I am always amazed how much bigger the Xmaxx is and I have a Maxx and it's a pretty big vehicle all on its own. BTW my Maxx v2 is 2.5 years old and the only upgrade I've done is putting the captured hinge pins on, I got tired of the standard pins always backing out. Lastly I broke both arms on one corner. It was a fast and easy repair. Everything else is stock and my bashing is mostly 10-12 foot high jumps that are about 20-25 feet long. So no where near as crazy as some UA-cam channels but much more than what you guys were doing in this video. It's a tough, tough RC ... the toughest I've ever owned.
I would upgrade all the hubs to the xrt hubs they are more durable and doesn't have as many ridges like the xmaxx hubs do and I believe the bearings are the same size too but I'm not 100% sure on that but that's going to be one of the many upgrades I'm going to be doing to mine when I get my xmaxx.
hello from germany, we got two v1 maxx, the one from my daughter, runs on 3s cause she is 10 years old, front alloy c hubs, rest stock and mine has an widekit, maxx 8 combo front alloy c hubs, unbreakable body and runs on 4s. last time we was out with a group also with x maxxes, hands down my maxx rocks that day. for us from size and durability we love our little power maxxes.
Hey RBR! Another excellent comparison video - I appreciate the categories. You sold me on the splined wheels nuts for my miniMaxx because mine back out as well, but... Traxxas says the ones you used when you did your upgrade video (ua-cam.com/video/MULdepP2SFo/v-deo.html) are incorrect. They say to use 8654 (made only for Maxx) which have a pin and a grub screw rather than the all-in-one screw/pin that come with the hubs you used (5353x). Also, the nuts for 8654 are sold separately. More importantly, they say all of these upgrade hubs/nuts are to be used ONLY with steel CVDs (for miniMaxx: 8996X, $100) and are not suitable for any of the plastic CVDs (even the eXtreme Heavy Duty). Have you had any issues with the hubs/nuts you installed a year ago on the plastic CVDs of your Maxx? Thank you if you reply to this. If not (it's cool you're busy!), then thanks for all the videos - fun bashes, educational and useable repair/install techniques.
Great question, and thank you for the comment. Traxxas wants you to use 8654 because they only work with the steel axles (PLEASE NOTE: Maxx® and Maxx Slash® models require 8950X (standard width) or 8996X (WideMaxx®) Steel constant-velocity driveshafts for compatibility.) If you use the 5353x, they fit great, and we just add a colored wheel nut to match. We’ve had them for 2 years now, and never been damaged.
I'd definitely listen to these guys over the manufacturers. This channel seems to test a lot of parts, and it's really helped. Traxxas just wants you to buy more parts
The 6700 Traxxas Maxx battery I plug into the charger and it constantly doesn't recognize the charger. Do any of you guys have similar issues? It's only a few weeks old
@@redbanditracing I was with my little sister and when I was watching her on the toys I’m assuming when my back was turned away they went and grabbed it. I searched the whole park thinking i misplaced it but I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I own both of those trucks I love them both the Max has just the much power is the x-maxx so basically the max is a little power plant all in all they're both great trucks I bashed the crap out of them I love Traxxas products customer service is excellent I had a faulty motor in my xrt send it back to Traxxas they sent me a brand new one no problem I will continue to buy Traxxas products to the day I die LOL and hopefully somebody buries me with all my toys
Owned the previous model, never upgraded hubs, casters, or the links and have had zero issues. Guess it just depends

The maxx is on my wish list👌🏻 Great comparison lads👍🏻
@All-rc804 I have the v2 maxx and it's awesome and I haven't really broken all that much on it either.
I got the maxx v2, it feels like the xmaxx when driving, feels like a literal indestructible xmaxx lol
Thank you!!!
That was one of the most interesting RC videos I’ve seen since a long time on UA-cam.
Nice job guys and thanks for that !
Salut 🫡 from France.

I'm going to give the same advice I give to everyone who owns an XMAXX...Hobbywing Max5 stubby combo!. You won't regret it

They truly are very reliable, thanks for watching.
Great video. Just what I wanted. Trying to decide which one to get and if the x is worth all the extra money.
Definitely worth the money, but you’re gonna put more into it for sure. The MAXX is just on another level
@@redbanditracing Going with the maxx I think. Thanks for the video.
@@redbanditracing Could you tell me what the range is on these i.e. how far away they can go before you lose control?
280 yards, also depending on your surroundings.
@@redbanditracing Thank you.
Traxxas needs to use the Sledge body mounting system!
@@TRAVELER197 definitely
I'm getting the Maxx ! Asap just need unlimited amount of money for my different hobbies
And great channel guys! Love the "VS Videos" when dreaming bout your next RC car
Great video boys
Glad you enjoyed
Have you guys ran the 1/16 eRevo VXL, yet? What are your thoughts?
Yeah, we did a one year review not too long ago. Nice little car, small issues, not a basher for sure.
A few tweaks and that xmaxx will dominate in every way
On my xmaxx i swapped to arrma backflip tires, very perfect tire imo. Baloons but not too much so you can do tricks. Check them out!
How long is the runtime of the Xmaxx?
Actually pretty good, been getting 25-30 min bashing.
@@redbanditracing thank you for reply

Mannnn I am so sad! Took my traxxas Maxx to the park yesterday and someone stole it! I saved up for so long and now it’s gone😔😭
How did they steal it?

Ive never had problems with my body coming off. And ive had mine for ma y years. It could be that particular body. Just a thought
Could be, comes off a lot.
@redbanditracing wow. Only if I do a very high jump then it would but still only happened maybe twice. Now it's so beat up i need another body. 😆
Xmaxx and maxx share the same steering servo
The MAXX uses the 2090, the X-MAXX used the 2085

There's a company out there that makes an aluminum body clip for the x-maxx that should solve your problem
What’s the company name?
I saw thunder rc do a video on it.. @@redbanditracing
Oh, you are talking about GPM aluminum body clip. I did contact GPM they are not in stock yet but I’ll definitely grab one.
@redbanditracing yeah I think I'm going to grab one too
