    Thnx for the advices. I have a lot of fun with my Anbernic RG503 (reprogrammed with Arkos). It seems to be the perfect machine to emulate the GBA

    This is great, thank you very much! Love these kinds of videos, very well laid out.
    Do individual cores have online resources explaining what their individual settings do? And so shaders in retroarch have any sort of previews online to get a better sense of that each one does? I've not located anything like that, and trying each individual shader out sounds very time consuming just to see what it does.

      Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate that!
      The libretro database has really good data pages for each core. I usually just Google "Libretro [core name]" to find the info page for the core I'm looking for. As an example here is the Libretro page for mGBA: docs.libretro.com/library/mgba/
      For shader previews, the following is a nice github page that has previews of many of the available shaders laid out in the same folder structure as found in RetroArch: github.com/libretro/shader-previews/

      By the way @@otggaming3180, is there any borderless version of this shader?? If not, is there a way to eliminate it?

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  5 місяців тому +1

      @@marcmontaner03 I don't know if there is a borderless version, but there is a way to eliminate it. In the shader parameters, there is an option called "Border scale." If you set it to "1.00" you should no longer see the border.

    I feel like the gbSP core needs to be mentioned as well. On weaker systems like the Miyoo Mini Plus on more demanding games like Drill Dozer, I find gbSP gives me relatively smooth performance, whereas mGBA gives me a lot of slowdown.

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  Місяць тому

      Absolutely on point... gbSP works great on less powerful hardware.

    for me personally I really like to use 16:10 for the aspect ratio. its especially nice if you have a 16:10 monitor or are playing on a steam deck or something. this aspect ratio is especially good for all of the snes ports because those games originally had pixels that were slightly stretched horizontally, so it actually ends up being technically more accurate than the original 3:2 that the gba used. 16:9 is also not too bad but for me the stretching is a bit too much.

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for sharing those insights. I didn't know that about the SNES ports. Makes me want to give it a try. I don't have a Steam Deck yet and comments like yours make me want to count my pennies to see if I can fit it in the budget... 😂

    Does the handheld border shader pack only work with vulkan? I noticed it was labeled as ‘slang’.

    Does anybody know the fix to the micro stutter on Pokemon sometimes while playing on Android. It doesn't change no matter the device. Or is it normal. I haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. Is it from having it in fullscreen? Pixelate shader seems to minimize it but not full eliminate the stutter.

    mgba also has motion though..

    • @otggaming3180
      @otggaming3180  6 місяців тому +1

      Is it included in the RetroArch core? I thought it was only available in the standalone mGBA emulator. If I missed it, my apologies...

    • @Joao-hf1qm
      @Joao-hf1qm 6 місяців тому

      @@otggaming3180 on mgba has a option i guess that enable transparency and motion blur, although you could add it from shaders dedicated pastes from retroarch.
