix and CREATE
Thank you beautiful soul for sharing this. All I have to offer my kids is love and I worry that it isn't enough. I hope my children can think of me the same way you think of your mother when I'm gone. May her spirit be blessed and be felt forever more.
I lost my Mom in 2004 to breast cancer at 56, and this song never fails to bring me to tears. I love you Mom, and I'll meet you somewhere between Venus and Jupiter one day.
I lost mine in 2015 and I always think of her when I listen to it. She is off doing her own thing and I will see her again. Just like you will. So sorry for your loss
I'm 67 years old and have a disease that may prove to be fatal. Through God's grace I'm gonna go to heaven! My sons will play this at my funeral. It's so full of joy and grief and enduring love. UPDATE ON MAY 17th 2021:Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. The prayers are working. My late Christian mom who was born half-Jewish would credit my Jewish genes 😊. I can now stand for a long time and walk a little. I'll get full neurological testing soon. I send all of you much love. Thank you God and Jesus I love and praise you. I am humbled that you are sending healing love.
@@kienwage1009 Hi dear! I have a weird neurological disease and the doc hopes to rule out corticolbasal ganglia degeneration which is fatal within about 7 years. I'll have to wait for more tests. Right now I haven't fallen on 2 months and feel better. You're so sweet to ask!
@@emrythompson No thank you for caring dear. The neurologists are trying to rule out corticolbasal ganglia degeneration which is bad news. I still have to wait for more tests but I feel good and haven't fallen down for the last 2 months or so. So far so good!
Anyone else crying ? Wow this song floored me. I've never heard it before & it's so beautiful. A glorious way to pay hommage to a deceased loved one. Although, I don't believe that "heaven is overated" this song is a true masterpiece. RIP Dad.

lyrics: Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's time to change Since the return from her stay on the moon She listens like spring and talks like June But tell me, did you sail across the sun? Did you make it to the Milky Way To see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated? Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star? One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there? Now that she's back from that soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation She's checked out Mozart while she does Tae Bo Reminds me that there's room to grow Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly So he never did land But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet? Did you finally get the chance To dance along the light of day? And head back to the Milky Way And tell me, did Venus blow your mind? Was it everything you wanted to find? And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there? Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you Even when I know you're wrong Can you imagine no first dance Freeze dried romance, five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had, and me But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet? Did you finally get the chance To dance along the light of day? And head back to the Milky Way And tell me, did you sail across the sun? Did you make it to the Milky Way To see the lights all faded? And that heaven is overrated And tell me, did you fall for a shooting star? One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself? And did you finally get the chance To dance along the light of day? Oh and did you fall for a shooting star? Fall for a shooting star And are you lonely looking for yourself out there?
thank U lovey.... Tis truly an important one. I actually use Yandex now because of the times that I want the music screen overlaid atop the exact same page reloaded as to read the lyrics while listening. My opinion for what's it's worth? This lyrically could very well be the very best; ever written! (?)...
After his mother died, one night during his sleep, he talked with her. When he woke up, that song was in his head. It is no mere tribute, that song is a gift from his mother.
@@TheRealShaanSolo Patrick Monahan said that-- almost a year to the day after his mother passed from cancer-- he awoke from a dream with her words ringing in his mind: "I'm back in the atmosphere". And that's what led him to write the song.
When my uncle passed away he wanted this song played at his funeral. He will be gone 20 years this Halloween, still can’t listen to this without crying. This one is for you Uncle Mike ❤️
not just this song brother, a whole array of song I've connected to my mother before her passing, all of which had ironic meaning of what was to come. Never met someone that reminds me of her, but im constantly reminded of her by random things; which gives me superstition that she's watching me, even though im atheist.
I have recently been diagnosed with menieres disease, losing my hearing and constant tinnitus. Making sure I hear this while I still can. Best record ever made? It's got to be up there. The strings make it.

I recently lost my son to an overdose. He had been sober over a year & it was so unexpected. He always told me I was his best friend. This song invokes the memory of the bright light, so full of life in his smiling blue eyes. I know we are pure energy and consciousness is ever expanding, never ends, that he's dancing among the stars & I'll be with him again soon. I love you infinitely & unconditionally, Cameron.💫

To the person who lost his brother, the 1st time I heard this song it touched my soul. I played it over and over for hours. Now when I hear it I'll think of your brother, and your love for him, carrying him out there, somewhere, beyond the stars. Peace and love be with you, the two of you have forever touched my heart as this song did many moons ago. See you both out there...❤❤❤

...i'm 75 and have heard some great music in my day but this remains one of the great all time masterpieces that will surely transit through the generations...
I hear ya... closing in on 71 and been through more musical fads & styles than I can name. Some songs rock, some calm... some sadden, some lift you up... some move your feet, and some move your heart. I haven't heard this one even mentioned in months, but just had to come play it when I did. Music is such an enigma, from superstars to one-hit-wonders.
This is a song that seems to temper my emotions when music invokes memories. It evokes some good so yeah. Let the wind sweep and dance beats dig a hole and drown in the dirt
Can you imagine your child writing such a beautiful song for you after you die? What a fantastic tribute to his mother and I hope she can somehow hear this every time it's listened to.

The early 00s had a lot of string sections in rock music. Basically the entirety of Beck’s Sea Change and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ By the Way albums feature a string ensemble.
@Rich Jake probably because of the 1000's of people commenting. Doesn't make any single one of them right or wrong. That's what is great about music, it speaks to everyone in its own way.
@Rich Jake Key words, "in my opinion". It does not matter who says it or how many people say it, what matters is how frequently one person says it. Otherwise, you have to account for your bias.

I dedicate this to my dad, he passed away 3 days ago at the age of 91. The funeral is tomorrow and I was thinking about him and this song popped up on my play list. He was always a sweet and tender man. I always remember him crying after he spanked me, we both cried, just for different reasons. His soul has winged it's way to heaven. Some Of the comments here are so gut wrenchingly emotional. Music is such a powerful tool And it warms my heart to know it helps so many people to come to terms with grief and loss.
Since a dear friend died suddenly at 21, this song has for me become her anthem. She was a magical, musical, whimsical soul who was taken far too young, and too soon. It was 20 years ago today that we lost her, but I can so easily picture her dancing along the light of day, with drops of Jupiter in her hair.

I grew up through hard rock, disco, hair rock, heavy metal, grunge, nu- metal, and every incarnation of music since then. Some bands are outside of a genre. Train is one of them. Just stuff that our souls need to hear.

It depends entirely on what kind of video you're watching. Discussions on videos on science or history or cats tend not to get too nasty. Videos on music from about the '70s and before tend to just have people who really like the music so everyone is like "they don't make music like this any more" "the music they make today is crap" "I remember when I was 12 and first heard this song" etc.

I so love this song. My daughter took me to my first Train concert in Indy & it was amazing. So when I went over seas for the first time by myself, I played this so much. Yeah, some people just need to give up trying to rule the world (don't look into one side or the other it stands for anyone and everyone that wants to rule over you) The world gonna burn at the rate it's going. It's time to drop prejudices and lies and seek truth and chill.
Pretty sure he's extremely existential with his word choice: "she listens like spring and talk like June" as a juxtaposition about his mothers spirit and the spirit of the universe. the fact that "heaven is overrated" lends me to the believe he's looking at the loss of his mother but her always being around the world he sees around him and his ability to both realize and appreciate it... but the ambiguity of the entire song is all is what makes it so beautiful...
Bradley, I completely agree with you. It's a song written in memory of a loved one who is no longer here, but it's not sad as you'd expect a song of its kind to be. It's basically saying that you should be allowed to mourn, but you shouldn't be sad and depressed forever, as that's not what your recently deceased loved one would've wanted. They would've wanted you to find joy again, to find comfort in the memories you have of them. As long as you have those memories, they're never really dead, and you should find joy in those memories, keeping them close to your heart. I wouldn't want my friends and family to be sad and depressed forever after I'm gone. I'd want them to remember me as a funny, silly, goofy, loving person who'd hate to see them so sad, 'cause that's the kind of person I am.
my guess is that it is about the Galileo probe. 1. Drop of Jupiter - Galileo probe dropped into Jupiter 2.Did Venus blow your mind - Venus flyby 3.Did the wind sweep you off your feet - when in Jupiter's atmosphere it encountered heavy winds 4.Now that she's BACK in the atmosphere - went from earth's atmosphere to Jupiter's 5. Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded - And are you lonely looking for yourself out there? - Tell me did you sail across the sun - Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey - This all suggests that space is being referred to. However this is just my theory

I remember this being one of my favorite songs growing up. I also remember learning it was about his mother who passed away and how afraid I was to loose my mother. Well.. it finally happened this summer.. it’s worse than I even imagined she was an amazing nurse , mother and friend who life didn’t always treat right. She deserved the world. Happy heavenly birthday mom 💕
Lovely words. I love this song too. I always feared losing my mother, ( who sounds like yours). In 1998 it happened. A terrible time for me. The universality of love and loss binds us all.
I lost my mom in 2009. I literally fell to my knees when I was told she wasn't going to make it. I spent her last night with my head on her lap just holding her hand. God how I miss that wonderful loving creature of God's best design. I was so lucky to have her for my mom. She always encouraged me and never cut me down. She was strict, but always loving. No one could have asked for a better mom.

I love how everyone has been through heartbreaks and came here to share our stories. We were broken, we were down but heck we didn’t give up. We survived through it all and here we are on this day. Keep going, be strong, life will bring someone better to love you. Cherish the good moments of nostalgia with him/her and lets move on. Love across to everyone of you.
Pat Monahan, what an epic song. Just did a little play through (J.5string bass & backup vocals, & that song is always just as intense as the first time I heard it. What a gift! Thanks
The first real love of my life, her name was Summer, we were in 9th grade. This song had just come out in 2001. And this was "our" song. Good times. Funny how a song can take you right back to when you first heard it.
You were truly rich to have such a loving mother. With your attitude, she must have been a fantastic parent. God bless you.
😢💔 my condolences
The souls that we cherish are the most beautiful the most fragile we see the pain and can't fix it leaving us gasping for air .. My mom died with a beer in one hand and a straw the other dying the way she lived with no boundaries no judgements I see her now laughing among the stars. She worked hard her whole life never getting past the 5th grade due to severe dyslexia living life thru such a small scope never knowing anything but poverty and disappointment. Kiss your son sing this song and Know in an Infinite Universe with Infinite possibilities you determine your happiness if you want to draw zombie comic books draw them if your happy making homemade soaps make break free of The Matrix and CREATE
that is so bittersweet
Thank you beautiful soul for sharing this. All I have to offer my kids is love and I worry that it isn't enough. I hope my children can think of me the same way you think of your mother when I'm gone. May her spirit be blessed and be felt forever more.
I lost my Mom in 2004 to breast cancer at 56, and this song never fails to bring me to tears. I love you Mom, and I'll meet you somewhere between Venus and Jupiter one day.
sorry dude i promise you will
Hey your mum is in paradise now only us down hear in this mad world keep safe mate peace be with you always ✌🕊🙏

RIP Dad.
How since 2003 have you never heard this song?

lyrics:
Now that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to change
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and talks like June
But tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way
To see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?
Now that she's back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation
She's checked out Mozart while she does Tae Bo
Reminds me that there's room to grow
Now that she's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane
Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly
So he never did land
But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance
To dance along the light of day?
And head back to the Milky Way
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind?
Was it everything you wanted to find?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you
Even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance
Freeze dried romance, five-hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had, and me
But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance
To dance along the light of day?
And head back to the Milky Way
And tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way
To see the lights all faded?
And that heaven is overrated
And tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself?
And did you finally get the chance
To dance along the light of day?
Oh and did you fall for a shooting star?
Fall for a shooting star
And are you lonely looking for yourself out there?
This will be played at my funeral. I had just finished listening to it and SPREAD YOUR WINGS by QUEEN was playing when my mother passed away.
thank U lovey.... Tis truly an important one. I actually use Yandex now because of the times that I want the music screen overlaid atop the exact same page reloaded as to read the lyrics while listening. My opinion for what's it's worth? This lyrically could very well be the very best; ever written! (?)...
Great work appreciated. Thank you

After his mother died, one night during his sleep, he talked with her. When he woke up, that song was in his head. It is no mere tribute, that song is a gift from his mother.
Damn
I. Didn't. Know the inspiration 4. The song
Paul Mccartney had the same type of dream. Mother Mary...is his mother.
Really???
@@TheRealShaanSolo Patrick Monahan said that-- almost a year to the day after his mother passed from cancer-- he awoke from a dream with her words ringing in his mind: "I'm back in the atmosphere". And that's what led him to write the song.
I think it’s beautiful how many people use this song to memorialize their lost loved ones.
When my uncle passed away he wanted this song played at his funeral. He will be gone 20 years this Halloween, still can’t listen to this without crying. This one is for you Uncle Mike ❤️
This song is a dedication song to his mother, I think we can all relate
not just this song brother, a whole array of song I've connected to my mother before her passing, all of which had ironic meaning of what was to come. Never met someone that reminds me of her, but im constantly reminded of her by random things; which gives me superstition that she's watching me, even though im atheist.
I think it's sad! Loved ones lost? IDK, don't think its what its about! Mostly it's about money!
It's an intriguing bit of trivia imo
14 years later, it's 2024, and this song still hits the soul the right way!

Right on that
@Andy20924 yup im 43 now and this song came out around the peak of alternative rock
The year 2024 hits the beautiful soul for them. And this song still has this one!

...i'm 75 and have heard some great music in my day but this remains one of the great all time masterpieces that will surely transit through the generations...

Train is underrated and needs more credit, everyone has heard their music
2 Grammys is underrated?
Train is 2 different bands... after 2003, all the members changed except the singer... I'd be honored if some Drops of Jupiter fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of MEET VIRGINIA by Train and A THOUSAND MILES by Vanessa Carlton on my YT channel in tribute to the great music of the late 90s & early 00s. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace out (as we used to say back then).

The production on this song is absolutely perfect. Whoever arranged the strings is an absolute genius. Incredible
Paul Buckmaster.
Perfectly done indeed!
Agreed on the strings. Beautiful, powerful, melancholy & touches one's spirit. Haved always really liked this tune.
The string arrangement won a Grammy, deservedly so.
The early 00s had a lot of string sections in rock music. Basically the entirety of Beck’s Sea Change and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ By the Way albums feature a string ensemble.
In my opinion this is one of the best songs ever written.
Agreed
Mine as well
@Rich Jake probably because of the 1000's of people commenting. Doesn't make any single one of them right or wrong. That's what is great about music, it speaks to everyone in its own way.

I DON'T CARE WHAT YEAR EVERYONE IS IN, JUST ENJOY THIS WONDERFUL SONG
I'd be honored if some early '00s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of MEET VIRGINIA by Train and A THOUSAND MILES by Vanessa Carlton on my YT channel in tribute to 2 of the most iconic songs of the New Millenium era. Live acoustic with no digital editing. Thanks and peace out.
Thank Music is music no matter what year
Yea, the late 90s, 00s definitely had the best two decades of music an then everything else under the 00s, music now well if ya wanna call it music is a disaster! Train rocks, always has an always will
This song will always remember our mother! Who we lost to de ath!! We love our mothers!!!
Yes...there is no year to this poetry tune...timeless....human...love...the search for life and death...everlasting.
My late husband love of my life. Passed two days past our 10th anniversary. I’m a proud navy widow. I also lost my brother three months before. Lord bless and keep their souls in your blessed grace.
May they rest in peace and may god grants you the strength. God bless you 🌸
God bless you!
Sorry for your loss, I can relate as my grandparents celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on August 12th 2007 next day my grandma passed away from a fatal heart attack.
I am sorry for your loss. Thankyou also for your family's service.
This song always gives me goosebumps, absolutely magical.
Some Of the comments here are so gut wrenchingly emotional. Music is such a powerful tool And it warms my heart to know it helps so many people to come to terms with grief and loss.
I agree ,music is a very powerful medium,I think that's why its been with us since our inception as sentient beings.✌😔🌎🌃👀🌈
I second this
funny, life....
Or people just bullshiting as usual and wanting attention.
This song could go on forever and I wouldn't mind a bit.
Yup it's my alarm song actually. Sometimes I let it run once or twice so I can have my faith in humanity restored. Haha.
I had a cousin die at 20 too, this was played at her funeral
And he is soo handsome 2!
I can feel you.
@@jimhabsfan the deep surge of feelings I get .
Sincere condolences for your loss. May she rest in peace. -_-
Can you imagine your child writing such a beautiful song for you after you die? What a fantastic tribute to his mother and I hope she can somehow hear this every time it's listened to.
❤
My beautiful 23 year old passed away and I played this at her funeral 2 days ago....she was the most amazing person I ever met but suffered many health problems but I never thought she would die at such a young age.... thank you for this song... we use to always sing it together. I much rather be with her than stuck here without her and just not sure I can move forward without her....
I'm so very sorry. All my sympathy.
So sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry. Be strong for her.
I cannot imagine your pain. I really hate this for you. You will be with her again.... It is written.
IM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS!!!
Without a doubt, one of the best songs ever written. An absolute gem.
Especially the "deep fried Chicken" line
This song inspired me to make a song that is inspired by love. If you want to listen to it here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/3Wo0zFPt_t0/v-deo.html
Thank you!
If it didn’t also sound like Drift Away by Dobie Gray.
Chorus sounds more like a prechorus
A little hyperbolic no? Best songs ever written?
This song never gets old for me. Still one of my all-time favorite songs to this day. They lyrics, the drums, guitar, everything is just chefs kiss 😘✨
I agree completely it just speaks to you
I just found out that for several parts of the song the guitar was actually taken out. You can see the guy playing but it doesn't sound, like from 1:14 to 2:00, to slowly come back up at 2:27. Check out this story:

The genius of this song was adding the strings to the arrangement. Turned a simple tune into a beautiful piece of music.
This song is the meaning of life.
I fall for the lyrics and music the same as when I was 18. The same parts of the song hit me, the same way they did, then. Thats when I know a song is in my soul. Its timeless. I'm 39 years old and still in love. ❤
The beauty of real music where it dives down deep and embeds itself in your soul.

Excellent music last more than a lifetime, this song is definitely one of them imo
Beautiful song , talent galore
Cleverly written

This one is for my dad. Covid got him, but he'll never stop dancing. Miss you Dad

I'm really sorry for your loss. Here from Peru, wishing deeply that this song helped you overcome the pain, as it does to me.

I grew up through hard rock, disco, hair rock, heavy metal, grunge, nu- metal, and every incarnation of music since then. Some bands are outside of a genre. Train is one of them. Just stuff that our souls need to hear.

My identical twin passed away Februaryv25, 2019. She wrote a little story when we were in 1st grade and it was about jumping on stars. This song reminds me of her and her amazing soul. I miss you, Flo! 5-8-78 to 2-25-19 I love you
Sorry for your loss Jessica. Stay strong and on the next warm clear night lay down outside and jump stars with her. Pease

Lord works mysterious Ways.
It depends entirely on what kind of video you're watching. Discussions on videos on science or history or cats tend not to get too nasty. Videos on music from about the '70s and before tend to just have people who really like the music so everyone is like "they don't make music like this any more" "the music they make today is crap" "I remember when I was 12 and first heard this song" etc.
words can unify
a fabulous shimmer, a glow in your heart, im glitter lucky. pink, orange, green, blue, yellow painting the sky with the colors of hope. theres always a chance for a happy ending.
It's weird right!?
I so love this song. My daughter took me to my first Train concert in Indy & it was amazing. So when I went over seas for the first time by myself, I played this so much. I would find myself dancing around my apartment in Singapore singing this song & even today 20 years later, it make me smile & makes me so happy. Now my granddaughter is loving it as well. 🙂
I've listened to this song AT LEAST a thousand times. Each time it brings a tear to my eye and touches me on a deep and almost spiritual level. Thank you, Train.

Lost my mom when I turned 40. I’m 58 now. I still think of her when I hear this song. I miss her so much. Rest in peace mama. I love you. 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽

I am so sorry
I lost my mom when I was 36 and she was 58 I’m 42 now and this reminds me of her everytime 😢❤
I just lost my mother.😢 My condolences to you too
Pretty sure he's extremely existential with his word choice: "she listens like spring and talk like June" as a juxtaposition about his mothers spirit and the spirit of the universe. the fact that "heaven is overrated" lends me to the believe he's looking at the loss of his mother but her always being around the world he sees around him and his ability to both realize and appreciate it... but the ambiguity of the entire song is all is what makes it so beautiful...
It's basically a metaphor.
that's a beautiful translation of the song. it gave me cold chills. (english major, btw)
Beautifully worded
1. Drop of Jupiter - Galileo probe dropped into Jupiter
2.Did Venus blow your mind - Venus flyby
3.Did the wind sweep you off your feet - when in Jupiter's atmosphere it encountered heavy winds
4.Now that she's BACK in the atmosphere - went from earth's atmosphere to Jupiter's
5. Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded - And are you lonely looking for yourself out there? - Tell me did you sail across the sun - Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey - This all suggests that space is being referred to.
However this is just my theory
I miss you my darling daughter, I hope you find yourself out there. Mommy's always here, look down on me sometime. I love you💓💓💓💓😥
My daughter Layla passed away also. I wonder a lot if she got to dance on the milky way

Tall and burly doesn't keep you from feejngl like crying occasionally. It cleanses us, and it makes it better for a while. (And women love a man who can be moved to tears. Just sayin'.)

❤
Sorry for your loss 🙏
Lovely words. I love this song too. I always feared losing my mother, ( who sounds like yours). In 1998 it happened. A terrible time for me. The universality of love and loss binds us all.
I lost my mom in 2009. I literally fell to my knees when I was told she wasn't going to make it. I spent her last night with my head on her lap just holding her hand. God how I miss that wonderful loving creature of God's best design. I was so lucky to have her for my mom. She always encouraged me and never cut me down. She was strict, but always loving. No one could have asked for a better mom.
23 now. Lost my mother when I was 9. RIP to that wonderful lady. It’s been tough for me and my little brother without her. It broke us growing up but it made us resilient.
My Dad passed when I was only 3 I really don't know much about him, although I've had so many questions this last decade Several years ago I had most of my right lung removed from lung cancer.. Yesterday I found out I have a malignant tumor on my left lung now. I'm oxygen dependent so surgery is not an option This is my 3rd cancer and for the 1st time I feel like I'm near the end. This song is more meaningful than ever, I'm excited that I will finally meet my dad and get to hear of his journey! 🙂
Though it's very difficult thinking about leaving my children and grandchildren I'm just 59 but otherwise tired and ready I would love for this song to be played for my Dad (he was just 34) as well as myself , I know that it's God's call not mine Just a feeling I can't shake God bless 🙏
So many losses! My prayers and condolences to all 🙏

This song means a lot to me. My brothers and I all slept in the same room, in our old house....and now we're all scattered, growing up...I just helped my brother move out.

I didn't know he wrote this about his mom. That adds a kind of sadness that wasn't there for me before.
