kev the camera view of those cars flying up and off that ramp from directly in front of it really shows how violent that take off is when they are going that fast. definetaly get some more clips like that of some of the other high jump cars you have.
I had my v1 Maxx for 3 days before learning of the v2 I converted mine over and have to say it does not steer as well as it did short but what you get handling wise was completely worth it! This is just my opinion on my Maxx and how it makes me smile 😵💫
KEV, I FINALLY GOT MY FIRST XMAXX AND I LOVE IT!!! All of your Xmaxx derived videos have finally convinced me, thank you so much for your awesome content, love the wrenching and bashing videos, Much love from the U.S!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
I got the Traxxas Maxx V2 a couple months ago and it’s my first hobby grade RC. I LOVE IT. My little zombies love it and I actually enjoy breaking it because fixing it is easy and a good teaching experience for the little zombies! Thanks for the awesome content Kev!
V1 (4s) with the wide MAXX conversion has been absolutely epic for me!!! It does tend to mangle/break the plastic Traxxas driveshafts though. An absolute beast regardless.
I have the v1 Maxx from around when it was first released. I did install the widemaxx kit onto it, but I didn't like how it drove. It was more stable when turning and jumping, but the shorter wheelbase made it feel more agile and aggressive, which I prefer. Ultimately, I ended up reverting back to the original v1 Maxx as I prefer that.
Awesome video, kev! Thanks for always having a sunny disposition and for being a positive person! It's refreshing to see a genuinely nice personality on you tube these days! LONG LIVE TALBOT!
I liked the V1 better. V2 is a patch to make it compatible with the 6700mah Traxxas lipo. V1 with the Widekit was perfect. With mine I kept the stock springs front and back and stock 30 weight oil. It soaks up bumps like it did stock, but now it's more stable. I drove a V2 and didn't like how it handled. They made the suspension stiffer and it's also less nimble with the longer wheelbase.
The v 1 looks like a mini... maxx The v 2 looks like the result of a one night stand between an x maxx and a erevo To each their own though I like the former more and am pissed about getting screwed out of new stock bodies and parts Edit: sold mine because of this issue
HELLO PEOPLE DOES NOBODY KNOW... there's a Widemaxx kit for the v1 and it makes it one of the best machines ever available in lots of colors too, and it's intuitive and fun to create the ultimate Maxx
It's not nice to change a recent RC with a new version and discontinue the still new in alot of cases. Traxxas better still make part's available for the old especially the shell
That's how the world works, things get improved! Obviously when a product is improved the older product will be discontinued. That's just how it is and has ALWAYS BEEN 🤷 🤔
if you get those gopro mounts, (the ones that have the sticky side on the bottom) and heat them up till the bottom starts to bubble, if you stick it on a clean surface it wont come off
Hi mr. Talbot, I love watching your videos and I’m new to getting into rc cars. I just got a nitro car running but then broke it soon after. It’s older so I expected it but I plan ok doing modifications to it and your videos help a lot! I look forward to see more videos! Keep on keeping on.
Just a little advice...save up and get any arrma 6s and you won't be disappointed...the older gas one will cost you more at the end of the day to not be as good as the 6s platform
I’m not gonna say which brand to go with but you will be absolutely blown away by any 6s vehicle you choose if you are new to the hobby. I’ve been into it since I was just passed toddler age in the late 80’s when I got my first Traxxas Bandit, but have recently come back after a couple year hiatus and I am so overwhelmed with how far they have come and how much fun I’m having again. I recently got a Traxxas Sledge by the way, but soon will be picking up an Arrma Infraction and a TLR tuned Typhon.
Such a pity that these lovely parks aren't filled with bmx riders and skateboarders no more. Back in the day we drove hours to ride a skate park a couple of times a week. People really do not appreciate what they have. Glad that the rc community can use it.
They BOTH have their positives and negatives, pros and cons. Go for whatever puts the biggest smile on your face. But the Maxx versions are great vehicles regardless.
If i remember correct, the V1 maxx has a cush drive a rubber washer with edges to catch the gear that allows true AWD with an ability to absorb shock. the new maxx has a true sealed diff in the middle. I looked it up on traxxas's site and the cush drive for the maxx (I assume V1, main rubber piece) also fits the E revo 2.0 Spur gear
I bet you that drone was like oh look its Kevin Talbot. Oh he's showing me the moon / ass 🤣😂😭 I'm dieing from that kev. I wonder what the guy on the other side was thinking lol🤣😂
Hey Kevin, I just ordered my V2, and saw you did the knuckles and drive shafts, can you please share a link for those parts? Thanks dude. Thanks to you, I went from a Tamiya guy, to Traxxas, lol. Cheers
V2 for me like that it's a bigger car. Have the outcast 6s exb and outcast 8s exb. Next I want the Mini Maxx and Xmaxx. Thinking the Tyfon would be an awesome 8s rig
I think they have discontinued the V1 now. I preferred the V1 it looks better and is a bit more fun with it being more nimble. It would of been good to see both trucks running the same tyre
I want to put the shorter arms and bigger tires on the new maxx with thicker diff oil and go in the rocks. The wide kit drags and gets hung up on rocks.
Can i used lipo 4s 14.8v with 100c in original Esc and motor? The doubt is the 100c of the battery causes problems? or should i used original 50c batteries?
It's just more stable with the wide kit. I changed back to the stock springs and shock oil from what Traxxas recommended with the Wide kit. The back end was too stiff and it would bounce on hard landings more. It also didn't soak up bumps like it did with the stock suspension. Now that I put the springs and shock oil back it handles great with the Widemaxx kit.
WOW KEV THIS RC TRAXXAS XMAXX IS EPIC!! Hey Kevin, please buy the Losi Hammer Rey 1/10 brushless of road truck, IT IS BRAND NEW!! People already reviewed this on their channels, you please also buy it!!! COME ON!!!
But Kev, they didn't have the same tires! But Kev, they didn't have the same upgrades! But Kev, the tapes' weight had an impact on the performance! Unfair comparison 😂😂😂😂
Kev I had an idea that when ever you put in the parts for a car and you do a scene cut and it looks like they just fell in, I had the idea that you could like ""accidentally"" drop them on top of the rc car whenever you put in the parts
I have both as well. V1 has the wide kit, metal drive shafts on both and sledgehammer tires. V2 is on 6s and is violent LOL but I really only drive the V2 and gave the V1 to my son. But I only drive the V2 because it self rights! My Talion is way more fun and durable so...
I just ended up purchasing a v2 today. I've gotten lots of inspiration from your videos to get out of the house and do something. Also I really enjoy the videos, keep up the good work Kevin.
Kev! I have an awesome idea for you. Mrwhosetheboss bought an Xmaxx that he showed in a recent video. You should meet up with him and show him what an upgraded Xmaxx can do, maybe improve his Xmaxx and blow his mind!!
I stopped everything I was doing just to watch this video, including being in the middle of changing a diaper. She is now flinging poo all over the room. It was worth it.
I prefer my MAXXv1; not a fan of the WideMAXX kit. Change the diff oils from F-50K/R-50K to F-30K/R-10K and swap the positions of the front and rear springs. Practically eliminates rollovers with a stock width MAXX, and way more predictable if it gets on 2 wheels.
i cant imagine the RC community without Kev.. EPIC as always🔥
How this only got 74 oh wait sorry I like nvm 75 likes
absolutely agree bro!
kev the camera view of those cars flying up and off that ramp from directly in front of it really shows how violent that take off is when they are going that fast. definetaly get some more clips like that of some of the other high jump cars you have.
Facts i was like JEEEZUS

i also like the look of the v1 more
Ich mag de v1 auch lieber. Der v2 wirkt mir nicht so stabil und schaut auch sonst nicht so gut aus wie der v1.
The v 1 looks like a mini... maxx
The v 2 looks like the result of a one night stand between an x maxx and a erevo
To each their own though
I like the former more and am pissed about getting screwed out of new stock bodies and parts
Edit: sold mine because of this issue
HELLO PEOPLE DOES NOBODY KNOW... there's a Widemaxx kit for the v1 and it makes it one of the best machines ever available in lots of colors too, and it's intuitive and fun to create the ultimate Maxx
Wish I had more people around my area who like playing with sick RC vehicles. Thanks for the sick video Kev
Me too. I have 0 people in a 20 mile radius and it sucks.
Same
Same here 😫
Me too literally no one cares about rc in my Area 😢
How do you know?
It's not nice to change a recent RC with a new version and discontinue the still new in alot of cases. Traxxas better still make part's available for the old especially the shell
I emailed them about this when v2 arrived. V2 officially supersedes it and v1 parts will, in time, dry up.
That's how the world works, things get improved! Obviously when a product is improved the older product will be discontinued.
That's just how it is and has ALWAYS BEEN 🤷 🤔
I think it’s lame they stopped making the maxx V1… I wish they would have kept selling both
5:26 love this camera angle!
if you get those gopro mounts, (the ones that have the sticky side on the bottom) and heat them up till the bottom starts to bubble, if you stick it on a clean surface it wont come off

We usually go weekdays when they are at school/working don’t wanna get in their way
ah Okay, that makes sense.
The gear ratio is a tooth or two different from the original max to the V2 version....but both are awesome....can't go wrong with a max....
One of my favorite things about watching you Kev is your great attitude.
I would love to see a collaboration with Mark. (MSM)
I'd be happy with either one. They both look like a blast to run.
I've watched all of your videos and find myself keep looking for new videos..
Keep em coming Kev 👍
They BOTH have their positives and negatives, pros and cons. Go for whatever puts the biggest smile on your face. But the Maxx versions are great vehicles regardless.

Who else finds Kev's voice in slow motion hilarious
For real, they both rock. Got a V1 myself and it slaps!
Is it worth the investment?
I have a traxxas max v1 and it is so fun and it is worth every penny.
If you're buying a new one, you would be a fool not to buy the V2. Traxxas tends to innovate forward, not backward, unlike Arrma. 😂
I would never drive my vehicles like this which is why I appreciate what you do. Thanks a bunch!
Loser fr if you don’t bash your rc
Drddddddd
I highly recommend driving this like this. Way more fun and working on your rc car is actually pretty fun
I didn't have the OG MAXX but I love my V2 one, it's fast and durable and seems like Traxxas ironed out all the flaws from the V1 MAXX.
The beauty is you can throw down a 100$ bucks or so and do a V1 to (near) V2 conversion if “size matters” to you 😉
I can only say I was shocked. You didn't have a pink bandaid on. You worked on the rc without gloves. Lol
As always love the videos sir.
You definitely help me with choosing which RC I should buy. I just ordered one and rise in a couple days. you have the best content so informative
"Eh raminators will be fine" had me laughing!
I want to put the shorter arms and bigger tires on the new maxx with thicker diff oil and go in the rocks. The wide kit drags and gets hung up on rocks.
I’d honestly pick V1 over the V2 just for the nimbleness and the stunts!
I can see that Lasernut up there... 😎👍🏻
Can i used lipo 4s 14.8v with 100c in original Esc and motor?
The doubt is the 100c of the battery causes problems?
or should i used original 50c batteries?
I wonder how much of the playfulness is taken out of a V1 with the wide kit? Its just wider and not longer so maybe a in between of the two?
It's just more stable with the wide kit. I changed back to the stock springs and shock oil from what Traxxas recommended with the Wide kit. The back end was too stiff and it would bounce on hard landings more. It also didn't soak up bumps like it did with the stock suspension. Now that I put the springs and shock oil back it handles great with the Widemaxx kit.
I’m surprised the xmaxx survived the run in with the rival mt10 during the backflip attempt. That mt10 is tough as nails
I love the v2 because of the battery tray, smash a gens ace 8700mah in there and bash it for an hour streight!
the drone part was * chef's kiss * you being the chef kev! lol great one as always
V1 with widemaxx kit is. Absolutely perfect
I like the small one more. It looks more to it size.
Love your videos they help alot when im in a low place in life
Yes I was waiting for more Maxx v2 videos!!
On the v2 traxxas what tires are you rynning again. I have the v2 and looking for a upgrade slightly wider and taller wheel tire combo
I called the 49mph! And I prefer the nimbler small one, i think.
Sup Kev, I have watched almost every one of your vids, absolutely obsessed with ur vids. So keep it up!!!
Glad you like them!
COME ON!!!
Maxx V2 for sure.
Just bought one two weeks ago love it absolute beast
But Kev, they didn't have the same tires! But Kev, they didn't have the same upgrades! But Kev, the tapes' weight had an impact on the performance! Unfair comparison 😂😂😂😂
Kevin you gotta get yourself a BIG ROCK RC and give it a Kevin Test. You my sir are the Man for Testing RC Cars/Trucks Ect ...
v1 hands down 🤣🤣🤣 c hubs, widemaxx kit and unbreakable body. perfect !!! there are many maxx like this, but this one is mine 🤣🤣🤣
Kev somehow I killed a jx ecoboost in my rustler 4x4 vxl. Should I get another one or is there another servo you think is good?
Is it just me or was one of them running arrma backflip tires? I didn't realize they were cross compatable if so. I only run smaller stuff currently.
The esc died on my v2 this weekend, do you still have the one from your v2 you took out kev??
What servo do you recommend for the traxxas xmaxx? I plan on buying one soon and id like to know the to go to upgrades you should get with it
Love both of them but I'd much rather prefer the V2 🔥
Wait... The old one went faster than the new one.... Really .. 53 for old.. 49 for new. The v2... Gotta put 6s on it
that's what I saw !
Heya Kev, I have to agree with you take on these trucks. I really depends of what you want them to do and how you drive.
Fun vid!
Hey Kev, you should turbo/super charge the 80 cc Raminator!
I’d buy the old one (V1). All extra inches must ne weighing more and affective for the drive characteristics.
Kev I had an idea that when ever you put in the parts for a car and you do a scene cut and it looks like they just fell in, I had the idea that you could like ""accidentally"" drop them on top of the rc car whenever you put in the parts
Gotta love your videos ! Never disappointing. Great work. God bless
Another great vid Kevin keep up the wholesome content 🤩❤️
Interested to know why the v2 with bigger tyres was so much slower?
Maybe switch over the esc and try it again.
Bigger tires……….
Yah I’m with u kev. I have both of them and love them both. Awesome trucks. Love your videos.😊👍
Are you useing the Sky RC gps reader? For speed and hight?
If you ever go to USA come to Oklahoma I'd love to hang out and watch u bash RC trucks hear at the best skate and bike parks in the world!!!
Great comparison, Kevin. I liked the Post.
Model rocket engine with working parachute still attached would make this so much cooler.
Gotta love this guy, more speeeeed as always, love your work man, you're a trei inspiration 🤜🤛
What is the part number of the wheels you have on the V2? I've already worn my sledgehammers down and I want more durable tires
I prefer the v1 had it 1yr still running strong haven't broken anything
V2 way better thanks for video!
5:50 is that chassis twist?!? Arrma tough baby
No.. I think it just looks like that because the springs
Good eye though 👍
My MAXX V1 with Widemaxx kit does just fine. No need to upgrade just to gain 2cm of length.
7:31 😂lol
Have you ever done a side by side comparison of the knockoff XMax and the real XMax? Like at the skate park kinda comparison?
Today's special guest appearance The Fed X Guy hahaha
I like both being honest I love you’re content
But I like the smaller one more
I have both as well. V1 has the wide kit, metal drive shafts on both and sledgehammer tires. V2 is on 6s and is violent LOL but I really only drive the V2 and gave the V1 to my son. But I only drive the V2 because it self rights! My Talion is way more fun and durable so...

Kev! I have an awesome idea for you. Mrwhosetheboss bought an Xmaxx that he showed in a recent video. You should meet up with him and show him what an upgraded Xmaxx can do, maybe improve his Xmaxx and blow his mind!!
Its better weather now, time to send the X0-1 TO THE MOOON!
I stopped everything I was doing just to watch this video, including being in the middle of changing a diaper. She is now flinging poo all over the room. It was worth it.
That hilarious. 😂
Ew, it must be stinky? lol
Mt dog flings poo with his helicopter tail. Its quite the sight.
I have 5 kids I can concur.
My favorite You Tuber
I prefer my MAXXv1; not a fan of the WideMAXX kit. Change the diff oils from F-50K/R-50K to F-30K/R-10K and swap the positions of the front and rear springs. Practically eliminates rollovers with a stock width MAXX, and way more predictable if it gets on 2 wheels.
Size always matters 😂😂
Try to modify your car by adding active suspension system.
If you like oranges have them,if you like plums have them. I like both so,I'll have both thank you, options for fun is always good.
What is the best under $600 RC car or truck that you would recommend
I prefer v1, bcs I like doing stunt backflips, etc
anyway that's just my opinion :)
Kev, you're the best RC reviewer and tester! XD
How can I turn off the auto generated captions. The UA-cam option is turned off already!
I just got the rival mt10 yesterday waiting to see your run with it 🤘
Which one's better the traxas X Max or the track says UDR
Kev i have jus stumbled across somethin you gotta get. Its called the 3z bulldog rider its a 110cc rc that can actually be ridin for drove by remote
Morning kev, cool video. Was that ur Losi Dbxle 2.0 on the table at start of the lap time test at Arc?
