Sup Guys! Thank you for watching! If you're here to see the Axle Removal, go to 11:15 and if you're here to see the CV Joint removal to go 15:20
Thanks, brother. I'm here to see it all. Have a great weekend, Dustin.🙌
@@TheMick26 Thank you Mick! You as well!
Hey to make your life easy next time just remove the two nuts for the ball joint
Just a tip
@@alexalicea4725 Cool man, I'll think about that. I didn't want to undo the top of the hub because I didn't want to take the brakes off so that it wouldn't be hanging by the brake lines.
Great vid man, not looking forward to doing mine but I'm just gonna do all at same time. 27 years old and they are ready to pop. Thumbs up!
Thank you man! Yeah its not too bad just kind of frustrating when the CV's won't come off lol
Alright, Dustin. I think it's safe to say everybody hates messing with CV joints and boots. Just like in your scenario, it's usually 100 degrees and you end up with sweat and grease everywhere. I don't know how you pulled it off, but I only heard 2 f-bombs (and they were slightly muted), so I'd call that job a huge success!😥🙌 You did better than I ever have.😶 Almost had a perfect run, too until 25:08 ... ouch!😣 A little souvenir to remind you of the fun time you just had.😁 Anyway, nice tutorial. That Quick Jack has paid for itself many times over. Take care, my friend.✌
Hahaha yes Sir! I'm proud of the limited f bombs too lol. And yeah that souvenir had reminded me it's there a few times already haha. Dude, the quick jack is a super solid investment! So glad I decided to spend the money on it for sure! Have a good one, Mick!
Wooo updated video!
Was getting the 32 ready for R’s day and noticed mine had done the same thing. Was hoping I wouldn’t have to take off the face-plate for the diff.
Your vids always helping me out man!
That is for the angle of the quickjack locations! Seems like a worthwhile investment if you're constantly putting the car up. Also, I recently had a CV boot bust and went ahead and swapped both boots on the axle. For rubber stuff, maybe it's better to swap it if you go through the hassle of taking it out, you know?
Yeah man, the quickjack has paid for itself many times over with this car! Saves me about 30 mins each time I have to lift the whole car in the air! I would recommend doing both boots at once since I've done this job 4 times now for both front axles doing 1 boot each time :(
Awesome vid thanks man! Have gotten my axles out before but have never replaced the boots myself so doesn’t seem that hard and thanks for all the tips! 👍🏻
Thank you buddy!
I am so worried that I somehow screwed up our axle. The shaft will not go back into the cup. You made it look so easy and everything was really easy (minus fighting the decades of compacted rust on all the tie rods and such) except for putting the axle back together. I took it to a local performance shop here in Hayden and they asked me to come back tomorrow so they could work on it overnight... what the heck did I do??
You always create great step by step videos. Thanks for taking the time to make these.
Hey, thank you and no problem!
just curious, did you pull the outer apart to keep from undoing the fresh inner Boot. Because the inner CV assembly is MUCH easier to take apart.
Never had problems with the chassis rails bending or anything with them jacks ??? Considering getting them, what would you rate them QuickJacks ?
Nope! The quickjack has rubber blocks that come with it to absorb the weight of the car when the lift goes up. It's very nice!
Not every time you can get an axle out like this. I know a guy that built a cool tool to make this easier. One day I might show you all that. Neo HPCC grease is the best stuff.
You got all the cool stuff!
what a surprise! top rank not helping people out! 😂😂
another awesome vid man great explanation peace
Thank you!
is it the same process to get the inner CV joint off? like the C-clip and using the "gravity method" to push it off? thanks!
no the inners have a big clip you can pinch with pliers and pull out. this will allow you to pull out the tri-pod bearings and separate the axle from the inner CV assembly. Much easier than disassembling the outer.
For the quick jack, the lifting points. I thought our cars are unibody, so we need to get the optional blocks with the slits in them and lift at the pinch welds, no? I lifted mine on a jack at the subframes and put jack stands under where you have your quick jack and all was well for weeks sitting at that area. But I tried to break a bolt loose and it kinda started to crush/puncture at those frame looking areas.
I use the frame rails with the rubber blocks and it's been good even after taking the engine out and put back in on the lift for almost a year.
Top video. Thanks man!
Thank you man!
nice job, I would say the brakes may need a upgrade sooner or later.
I have some Brembos to put on at some point!
seeing u already had it out.. would u advise to do the other boot at the same time?
I would do both at the same time if they are both old. My other boot on this axle was replaced in the last couple years already.
When u used a screw driver to knock the axle out where was the c clip that held it in , how did u re install it ?
It's in the diff
@@Goodezilla so I’m good to bang it out and same ways back in?
@@connornorlin9388 yeah, you just push it back in with your hands and it will click in with a little force
Another well done video :D
Easy to follow

Cheers
Thank you Reshaad! I appreciate that! RBGANG4LIFE :)
well done, time for some new inner/outer tie rods eh?
Thank you, and yeah always something else lol
Nice video update !!! To replace both boots, would you recommend taking off the outer side of the axle like you did in this video instead of taking off the spider gear side like in your last video?
When I did my left front axle on my GTR ,I did as you wondered. removed the Inner clip and removed the axle away from the inner CV and just slid the outer down the axle and over the outer spider CV and clamped it up after greasing. then reassembled the inner CV with grease and new boot and bolted it all back up.
Excellent
ebay link for boot is dead. happen to have a part # for it ?
The link works for me, but the part# from the link is - C9BDA-05U8H
@@Goodezilla thanks! must be my work computer
Was that inner one slinging the same kinda grease?
Inner and outer use the same grease.
No way I didn’t think you’d reply in a million years! Great video my man thanks a bunch
@@TheBlueteggy haha, I try to reply to everyone if I see the comment! Thank you and have a good one!
Thanks again my man! Got my boot all fixed and thanks to your boost leak video I got all 12 pounds hitting again. You the man thanks for your effort making videos
@@TheBlueteggy awesome man, glad it worked out for ya!
hey man absolutely love your wheels what are the dimensions and offset you went with ?
Thank you, they are 18x10.5 +15
GoodeZilla damn did you have to roll the fenders ?
@@bluesippycup5311 no, but I'm not slammed. I would have to if I went lower.
Great vid. One thing that bothers me being a mechanic, you re-used a cotter pin and did not torque the axle nut. These 2 small things bother me but the rest of the vid and work was well done.
Hey thank you. Yeah I know you should replace the cotter pins but I didn't have one that size. (not an excuse, I know). Thank you for watching and the feedback.
@@Goodezilla especially for suspension bits, it's better to be cautious and torque to spec. Also, I made a searchable .pdf of the service manual to make finding specific information much quicker. Let me know if you want me to send it to you (or you've already got it).
@@galloway_joseph that would be cool. I'm not sure mine is searchable, so I'd like that feature for sure!
@@Goodezilla Check your inbox.
Joey Galloway hey do you still have that searchable manual you can send me a link to?
Never doing this job again lol. My universal boot is still holding up after months of weekend warrior driving. #knockonwood The juice isnt worth the sqeeze on this job 🤦🏻♂️
hahaha, it's not too bad...just time consuming and aggregating when the cv's don't come off quick.
With a part that old your better off and it's safer to get a hole new axle.
New axles are almost a 1000$ on GTRs... No Thanks.
@@sepupr21 Then don't buy the car if you don't have the money to probably fix it. That is these a temporary fix.
