Does the torsion beam underperform in roads with uneven surfaces or potholes?
I used to scared with slippery roads when driving at Genting but I am used with it now, when watching this video I have the feeling of myself getting slippery feeling..

Yes . If I pump 97 the engine becomes better. There is a difference between 95 and 97 for my mazda 3 sky active and yes the gear box is superb

As Bobby says about the intuitiveness in Mazda's new skyactiv engines, I also can felt it in my dad's 2014 cx9. Different engine, same feeling. Weird huh
Use 97 and it does feels much better.... however i tried using petronas 95 pro-drive and it feels almost similar to the 97..not as smooth as 97 but better than others 95 out there....
Petronas 95 pro-drive really has a bit ummphhh.... I don't use others now.
How about caltex 95? Is it comparable in terms of performance especially in long distance n stop n go situation~
what do you think of the chance for mazda to bring in mazda 3 2.5T version? i think it will be the ultimate car, when its styling and powerful engine combine together.

Use fully synthetic engine oil will improve the engine noise alot. mazda maintenance uses semi-synth thats why engine makes alot of rev noise at low rpm.
own a mazda2 skyactiv 1.5. Does feel diff when pump 97 compare to 95. From there, always 97 if possible.
What stock tyres that comes with this Mazda 3 when you were testing?
I hv Skyactiv gen 1 (first came to MY) and the gen 2 (ie. current CX-5).. Tbh, I'm not too sure. Using 97 because engine is high compression and 97 is on Euro 4M hence less ppm, I'm hoping it's better for the engine in the long run..

My Hyundai Sonata 2.4 2010. It also downshift when it detects inclination. It also downshift when you’re pressing brake during downhill to help slow down the car besides you’re pressing the brake.
And I’m also impressed with its handling. Good responsive, very enjoyable to drive 😁
It's very different, Mazda's one is intuitively knowing what you're doing. Driving normally, or driving excitingly .. you go try it, very different from the usual downshifts that normal cars does.
Would the hatch differ from the sedan in terms of road dynamics? A comparison between this and the civic would be great!

Petron RON100 + Fully Syntactic = “Best you ever had”.
There's a Japanese based Malaysian car that also allows engine noise into the cabin to make the drive more involving and exciting- proton wira hahaha. Everytime the 4G__ engine revs, omg sensation to my ears. On the other hand campro engines also have a sweet revving sound that u would appreciate, but once it climbs to higher revs, the engine will team up with the punch CVT, only to make the engine noise unbearable 😛.

Depends what you want. If you want powerful engine, lower price and spacious rear leg room, then Civic. Ride and handling, luxury feel and refinement, choose Mazda3.
been using RON95 on my skyactive mazda 3 since i get the car, i tried RON97 before, it doesn't give me extra mileage (or negligible increase in mileage) or quieter engine, there is zero engine knocking from my car as well
i just use a better engine oil and follow service interval, changing the ATF oil every 20k mileage, that's all, the petrol station i visit is ONLY Caltex or BHP, engine is quiet and no vibration even after 3 years
I feel the same. The difference between 95 vs 97 is insignificant even during highway cruising. But the difference between fully syn 0w-20 engine oil and the semi syn 5w-30 given by Mazda is significant. If anyone has read the manual, Mazda has recommended to use fully syn 0w-20 but unfortunately Mazda Malaysia only give you semi syn 5w-30 during your free maintenance. I'm glad my car is on 3 years free maintenance instead of 5 years, at least not another 2 years to be screwed by Mazda Malaysia.
actually a good and reputable fully synth w-30 engine oil is fine for skyactiv, good w-20 is not available in many workshop yet, even online is quite rare
while my car is within warranty period i go to service center for free service to maintain my warranty, after service i drive to workshop outside to change to my preferred engine oil without changing the oil filter
I did exactly the same thing... mine has another 2 free maintenances to go.. just wondering do I want to go back to service centre once the free maintenance is fully used up.. despite I might be risking the remaining 2 years warranty...

Another Japanese competitor Altis also using torsion beam and it is fun to drive with comfort. Why not test drive Altis FC to compare.
R u kiddin me? Only altis does offer double wishbone in this segment, even civic fc with multilink but flexed casis but still could not compared to this mazda torsion beam in terms of cornering stability~

Passat. And Passat is a larger car. But in terms of design, technology, styling, used car value, reliability, service etc, mazda is way ahead now.

There is a huge difference with 97 compared to 95. Power comes faster and smoother at all times.

quiet than your Audi compare to what year of your Audi ?
Yes pumping Ron 97 will have a smoother engine and give more power whereas for Ron 95 , you can feel the car jerk a bit if you pump Ron 95 often. A piece of advise, don’t pump Ron 95 in skyactive engine for the sake of saving on the lower grade fuel. It will hurt the engine and high cost repair in the long run.
Ken Lim did this on mine...nvr tried ron95 at all since the firstime i bought it..afraid might low down the performance
Skyactiv engine is high compression engine. It’s need a high octane to boost the engine. I did tried using Ron 95 the first week I bought it and it felt sluggish and jerky.

this new mazda 3 compression ratio is 13:1 !! holy damn more compression ration than Audi R8 5.2L V10. even the new Honda Civic Type R only has 9.8:1 compression ratio. Obviously, pumping 97 and above to this new Mazda 3 will give you more power since the RON97 is efficiently optimized to deliver its performance to this Mazda engine.
Just to add, if you drive car with 10:1 compression ratio and below, Ron 97 won't give you significant difference on engine performance, only difference on your bank account. slightly. haha. so if you drive a Proton, Perodua, Honda, or Toyota, just use RON 95. It is the most efficient petrol for you, good enough already. pumping 97 will be useless, only give you unburned fuel, and 10% more CO2 emission.
Turbo engines tend to have lower fix compression ratio because the compress air does add more air into the engine. In return it brings up variable compression ratio during boost.
Engine seems rather underpowered
Not doubting your capabilities but driving this fast in such road condition then you're putting others in significant amount of risk and danger, not great....(thoughts from one who usually enjoy watching all your reviews)
