I am more glad I didn’t buy a Sledge instead of a second XMaxx. I may swap out one XMaxx for an XRT but if I were to have only one it would still be the XMaxx.
Bro i sold one of my Xmaxx’s to buy the sledge, i had to drop $250 roughly to make it a beast, i got my XRT(orange) i was going to buy another Xmaxx’s, glad i didn’t 😉👍🏽💯
I have both XRT and the X-maxx. The XRT with speed gearing and X-maxx tires is the potentially the funnest RC on planet earth, possibly the mulitiverse.
Nice review! Enjoyed seeing the comparison also. But going head to head the difference is easily explained in the specific categories of each vehicle. One is a truggy, the other a monster truck. Pretty much explains it. Thank for sharing man!
The XRT obviously can pull the Xmaxx because it has a lower center of gravity and it's gaining more traction on the pavement! Should have tested the tug of war in dirt & mud and see if the results changed?
@@chrisianniciello2466 and add to that the same tires. The comparison as is is different enough to be apples and oranges. But in the dirt… with rigs both running same tires… now we’re talkin’.
Brilliant review man, nice one, most comprehensive review iv seen so far, iv have Xmax with Max 6 hobby wing kit and just ordering the Max 5 for a few more options, but really, XRT O.M.G Ordering right now!! Not available in UK until January but iv got my name on one in December all been well! Good work guys 👍👍💙👍👍
thanx for the informative video! is there a difference regarding reliability in general and durability in light bashing? I hate replacing parts after each drive...thanks again!
Thanks for the vid! Just an fyi the newer xmaxxs have the upgraded hubs and bearings. I think they started doing it a few months ago before the sledge came out. Mine has them stock. I went to do the bearing and hub upgrade and already had the bigger ones stock and was confused lol
I wanna get back into the hobby after years and years playing with old stuff with my dad. I want something thats pretty good out if the box but I'm torn between these two. I love the truggy style. I love how it looks and how they perform but I feel I'd get more use out of the xmaxx because I can use it in more places with rougher terrain.
@@alistairclark6814 Thank you for letting us know! I was hoping someone would chime in with some sort of tire swap that allows a bit more clearance and off-road performance.
They both seem badass I think the Xmaxx looks better & cooler imo but the truggy probably preforms better but not by much. You would be hella happy with either 1... I have the original x-maxx with 6S and I don't even drive it anymore. I like the 2wd vxl rustler & stampede... Fun, tough + reliable, lots of aftermarket parts that are cost friendly & it's fast AF. Perfect? Not at all but it's super fun. Those cars that cost $1,000 take the fun out of RC because it's so expensive to get into the hobby + all the parts are just so expensive. If you got money like that by all means enjoy yourself lol
Hmmmmmm. How about the ground clearance at the axles? I know that the Xmaxx has way more ground clearance in the middle of the chassis underneath, but what's about under the axles? Thanks! The Xmaxx Wil still be better for skateparks indeed.
So what if you put the shorter arms on the XRT? What is involved and how would it affect the performance. The XRT looks cool but also disproportionally wide given the ride height. I think it would be more awesome with the shorter XMAXX arms and Sledgehammer wheels. I am shopping for that really great preowned XRT.
Could the larger pinion in the Xmaxx be the difference? Maybe robbing some torque? Either that or tires. These have the same systems so it has to be something like that. Great great video though, really enjoyed this! Especially since I literally just bought the XRT and this vechile literally makes my Scx6 look small!
Nice comparison, obvs only run on Hard surfaces which is what the xrt is optimised for (tyres are really pure hard surface/tarmac) be interesting to see them on grass and loose dirt back to back,
People complaining about the price lol everything’s expensive now the graphics card for my PC was $1800 you can find mountain bikes going for 10k + even little DJI drones are going for $2,000+
I don't know yet. I think this is more of an answer to the aarma krayton, built off the x-maxx. Not a bad idea but the x-maxx is still in a class of its own. The krayton is not a m/t and the x-maxx is not a truggy. Still very cool but I think the comparison is off the mark a bit.
Cool review. It wasn't bad in any way! Just hold both remotes to start them at EXACTLY the same time and see who out-pulls who. Either way, cool video man.
Yeah SRT wins on stock tryres on concrete. It's the grip of the tyres? would have like to see a dirt match to see if xmaxx would win. Or just run the same wheels on both cars.........
xrt will win because its heavier and lower. But if they have the same arms then if you change the shocks then you can probably make the x ,xmax lower and the xrt taller than the xmax. actually the xrt could be taller because of the longer arms. Actually would have more ground clearance than the xmax. Because if you were to considered the lowest part under the axels of the xmax as its ground clearance
Put the copperhead Arrma tires on the xrt...or the backflips....those tires look like there for clay or dirt tracks....not much traction with that tread pattern
The Xmaxx can adapt to any type of terrain including a flight of stairs or a body of water will the xrt come close 🤔 time will only tell or do we actually have some common sense 😂
They are made for two different purposes really. Both awesome trucks xmaxx is the badger. Xrt is the truggy. Like most have said the xrt is more comparably to a Kraton 8s
QUESTION FOR YOU ALL... with the traxxas 6700 batteries u had in other video, do they require 2 batteries to operate or just 1? And also, how long does it last from fully charged till dead? N how fast does it take to charge it back up?
In the tug of war the XRT won due to the more street friendly tires It would be interesting to see the tug of war on a dirt surface.
Or put the same tires on each truck
As well as lower center of gravity, and slightly more weight. It could also be which operator is bad regulating throttle. Spinnin’ ain’t winnin’ 😎👍
I agree
And not to mention weight benefit. More weight helps with more grip
and it weighs more
Bought the xmaxx 1 week ago no regrets now thanks to this video I’ll be spending another 1100 great job guys thanks
Wow you have money like that
My buddy just got one it can take some serious damage we rag the crap out of it last week. We had zero trips to the hobby store for replacement parks.
Still feelin the XMAXX, although I’m strictly a basher. I do however love all the engineering and upgrades on the XRT.
I only clicked on this for one reason only and I got robbed!!!!!clickbait!!!!
We all did! 🤣🤣
I'm didn't want to say it but yea I got robbed as well...
Me too so sad 😂
True I reported the video people like this can screw off
I want to see two big 😶😶 and instead only saw two big RC's boooo

@@vitodambra72 Nice...at least the Sledge started off costing less...I hear with the right mods they are awesome anyway.

Very informational. Thank you for helping me lean to getting the xrt

You should do a comparison between the Katon 8s and the new XRT. Love the vids man and keep them up!

I've had my X-Maxx for 5-6 years now, and it's great love for me, but I do believe that I would go for the XRT if I did the purchase today!
Fantastic review and comparison. Thank you.

INCREDIBLE VIDEO!!! THANKS!!! ❤
Best comparison video on UA-cam! Thank you. You helped me make my decision. XMAXX all the way.

I have both and the XRT with Xmaxx tires is unbeatable and more fun in all terrain.

3/4 throttle on the Xmaxx caused it to spin out losing traction, should try them both at 1/4 throttle
Good video 🔥👍

Now THAT is one big pair...of RC's!😜😜
would u happen to know if traxxas will make that solar flare body for the XRT
OH THE SMOKE !! WOOOO
Damn those are big!
I have to imagine the Xmaxx will land bigger jumps considering the longer suspension?
The xrt can land huge jumps it just has really bad chassis slap. Which makes me cringe every time.
Only thing I would say in comparison. Why not swap the tires and see what the results would be. I'm really curious.
NICE VID
Buying my 1st xmax next week. But I also want the xrt
if you put a wide kit on the Xmaxx does it lose it's ground clearance ?
This video actually made me put a deposit on an Xrt… woo whooo
Me personally x-maxx is in it’s own class. Xrt should be more compared too the sledge. Xrt is a stadium truck, where x-maxx is more monster truck. Etc
Exactly 💯
Will the dirt mesh guard from the XMAXX work on the XRT
XmaXX just looks better. If I was racing XRT but for fun bashing Xmaxx all day long.
Just got both
So if I put the wide kit on the Xmaxx who's the obvious king of RC?
Please tell me your Stock Xmaxx isn't running the stock servo?? I almost tore that garbage out the minute i got it.
Where’s the model at? Lol 😝
Those are hug and damn those rc are huge
People complaining about the price lol everything’s expensive now the graphics card for my PC was $1800 you can find mountain bikes going for 10k + even little DJI drones are going for $2,000+
Do u only get like 10 min out of a full charge or longer?
what about the suspension xmaxx wins that and you should test them ofroad like very rough terrain
At the TUG war you should change the terrain!! You should put them next to the grass.
Thumbs up if a man needs a truck in his life. XMaxx
That low center of gravity gives it an advantage
I don't know yet. I think this is more of an answer to the aarma krayton, built off the x-maxx. Not a bad idea but the x-maxx is still in a class of its own. The krayton is not a m/t and the x-maxx is not a truggy. Still very cool but I think the comparison is off the mark a bit.
If you came for the thumbnail you must be sad :D I like the idea of xmaxx tires on the XRT..any other upgrade to raise the chassis?
Are the wheels compatible from X Maxx to the XRT ?
Yes
do you guys think there is a X-Maxx update imminent? (featuring updated motor cooling, body mount clips etc like on the TRX?)
Nope, i think the xrt is the upgrade.
I’m fairly certain they will make a v4 x max with the new body clips, new cooling solution, and new knuckles.
Oh yeah 🤙XRT time
Damn I want one.
actually want those rims with sledgehammer tires and a widemaxx kit on the xmaxx… For me suspension travel is king 😍
Look at the size of those.
Between These Two!! What would you like it to do?? ( My Opinion, They are "BOTH EQUAL"!! )
Just have fun
xrt looks better than kraton and sledge. but xmaxx is king forever...
Cool review. It wasn't bad in any way! Just hold both remotes to start them at EXACTLY the same time and see who out-pulls who. Either way, cool video man.
Heavier truck will almost always win due to traction so that test is kind of invalid but awesome review!
I have both and they are AWESOME 💪👍
Traxxas need to give us the chassis upgrade from the XRT to X-Maxx
Hi the best video at UA-cam
Should have done a tuggle war in grass or dirt also. Xrt had better tires for concrete
Thumbnail girl is super cute 🔥👌🏾
I would take the rims off the XRT replace it with the XMAXX. Better looking rims.
If the xrt was just around 1 inch higher off the ground it would be a no brainer.
I still gave you a "Like" even tho I didn't see those t!ts
Will the XMAXX arms and drive shafts fit on the XRT?
Absolutely.
CAN I PUT THE XRT BODY ON MY XMAXX?
❤👍

Me gusta XRT
I Just got a xmax 8s for 800 is that a good deal
The next video has to be the XRT vs a Kraton 8s
Put the copperhead Arrma tires on the xrt...or the backflips....those tires look like there for clay or dirt tracks....not much traction with that tread pattern
Can't see ya reply...you're prolly blocked already..lol
Does these share hubs an knuckles
The XRT sits lower giving it a few benefits .

Great review and all but where’s the blessed blonde in the thumbnail Chris???
the tug of war is more about which weighs more. simple physics
I still love xmaxx

What ESC do you have in the XMAXX?
Hobbywing Max6. It's the most common replacement
Thank You for the reply
Skinny girl,tall girl wich one,I'm greedy both😂😂😂😂😂
One of the other differences is the Maxx has the self righting feature, and the XRT does not.
I don't use it. It balloons the tires too much and they blow apart. Better off not using it.

How can i win the xrt
