Bingo! I started with a stampede XL-5 as a kid and all I wanted was a nitro. Years later 3 nitros later and settled on a Maxx v2. Done with the hassle I just want to charge and go 😂😂
@HenAndPenn nitro and petrol rc cars suck, just constant tuning and maintance, and the noise just causes trouble. I had the nitro t max and hpi 5B petrol.
3 years ago I got a bug for rc cars, then I got one that broke constantly, now i got bit again and just got a team corally punisher. It is exactly what I wanted 3 years ago and what I want now.

Awesome video!! I recently got the V1 with a free widemaxx kit from my LHS. First thing I did was play with wheel combo's and the Revo 3.3 wheels fit great on this truck.
I got one and it's insane, but the tyres got worn in like two weeks. Now i'm still using them WITHOUT the foams (i didn't locked the vent holes) and one is kinda ripped a little bit, but they're fine !
I did max 8 with 2200kv 6s right away. first speed run crashed it like an idiot batteries flew out and smashed the corners open. im afraid to charge them now.
Just got the maxx v2, broke the plastic driveshafts in 2 days I think mostly from selfrighting. Upgraded to metal and 65 mph on the first GPS and tqi speed run.
@William Perri I haven't driven either one either I want to but I can't afford smother RC right now. I have bought to many recently. And if anyone is wondering the 2 maxx I had for my videos I parted them out when I was done I didn't make a profit but I came close to breaking even. But for me I just wanted to make the videos. I just picked one up a few days ago, it's been raining the last few days, so I have to wait for everything to dry out before I charge up a few packs and hit one of the local parks which happens to have a small track that someone created about 20 years ago.
Often we keep the car in the video room for later use (video or photoshoots), but often we send the vehicle to the retail store to be on display for customers. Less common we sell the car at our swap meet or we just give it away. -Brett

@@TheNamesArif It reduces your turning radius and increase body roll, as well as introducing excessive chassis slap. A good tune on a standard-width Maxx will outhandle a WideMaxx and won't roll either.

Shoot. Rustler 4X4 VXL vs Maxx 2.0? That is a tough one. They are both beasts in their own way, one a little bigger and more capable in rougher terrain. Bigger trucks need more space though, bigger tires cost more and 4S LiPo's cost more than 3S. Not a bad decision to have to make; you win either way! -Brett

Probably Maxx V2. If the terrain is really rough and chunky then the Sledge; the extra size and bigger tires from the Sledge will handle this terrain better. -Brett
i broke so many rc's with those deady fences lol, one time i was bashing a rustler and flew past a fence post and just barely caught the back tire and just ripped the whole suspension off the rear when is snagged the pole 😂
My slash has been acting up, so I plan on getting a maxx very soon. But I actually don't really like the wide style. Can the v3 be fitted with standard width control arms?
See a few videos of people having power loss / esc cutting out on these. it put me off getting one until they have been around a little while in case it’s a common fault.
So you may notice that the tires on the Maxx V2 have like a white chalk layer on them... If you want to make them look darker and look more like well... A tire.. you can use a car tire spray that will blacken them and make them look brand new! I did that with my V2 and it really makes a difference, I highly recommend it!

The speed controller has a "Training Mode" where it limits the throttle power by 50%. I'm not sure the exact speed this will limit the truck to, but power is severely reduced. -Brett

Interesting! That would make for a great comparison video. With your Maxx overheating, did you change to a larger tire diameter? Is the motor heatsink fan still working? Are you letting the truck cool after driving, before driving again? The Maxx 2.0 comes geared down 1 tooth compared to the original Maxx so I'm really surprised to hear about overheating. -Brett
You think at that price they would have included more aluminum like aluminum shock towers. HPI Savage has the same problem. Then again is it on purpose ? Is some plastic shock towers "better" then aluminum ? I have never broke one on my Savage X 4.6 nitro. The old school ones. However I see almost all higher end trucks / cars have good quality aluminum. Please share and notice if you like. Id love to learn why.
Yes sir. It has the wider upper arms, lower arms, driveshafts and steering links, plus the shock spring change; everything included with the WideMaxx kit, is not equipped on the the Maxx. It's pretty sweet and the truck bashes/drives with more stability. -Brett

Yeah, they've served us well. They're very flat and rigid belted tires, so they stay flat the whole time. We've only used them to bash around in dirty parking parking lots, but performance was always good and much improved over a nobby tire on that surface. -Brett

The 1/8 buggy tires are shorter, like gearing down the motor. In either case, you may need to re-gear the pinion gear once changing tire sizes to keep the motor/esc from overheating; it just depends on your driving style, how hard you drive, the surface you drive in and the ambient outside temperatures. -Brett

It's tough to say, but in a ball-park estimate, 30 minutes. Outside temperature, loamyness of the terrain and how hard you drive heavily influence runtime. -Brett

I believe the Maxx 2.0 also has a upgraded steering servo. It’s now using the factory servo from the XMaxx.
I tried, the servo is still weak and slow.

Plastic has gotten better over time cheaper and doesn't bend 👍

This truck has so much power that it literally needs steel drive shafts. With badlands tires I can not keep drive shafts in this truck lol

I have a question - Is the Traxxas UDR available without light kit preinstalled?
No, not anymore. It originally came that way and then Traxxas started adding it installed to the trucks.

@@AMain_Hobbies - Thanx for your response. I just started this Hobby with my 8 year old son. I won't be driving the Traxxas to crazy but was more curious. Something I should consider once I play on more challenging terrain.
@@sultanwashington There you go. Spending some time with it you might see your money best spent in other areas, like additional batteries, better tires, improved servo, etc. Upgraded suspension might look cool but will have not enhance performance much over the stock suspension.

No, it should replace the original Maxx. The E-Revo 2.0 was released a few years ago and that replaces the original.

We usually just use an old paint brush and toothbrush to break off the dirt and dust.

It seems really cool, but I don't want to buy another Traxxas (at least new) after learning about their parents and lawsuits. I'll keep waiting for Arrma to bring back their 4s lineup.
what is the run time on 6700 battery?
It varies on how hard you drive, but 20-40 minutes is achievable.

I wouldn't say that the drive train is 6s capable because the cvd shafts snap off on 6s

Not currently, but they probably will.

It's tough to say, but in a ball-park estimate, 30 minutes. Outside temperature, loamyness of the terrain and how hard you drive heavily influence runtime.
