I expected Soul Reaver here since you had a video comparison on it with Duckstation etc. The blendoverlay and my_old_tv looked awesome for 3D. Crt-sines was awesome on SF3 too. Thank you for this guide! I appreciate it.
Good job there. You highlighted a few shaders that I haven't tried yet. Hope all the people saying original graphics are best are using a CRT TV otherwise they have no idea how original looks.
Flippin gorgeous! I went to school for video game art. They taught us that pixelation is artifact that only exists when you broke an image by scaling it up. Pixelation is ugly, unprofessional, so NEVER scalp up. Retro games never looked ugly on original hardware and TVs of their time. I can't stand when they call pixelation "nostalgic," its not (except 8bit era and prior). So I LOVE shaders like these that will essentially redraw the art. The gameplay was already mostly AMAZING, now these shaders give the games a graphical facelift, making them all super enjoyable and refreshed for the modern era, like a remaster. I love it!
@@ivanlyutiy7437 Currently I'm knee-deep in making my new content, and to be frank, this video got a lot of hate from viewers. I can only imagine how some will react when they accuse me of desecrating their beloved Doom with Retroarch shaders. It's not a risk I'm willing to take.
I have tried upscale but i have never mess around with shaders but tell me something. Is getting shaders up and running on duck station possible? And where can i get it and how to apply it?
Duckstation does have some shaders. It's not nearly as diverse or numerous, but it has a cel shader, for example. Go to settings in the menu and then select post-processing. That's where the shaders are.
Duckstation also has shaders, although not as many. You can import more if you know what you're doing. But for simple ease of use, Retroarch is a little better.
I think smoothing in ps3 work as bilinear filter that makes games look somewhat soft, I always prefer set to nearest neighbor to achieve that sharp pixelated look
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 it’s difficult to explain: i use lcd tv as a general monitor and connect to crt monitor and crt tv with hdmi converter. It depends on where you're playing from. If you're on pc or Mac, then yes. If you're on mobile devices, you may have to download the shaders through the online updater.
Sorry to say, but there are absolutely no rules when it comes to these things. Gamers can do whatever they want, and only console fanboys usually object to this.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 thats absolutely right, but making everything cell shaded isnt very accurate from a graphical stand point or the creators intention. @@ClosestNearUtopia That's bullsh!t. I make these videos to transcend console graphics - not replicate them. And if you question this, go play with your PS1 that's hooked up to your crappy CRT tv. Again, emulation exists to IMPROVE on the original. That's all I have to say.

Exactly. 💯
Uso CRTemudriver com uma R9 280x e diversos emuladores de consoles antigos, então posso garantir que isso sim faz a diferença!...

I'm so glad you love it.
Those shaders look great. I need to experiment more with them. Thanks for showing it to us
Ficou muito top meu amigo parabéns.
Que venha mais vídeos desse em outros sistemas também.
Esse é o plano. Obrigado por assistir e aproveite seu fim de semana.
I like the shaders on retroarch, but I absolutely love the original, wobbly ps graphics.
Fair enough. This video was made mostly for the lols anyway.
Most of us don't have a CRT lying around to view those original graphics on though.
For 3D games, "blendoverlay" is awesome. For 2D, don't like the results, but I'll test with blend too see what happens. Thanks for the video!
It's good to experiment.
Vagrant Story looks actually amazing
i don't mind the OG ps1 graphics at times but there's something about seeing a game upscaled with shaders (of course) hit different for me
Yeah, and since nobody else is making videos like this, I'm going to give you what you never knew you wanted. 😄
Can I know where to find the (Cel-TV ) shaders that you used in FF9 , it looks great thank you
I did not expect to see rollcage.
Nice one.
Would also be cool to see Diablo 1 with this treatment
Oh yeah, you were the Diablo guy from a few weeks back.
Amazing, its looks like when i first playing ps1 game at 2004
I enjoyed watching this. Thank you
CAN YOU PLAY DOOM ON DIFFERENT SHADERS??? (for the video)
Sure, why not?

makes a big improvement in every game
If I can get RetroArch working on the Series S in dev mode it'll be a gamer-changer with some of these shaders.
Oh, is that still a thing? I thought Microsoft banned emulators.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 - I hope not. That's the only reason I bought a Series S. I remember watching a MVG video that said they rescinded it.
Can confirm that retroarch still works through dev mode. Takes ages to set up but totally worth it.
im guesssing there is no more settings that would make the textures more smooth ,there are stil plenty pixalated ones
Wow, those shaders do an awesome job. Great video :)
Thanks.
So everything is borderlands? Still its a good upgrade over vanilla and looks good on many games.
I have tried upscale but i have never mess around with shaders but tell me something.

Duckstation does have some shaders. It's not nearly as diverse or numerous, but it has a cel shader, for example.
Go to settings in the menu and then select post-processing. That's where the shaders are.
It's possible to add more shaders (glsp files) in DuckStation's shader directory.
wow this is just incredible! Is it important to set it up? I am also interested in what is better for PC RetroArch or duckstation? Thanks)
Duckstation also has shaders, although not as many. You can import more if you know what you're doing. But for simple ease of use, Retroarch is a little better.
Is this possible on Miyoo mini plus?
Never heard of it. Is it an Android phone?
miyoo mini emulator device similar to a gameboy@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760
doubt it, shaaders slow down my not so new s10e
Most of the applied shaders make games darker losing details in textures. You can barely see anything.
What about ps3 game upscaler and smoothing in xmb setting are there difference
I think smoothing in ps3 work as bilinear filter that makes games look somewhat soft, I always prefer set to nearest neighbor to achieve that sharp pixelated look
I play on emulators and connect my pc to crt at the same time. It’s cool

where u get shaders
ps1 games looked a lot better on crt screens, so yes, the upscale make them a lot better for nowdays screens.
Shaders help a lot. 😁
That statement doesn't make sense.
Can I play like this on android? Or it's for windows retro arch only?
I don't know, actually.

I‘ll look into it thanks! :)@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760
Toonshader I think. I havent played around with shaders in a long time. Good video.
Thanks. The toonshader is essentially a weaker cel shader, so it may be popular with some folks.
cel shading filter does wonders to ps1 games
I always thought the wobbliness off ps1 graphics looked stupid
all look better except from symphiny if the night
Its doesnt like retro games. Its more like borderline universe. Nice..
That's impressive. What hardware is this running off of? I just need a ballpark so I know how many kidneys I'll have to sell.
Oh no, as long as you have a 2Gb gpu with any Intel/AMD cpu of the last decade, you'll be perfectly fine.
