This song covered all sides of the civil war: Dixieland, the republic and all my trials, a slave song. This performance was from the Aloha concert live from Hawaii in 73 seen by over a billion people. What a wonderful ambassador Elvis was for the USA. The King is loved and missed!!!
I heard/read that on Sundays, Elvis used to go to the African American church and stand in the back - when he was a kid. This is why Gospel and soul had such a huge influence on him. He loved people of all colors, too. After he was rich, he went to a Cadillac dealer. There was an older African American woman admiring the cars through the window. Elvis went out and introduced himself. She was smiling & blushing and replied "I know who you are".😊 He asked her if she was going to buy a Cadillac. She told him she couldn't afford one, but would just come and dream occasionally. He bought her a Cadillac on the spot. That was Elvis Presley...
Robert Doran what can I say that hasn't been said about the greatest show former football time originate Yours Truly Tim Mangano talkin about Elvis Presley you was the grave used phrase said by Muhammad Ali I guess I'll say it again Simply the Best of the Best keep hope alive,???
He treated the Supreme's like the Queens they were! They wanted to call him "BOSS" he wouldn't allow them to do that. He said "I'M NOT YOUR BOSS BUT YOUR BROTHER!" When he went to play in Houston they asked him not to use the Supremes because they were black and he told them if they don't perform then I don't perform and also, said to the promoters to give them the SAME ROYAL TREATMENT they did him. And they did riding in a open motorcade with their car behind his the SAME WAY! They were and are his equal and he let everybody know that. This man didn't have a racist bone in his body. He one time bought a black woman window shopping at the Cadillac dealership asking her if she like the one in the showroom she said she did. He said that one had been reserved for him but pick out any other cadillac for herself. He bought her, her husband, and her son a cadillac and bought them a new house AND paid for her son's college this man NEVER MET THEM BEFORE. Most generous entertainer in the world!
The great thing is to watch how much pride and confidence had in his band and singers. Those little smiles, looks and things he did to let them know they were kicking ass. Hard to fight the chills back on this song.
He had a stylist. His stage costumes were drawn for his approval then made. The details were amazing. Those are plastic on his costumes. They could weigh up to 40 lbs. That man is almost a religious experience.

'' Aloha From Hawaii ' aired on January 14, 1973 ! NO other Star before or Since Elvis has done a Worldwide Concert by Satellite !!
The director asked him to keep it close to center stage because of the number of cameras. The only song he really moved away from center stage was suspicious minds.
Hey good people, history facts, Elvis was not the first to wear the jump suit, it was little Richard, his jump suit was powder blue with a cape with small mirrors on the inside of the cape, so that when the spot light hit him it would light up the whole room. Elvis and Liberace loved to see that man's shows in Vegas, Elvis chose white jump suit so you can see him better from the cheap seats, Liberace put rhinestone on his suits so that only he would glitter on stage. All three men loved and respected each other their whole carriers, no beefs, love and respect. Much love from Jacksonville Fla.
And look at the BLING! Nobody has ever gotten it, not over the KING! There's a video, of him rehearsing, he's wearing a watch that's the biggest I've ever seen, encrusted with diamonds. I mean, he was wearing it b4 there was a word for it.
Thanks for posting! I was fortunate to see Elvis in 1977 2 months before he passed. His voice was still amazing and the sold out audience still loved him! It was magical!
This was one of Elvis' est known live televised concerts. Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite. He was the first entertainer in history to go live via Satellite. He walked on stage at 3:30 AM...yes AM. That's when the Sattelites were in the right position to beam around the world. It was done January 14th, 1973 from the H.I.C. (Honolulu International Center) arena in Hawaii. The concert was a benefit for the Kuer Lee (A Hawaiian songwriter) Cancer drive. Elvis and his band had been asked to raise $25,000.00, and instead ended up raising $75,000.00. Another interesting fact. There was no set price for tickets to this concert. There was a minimum set, and people were asked to pay that minimum, which was extremely cheap, or whatever they could afford above that. Elvis didn't feel like it could be a true benefit if they got paid to play, so Elvis bought his own ticket and a ticket for every member of his band, orchestra, and backup groups.
Elvis was the ONE & only! He did not like people calling him th King! He knew who the real King was & is Jesus Christ! He was a southern young man & bought many many cars for people & Homes! He is missed to this day! We love him because he was genuinely kind & had a giving heart. In my opinion the sexiest man that ive ever seen but looks fail & fame subsides, its what is on the inside that remains! Bless you for sharing Elvis with this younger generation! Keep up the Good Work!!!👍
The man had it all. This was Aloha from Hawaii, and the jumpsuits he had on weighed between 35 -50 lbs. He was sweating. All the ornamentation and capes made these clothes very heavy. I think it's part of why he didn't do as much dancing on stage as well. From the same concert... The song "Fever". As a woman in my opinion there's nothing sexier out there than that performance.
Elvis presley did a great job on this song. ,,,, listen at the way he sings the last verse in this song about hush little baby ,,,,,I believe he knew he wouldn't be here long. He loved his fans a wanted to make them happy a music was his passion. Especially Gosple songs.
I was so blessed to have seen him in concert twice in the 70's before he passed. At 16, I fought my way to the front row and caught a scarf he threw out that had been around his neck, got jumped by 4 women & the cops cut it into 5 pieces up but my sister "still" has that piece of raggedy scarf!! What a night!!!
One of my favorite Elvis pieces! I've been a fan since I was about 8 (over 50 years) and I'm so glad to see the younger generations growing to learn and appreciate Elvis!!
I can't say if that's sweat, tears or BOTH, but this performance brings tears to the eyes every time! Next you should do Elvis singing "Gave Me A Mountain" from this same concert. And for Elvis looking like the tall, slim, southern hunk that he was, dressed in black and showing swag in his prime, you should do "Return To Sender" from the movie scene Girls, Girls, Girls.
In the Aloha From Hawaii video- The dress rehearsal one-sometimes called The Alternative Hawaii- go to the part where Elvis is introducing his band to the audience. Turn up the volume and you have to be quick- Listen carefully you’ll hear a man shout out to Elvis: “Elvis you’re kicking ass!” And Elvis says, “Thank You, Buddy!
The essence of Elvis was in the 50s he was in touch with his roots and that's when he got to be Elvis early 60s Nashville also he was in touch with himself that's when he was the Elvis he should have and wanted to be he was great later on and gave a lot of great performances but the essence of Elvis were always be in the 50s and early 60s anyway this performance American Trilogy is awesome thank you
Sean, you just contradicted your thesis. I believe it was not possible for him to give such a powerful performance as that Hawaii special in the years 1954 to 1964.
@@timcarr6401 in 1973 he could not have recorded the King Creole album the Elvis is back album he could not have done that in 73 his voice got powerful in some aspects in the seventies but he was a much better singer in the early days a song like Dixieland Rock New Orleans trouble he would not have done that well in 73 dead rock and roll voice of the 50s he could never do in the seventies and those beautiful ballads from the early 60s Fame and Fortune Souldier boy it hurts me suspicion he could never have done that those songs in 73 he did not have the flexibility in his voice he could not hit the high note in the seventies like he did in the early 60s like I said he gave some great powerful performances in the 70s but his diversity as a singer was much better in the early days a song like surrender 1960 he could never have done that in 1973 the fever in Aloha special not even as close as being good as when he did it in 1960 his voice was much smoother in 1960 without a doubt
@drright10 no we did not hit the high note the way he did in the early sixties and yes he was more in touch with his roots in the 50s than anytime after time after yes he could sing different styles after but who Elvis originally was and represented will always be in the 50s you definitely know know what you're talkin about in this guarantee that you couldn't name 25 Elvis songs
@drright10 like I said before if you don't like what I write then don't read it the voice in 1970 was powerful I loved it but 1960 it was way more flexible he could do more things with his voice in the early sixties then the 70s that's not taking anything away from Elvis and I guarantee you I know way more about Elvis and you do so if you see my name somewhere regarding Elvis don't read it that's my advice to you no hard feelings have a beautiful day cuz it's what I'm planning to do

I was one of the fortunate ones to meet this man in 1974.He was so cool to me and my dad.He even gave me a scarf and signed it.I shook his and and he had quite the grip, lol.

To see you just now experience the Famous One and only Elvis is to cool !Your expressions are killing me ! We know every note !
*Confidence is 1 thing...but he was KING so he did WTF he wanted. haha. There can never be another like Elvis*
This was definitely his peak. So sad that he would be gone only four years later. He really was a flaming star.
Gives me chills. I love how he showcases his band. He was a truly humble man.
The more you listen and watch him,you will be amazed,800 songs, something for everyone!!Keep it up girl!!
Elvis has left the building.
Thank you and good night... he never did an encore.. saw him twice in ‘70 and 71’
Elvis presley was the greatest singer a Entertainer in the 20 th century. The gorgeous man ever
He was sweating,suit weighed 30 pounds,thats 1 reason he couldn't move as much as usual!!The biggest event,hugh!!
The director asked him to keep it close to center stage because of the number of cameras. The only song he really moved away from center stage was suspicious minds.
He is the first to wear the outfits. He did it "his way".
Elvis could pull off the style and swag of a pimp in a full length mink coat😂 Awesome stuff!
Elvis 💕💕💕😍😍❤️💜💚👄🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing "THE king of music 👑👑
THE gold voice 🎶🎼🎵🔊
Thanks for posting! I was fortunate to see Elvis in 1977 2 months before he passed. His voice was still amazing and the sold out audience still loved him! It was magical!
You are a very fortunate man. I'm so jealous.
My dad was a truck driver at the time and was in in Missouri when Elvis died and brought home from Kansas City a newspaper about his death.
Loved the info. I remember learning about him buying the first ticket
Keep up the Good Work!!!👍
he was sweating like crazy, he gave every ounce of energy he had. he meant what he was saying, he felt the songs deeply.
The man had it all.
This was Aloha from Hawaii, and the jumpsuits
he had on weighed between 35 -50 lbs. He was
sweating. All the ornamentation and capes made these
clothes very heavy. I think it's part of why he didn't do as much
dancing on stage as well.
From the same concert... The song "Fever". As a woman in my
opinion there's nothing sexier out there than that performance.
Love his voice its operatic it’s a gift from god he is also extremely handsome and lots of charisma
Great video ! And of course Elvis remains the unbeatable King, yesterday today and forever !
Elvis presley did a great job on this song. ,,,, listen at the way he sings the last verse in this song about hush little baby ,,,,,I believe he knew he wouldn't be here long. He loved his fans a wanted to make them happy a music was his passion. Especially Gosple songs.
A M A Z I N G *1.000.000.000
I love love love love Elvis 💕
Reaction ✌️👌👍
More Elvis please thanks 😎👑
Its both tears and sweat. He gets very emotional on a lot of his songs he puts his heart and soul into his music .
Top 3 singers of all time
1)Elvis
2)Elvis Presley
3)Elvis Aron Presley
NUFFSAID!!
Matthew you rock !! He is the best
Truer words were never spoken!
Love it!
E L V I S
has a voice at 5 octaves !
E L V I S
has millions of FANS from all over the world !
I`m one of his FANS ... Francis
Another LUCKY one
Except very early in his career- Elvis NEVER left the stage to less than a standing ovation!!!
Hard to top that! ☆TCB☆
One of my favorite Elvis pieces! I've been a fan since I was about 8 (over 50 years) and I'm so glad to see the younger generations growing to learn and appreciate Elvis!!
Love this song SOOOO much. The viral video of the baby singing this is so adorable.
This was amazing. The man's voice was incredible till the end!
Yeah....love the power. Thank ya, Baby girl.
He's sweating his ass off. You can see it running down his head into his eyes
And that's why he is a king God bless all love ya
Elvis in 56" is pretty cool too
The essence of Elvis was in the 50s he was in touch with his roots and that's when he got to be Elvis early 60s Nashville also he was in touch with himself that's when he was the Elvis he should have and wanted to be he was great later on and gave a lot of great performances but the essence of Elvis were always be in the 50s and early 60s anyway this performance American Trilogy is awesome thank you
Sean, you just contradicted your thesis.
@drright10 like I said before if you don't like what I write then don't read it the voice in 1970 was powerful I loved it but 1960 it was way more flexible he could do more things with his voice in the early sixties then the 70s that's not taking anything away from Elvis and I guarantee you I know way more about Elvis and you do so if you see my name somewhere regarding Elvis don't read it that's my advice to you no hard feelings have a beautiful day cuz it's what I'm planning to do
Great entertainer, singer great person and a very giving person. Just a great package
You know your daddy's bound to die.
And all my trials Lord will soon be over.
4 years later they were.
43 years 😪
This always makes me 😢
The King of Rock n Roll.
Thank you! Tribute to the civil war veterans, we tend to forget them. Elvis was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He is Dixie Land. He was the ultimate patriot!
Lordy he was Gorgeous!! 🥰 It’s sweat
Wow your raw expressions and emotions were priceless...Of course Elvis is the king...
Your channel is awesome and so are you !! Long live the King!!
omg just found you! LOVE YOU...AND LOVE LOVE LOVE the music you react to!!!! Being alive when he was alive was OUT OF THIS WORLD.
I was one of the fortunate ones to meet this man in 1974.He was so cool to me and my dad.He even gave me a scarf and signed it.I shook his and and he had quite the grip, lol.
You were ever so lucky,,l am almost jealous
An American Trilogy is a 1971 song medley written arranged by country composer Mickey Newbury .
You noticed Elvis .
Well I'm glad you are no longer deprived.
Dd
I feel some of the king's best was Aloha from Hawaii and the sound track for Blue Hawaii. Today even after all this years, his is still revered in Hawaii as well as the rest of the world.
No one ends a song like Elvis. He is the man👍👍👊
First concert my dad took me too. My parents owned a music shop for 45 years. I was about 11 when I saw him.
And on the 8th day God created Elvis
I'm so glad you reacted to this!!!! He was an awesome performer.
You should react to him singing Fever, from the "aloha from Hawaii" show.
he totally plays the crowd and he knows the effect he has on them and it amuses him it's so cute
He is one I never liked much growing up and the older I get the more the more I think this guy was great
