Get ready to suffer...Full CrossFit Quarterfinals Workout 2 (average athlete)

  • Second workout of Quarterfinals is complete! Somehow both shocking and not shocking at all...it was much harder than expected!
    Quick advice, approach it like a 20 minute AMRAP, because for many people that's what it will be.
    Also I'm approaching these with a fun mentality. I'm not trying to qualify beyond this. Just here for the community!
    I completed 253 reps.
    3 rounds for time of:
    50 wall-ball shots
    50 lateral burpee box jump-overs
    Time cap: 20 minutes
    ♀ 14-lb (6-kg) medicine ball, 9-foot target, 20-inch box
    ♂ 20-lb (9-kg) medicine ball, 10-foot target, 24-inch box

      lol I don’t think it needs to be that serious. She just dropped the clipped board next to her. It’s not like she threw it at her.

    Our whole gym is doing the quarter finals. Crazy tough, maybe toughest workout ever. I am impressed with your performance.

    I am proud of you for enduring the pain and not giving up. That looked so painful. Yet you did not stop. Thank you for your video. You were inspiring to not give up in the midst of so much pain.

    Well done so far Amanda on workout 1 & 2 - absolutely smashing it. So proud of your squat, it’s gone so bloody good and I never questioned the depth 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 class
    Also wanted to say thanks so much for sharing your workout so quickly with all the tips and approaches you took, I’m based in Europe so getting to see your workouts really helps me come up with a plan. I’m sure others are the exact same. So thanks for making these videos, they are so helpful, fun and interesting to watch.

    You beat me by 3 reps! Good job, I definitely ended up in the same position after finishing up lmao. I don't know about you but for me it was mostly my legs burning out. After one set I felt like I could barely jump onto that box anymore. The burpee was fine but the box jumps and wall balls? Oh fucking no.

    well, you did better than I did! This happened in my third crossfit session ever, lol. I managed 19 burpees in the second round 😅

    they are deep enough. i paused and you are correct about the angles..... if its close. you dont no rep someone ....you warn them and watch closer

    Amanda, did you hear somewhere that Castro was programming these workouts? I hear you give Castro credit on each video instead of Boz. What news might you have for us?

      Castro is back in the mix this year. It’s a group effort. So while Boz is the lead programmer Castro now has a hand in the programming again. And I feel like if Castro has a hand in something, it’s usually a heavy one.

    I haven’t kept up as much lately, but you keep saying “Dave Castro programming”. Did Boz not do these?

      Dave Castro is the “General Manager of Sport”…meaning he pretty much overseas the whole CrossFit Games season. He has a direct hand in all parts of it, including the programming the workouts. (He wasn’t in this position at this time last year). I believe this makes him Adrian Bozman’s superior. Dave has said he is involved in the programming. I personally believe if Dave is involved in something like that, he is *heavily involved*. He doesn’t seem like a “halfway” person to me. That is an assumption though. But he is involved in programming these workouts, which wasn’t true last QF. Although I will make sure to mention that Dave is not solely responsible the workouts in my next video, so people are less confused 😅 he’s just back involved, and these workouts definitely feel like Castro was involved.

      You can jump it square on, as per the rules on the score sheet a strict lateral jump is not required. Athletes may face the box.
