Pierre, I bought your Rigging course. I'm almost done chapter 2, but I wanted to say your course amazing! Thank you for making it affordable. This is one of the most extensive and effective rigging course I have ever seen! I will definitely be buying your Alive course once I'm done rigging.
Your free videos are on such a high level. Very valuable for intermediate and dare I say advanced users. And, they are prefect continued learning for those who go through your paid courses.
I've never had success with the wiggle bone or the spring bone add-on. They never seem to work right or have inconsistent results. I end up using damped tracks that give way more convincing result with much less effort.
I realise this is an old tutorial, but I thought I ought mention that at 4:10 you mention "prefix", which is for when the part is added before the existing text. The counter, "suffix" is used when referring to what is added after the initial text. It should be relatively clear by context, but I could see someone potentially getting very confused when adding .L as a prefix. Really helpful otherwise, I'm just a pedant.
to have a perfect loop with bone dynamic, have the animation loop twice before adding the bones, bake the result, and delete all the keys before the second loop. If your animation loops perfectly, it should give you a perfect looped simulation... most of the time thank you for the limit distance setup. I can see how that technique can open other possibilities
2:25 1) Select original bone 2) Select Reference bone 3) Ctrl + Shift + C , copy location and copy rotation. Reference bone will now follow the Original bone
I was wondering if there was a way to preserve cloth bone rolls to make the faked collision mechanism compatible with an additive FK control setup where bones flare out like on a skirt. I tried it out and it looks like the bone rolls can be kept if the copy rotation constraints that follow the leg rotation reference use Target: Local Space (Owner Orientation) to Owner: Local Space.
Btw, I've only been able to make these decisions and feel comfortable with building on top of Pierrick's YT videos because I'm 7 chapters into his Art of Effective Rigging 2 course! I saw a few comments about this video being confusing for even experienced Blender users. However, it becomes fairly easy to follow along if you take advantage of the gradual learning curve offered by AoER 2. A lot of rigging tuts on YT are finally so much easier for me to follow along with thanks to it!
Wow! The dynamic bones one looks a lot nicer to work with than wiggle bones. Thanks for showing it to us all :] Also, ive low-key always been waiting to see you acknowledge halac and talk about something he did at some point, ever since i saw you leave a small comment on one of his patreon posts.
Hello Sir, How do I connect the coat armature with the character rig? When I bound the coat armature to the coat mesh and then connected the coat armature to the character rig, the coat mesh is not bound to the coat armature in pose mode. I want to purchase your course, but I’m stuck at this point. Will these basic concepts be covered in your Alive Animation course? Thanks!
Hello I'm not sure if you're still replying to such old videos, but I was wondering how I would adapt this method to a shirt. I have rigged the actual body, and for the shirt, I wanted the physics to apply to the bones under the shoulder (everything besides arms I guess? I'm not sure how to go about it
Question- If you had to animate a character like this in a seated position, either in a chair or on the ground, would you use a cloth dynamic system? Or use a system like this? Or some other method? Great tutorials! Your rigging course has helped me out immensely!
I knew there had to be an easier way to animate cloth, lol. I've mainly used Maya, and I'll be switching to blender soon to get more practice animating in there
I have a Question about your courses: Does the animation course cover rigging or is that course its own thing? Ive been animating and learning as I go with various YT videos but feel I could benefit from something more formal. "youve got to learn to rig before you can walk" - dont think thats the saying but I'm saying it. Check your Art station link in the stay tuned of the video description is broken for me, btw. Thanks!
@@dragonsamurai559 You can use it for low poly or anything. You just bake the simulation into a low poly model, as per the usual. And then obviously I'm sure you're going to export it to an engine, so high poly or low poly makes no difference anyway.
Hi Pierrick, I bought the "Art of Effective Rigging" on P2 Academy, but it still says: Lecture content locked If you're already enrolled, you'll need to login. But I am logged in :( Edit: Fixed it. I had to log in to Teachable and link my account.
That has to be the slowest possible way of doing that. It only takes a couple of clicks to setup cloth physics onto a mesh, if you do it right. You dont need those bones whatsoever.
que tan dificil es enseñar a crear ropa y que esta se mueva con un realismo para mover los huesos y no una animacion. la simulacion de ropa no sirve para nada cuando queires hacer una fisica de una falda y moverla en modo pose

How combine this method with auto rig pro bones?
Very good

I've been using Blender for 8 years now. This has to be the hardest and most confusing tutorial I've watched.
100% agree

Thank you so much! I've been looking for an alternative to cloth simulation, since it's not the best, and your tutorial perfectly fits my needs.

For cloth, I wonder when to use rigging and when to just add a collision modifier.
i really apreciate your help with dowloanding this software
I have been beating my head off my keyboard about how to rig armour-tight plates. (Tassets) So happy I found this.
great as always! thank you Pierrick for everything!!
This was extremely useful! Thanks for another great tutorial, Pierrick. T'es le meilleur
Merci
Thank you so much for sharing your findings with us! You are the best

This Channel has too few subscribers. The quality of the content is great
I usually learn sculpting from speedchar channel, he sells course too but on udemy , now I can learn rigging from this channel
I've been looking for exactly this information! Thank you!
can this be used for unity? or will better to just set the physics inside unity? cuz i see more control in tthis for making keyframe animation
Worked , thanks a lot!
A life saver for sure... Thank you for such a great informative tutorial...! ❤

is all these bone setting are still actif if the rig is exported to unreal ?

Pierrick, have you heard about Motion Diffusion AI? It makes animations from a simple description. Pretty scary
what addon is Ctrl + Shift + C ?
it's not a n addon. It's default key mapping to add constraint with target.
For those who cant use the command, its because AMD GPUs have a use for the command and thats why it doesn't work.
That has to be the slowest possible way of doing that. It only takes a couple of clicks to setup cloth physics onto a mesh, if you do it right. You dont need those bones whatsoever.
cloth sim is cringe and annoying in blender. This gives WAY more control
@an4208 People who say cringe are annoying. Cloth in Blender is easy lol. Your comment only tells me that you suck at using Blender
@@chrisjansen1943 you should make a video on how much smarter you are than this guy and show off your skills.
