I used to fill my tank once the reserve tank or the low fuel indicator turned on, I got 28.9 on city roads but the economy itself shows 30(stuck)😅. And the next thing I bought is my Scrambler 400x on Jan 12, 2024, recently I observed that something was getting loose and hitting at the left side under the footpeg. I thought it was due to the chain and ran to the service. Then I was shocked😮 The technician thoroughly checked and said that it wasn't happening with the chain. Namaskara, Using my scrambler baby since last 5 months, crossed over 5k kms, its an awesome machine to ride. But my area of concern is 1. Headlight - It could have been better 2. Seat - Been using stock seat, its not that good, have to try quilted seat and see how that works
Hi, what grade of fuel are you using in your bike? I've been using normal fuel in mine since the first day and was wondering if higher octane petrol would make any difference since it has a compression ratio of 12:1
Hi, i have changed the engine oil to castrol 10w50 super bike. Man now the bike is smooth, vibe free & Heats less when compared to the Hp prolube. Also the unwanted tappet noise is also not present. The stock oil is of low quality and looses is viscosity fast.
I have about 1000km on mine now, and am also very pleased indeed with it. My only complaints are the truly shocking headlight performance at night, and the over-bright instrument backlight. The headlight I can live with or work around, but I would welcome suggestions for dimming the brightness of the display.
Hi Bosky Sir Im starting off for Zanskar and beyond next week on my Scrambler400x. My old tankbag and saddlebags from my Intercptr are good to go. One Question Boss.(ky).. Can the sidestand be fixed by shortening stem base and rewlding the baseplate? Cos lean angle just not enough.. Hilly terrain sometimes one has to turn bike around 180 deg to park Thanks Chief!
@bigbearbangalore Thanks Boss.. Yessir..ensuring weld rod and workmanship as good as OE is what one has to do. Exactly Thanks again The Scrambler400x has done 1500km with 02 oil changes at 200 & 1000 odo. Haven't gone beyond 4800 rpm till now..will open her up on the expressways up North...
@bigbearbangalore Sir first let me Thank you for responding to questions. Don't know if you tube is an enabling platform, but your kindness and patience is praiseworthy. Sir my Feb 24 Scrambler has done 1500km, 02 oil changes and carefully ridden..max 4500rpm till now. Today went for a 5 km run, 2nd-4th gear on empty side roads no traffic. In 10 min of riding the radiator fan got activated half a dozen times. Rode it on straight empty road at 60kmph in 5th for 1km, stopped to check- in neutral the fan was on. Rode 1km gentle decline in 5th at 60km, stopped in neutral- fan was on. IS THIS NORMAL? Though I've done 3 runs x 300 km I.e. my place to dealership without problems Thanks again sir PS..At other times I ride cpl km and fan doesnt start
Bosky, any recommendations for the brake levers for the Speed 400? There is just too much empty travel before it starts to bite. Would you recommend getting a RCB master cylinder kit to also help improve the braking?
@@bigbearbangalore Yes Bosky am aware of the shift to Galfer pads. The pads on my Speed 400 come with sintered ones as you know. No complaints about the braking but just that I have to pull the lever in quite a bit before it feels like the brakes are being engaged. That’s all
Introduction: Hi there, I’m from Mumbai, 43 years old, 5'6" in height, and pretty muscular. Moving the weight of the bike won’t be an issue for me. Previous Bike Ownership: I’ve owned and ridden bikes like the Pulsar 200, Unicorn, Karizma, Gixxer 150, and for the last 3 years, I’ve been riding a Suzuki Access. Daily Usage: My primary use for the bike will be commuting 5 days a week to and from the office. Occasionally, I will use it for urban touring. Bikes I’ve Liked: 1. Triumph Speed 400: I love the look of this bike. It’s the most beautiful I’ve seen. When I rode it, I felt it was both jerky and smooth, which leaves me conflicted, but I can't get over its aesthetics. 2. Hero (Maverick): I loved how it rides-it felt great on the road. However, its looks are a downer for me because it’s not retro enough. 3. Royal Enfield 350: I like it, but I’m uncertain about whether it’s the right choice for me. Request: What would you suggest considering my daily usage, preferences, and concerns with the above bikes? I also rode triumph 400 scram... It was nice to ride but a bit tall...
Please advise: Was a Classic 500 owner since last 11 years. Now I am looking for a bike which can tour plus commute. Also new bike should have good low and mid range power. I rode 390 ADV on rent for 10 days in Spiti. I felt the the bike always keeps you busy irrespective of the road conditions in terms of gearing and throttling. Also the suspension in broken tarmac road was not comfortable. Otherwise I loved the responsiveness and most importantly how agile the bike feels. Now please suggest should I wait for 390 ADV or should I go with the Scrambler 400X(test ride experience was very good except it doesn't give big bike feel) which is okay for a Scrambler characteristic)
Amazing video as always! What are your views about the Hero Mavrick 440? I went to the Hero showroom but got a test tide in the backdoor galli only, wasn't allowed to actually test it on proper roads, would love a review till it comes to the showroom near me (I went all the way to another city for that galli test drive 😢)
When are you guys coming to tour the USA? Many will take you on epic rides across the country. I’m sure they would host you and you’d have a blast. I’m in.
I own this piece of beauty and my o my I can feel every bit of you said and agree to it..its just a beauty..people who are complaining about heat go and ride a duke 390 or rather any bike of this displacement you will get to know what overheating really means 😂😂 this bike is a real beauty love every bit of it an whatever bosky said its all correct and real ❤
Hi guys! Loving your content. Just wanted to know which one from speed 400 and scrambler woyld you suggest for mainly city commuting. Also, are the headlights good enough for city usage?
Hi Bosky, now that BMC has also launched the air filter for the Triumph 400s, I have a query and hope to gain some insight from you. The DNA air filter is also in the market along with BMC. Looking at their respective details, I noticed that the filtering efficiency of BMC is 97.5% while the DNA’s is 98-99%. Also the BMC can filter upto 7 microns and the DNA upto 5 microns. OEM is 10 microns from what I could gather. Not that these marginal differences matter in the day to day riding of an average motorcycle enthusiast like me, but curious to know. With difference of about ₹1200 with DNA at ₹5499 and BMC at ₹6699, would it be safe to assume that the DNA is the better air filter out of both? Thank you
bosky also speaking about the vibs i think when u change the engine oil and go for a good one it might even become more smooth and refined no ? what are your thoughts on this ?
@@bigbearbangalore it's available for only 4 or 5 minutes to test ride and it's not possible to judge a bike with in that time period. As you guys have personally ride both the bike for a quite a good distance , I am expecting a convincing response.
Haven't ridden the GRR long enough to give a convincing response you seek. I like the 400X suspension over the GRR and like the high speed stability of the GRR over the 400X.
Lovely video. I was also thinking of switching to sintered pads on my Scram 400. But I was thinking of doing it only on the front. Have you switched to sintered on front and back both or only front please? Thank you.
Hey Bosky, I own a Speed 400, and the check engine light keeps coming on. When I went to the service center, they just cleared the error logs in the ECU. This is the third time I've faced this issue. Do you have any idea what might be causing it?
Hi, i remember you speaking about performance air filters and normal air filters, where you said there are not many huge differences between the two, i thought of not changing my bike's air filter after watching it. So I want to know do you suggest me to jump to BMC on my cb350 for better performance?
Hi Bosky, I purchased the Scrambler after your review & test-ride. The bike is built like a tank, but the after sales experience has been TERRIBLE with Keerthi Triumph. Hope this issue gets resolved soon !
Like many, I'm confused between the Himalayan and this bike. I guess, based on your other video comparing the two, the scrambler looks like the choice to go with due to majorly city use (max 20km a day) but what concerns me are the less number of service centres and issues I've seen people raise related to inaccuracies in the instrument cluster. I've test ride both and liked both. The scrambler was fun and the Himalayas was confidence inspiring. Would like your help in deciding..thanks
Hi team, i have question. My 2023 Speed 400 has clocked 4k km since December. After riding at 140 km/h, exhaust sound changed. Switched from XP95 to normal petrol, noticed power drop. Serviced bike, adjusted chain, rear wheel, washed, lubed chain. Still missing XP95 sound. Does exhaust sound change when we use different petrol or this could be a concern ? Kindly let me know pls
What windscreen have you added?.... Has it made a difference when cruising at 120 (wind blast)....I'm a tall rider 6ft 3 and like to tour.. So want to understand how much effect the windshield has....any good alternatives?
Hi sir Loved this video and the insights you shared. 2 questions I am not familiar with riding the big bikes over 100cc so can i jump to this ? At what rpm should i change the gears ?
Hello, sir. I'm planning to purchase either a Scrambler or a Himalayan. I'm drawn to the aesthetic appeal of the Scrambler. This will be my first bike. Could you advise me on which would be better suited for my needs? I'll primarily be using it for city commuting and highway rides. Additionally, has the engine power loss issue in 2nd and 3rd gear been addressed after the latest update? Are there any specific adjustments or settings I should mention when booking the bike?
Couple of questions, if you don't mind: Did you get anything to help with the lack of a center stand? (a moto jack of some sort) I'm really tall (203cm). You think the scram will be relatively comfy for me to ride, from your experience? How has the quality of the paint stacked up? What would be your reco for aftermarket headlights? (i think you said something like mad dog?)
Correct me if im wrong. i have seen in most of your videos you are so happy about the adv 390 and praising it.. why didnt you buy it over the himalayan 450 and now this scrambler too..any specific reason? Potential buyer equally confused about all 3 here. would like a reply. thanks in advance. also since you gave this a 9/10, what would you rate the adv 390 x?
I am planning to install aux lights for my scrambler 400x. It would be nice if you could make some shorts/videos on it and also tips to correctly use it within legal limits and avoid any challan.
I'm still experiencing stalling issues with my Scrambler at 4300 km, despite the service center updating the ECU for the second time. I believe the issue persists. Could it be related to the ECU or the engine oil? 😢
Bosky kindly advise. I would like to upgrade to a more powerful BIKE from my present Honda H’ness CB 350 to triumph scrambler 400 X. I liked Honda NX 500 but it doesn’t fit into my budget. Will it be worth shifting from CB350 Honda H’NESS to this Triumph Scramble
I am a tall rider, 6feet 6, considering to buy a new bike. Want a good balance between comfort and speed. Pillion comfort is also to be considered. Use involves mostly city rides with a long touring once in a couple of months. I will be upgrading from a pulsar 150.Could you suggest me one.
Hello, i am stuck in between these four; Himalayan 452, Yazdi Adventure, V-Strom SX & now this scrambler 400X please reply which one should I consider in budget my usage are like for city i use activa and for adventure rides i need a bike now...
I am planning to upgrade from my BS3 Himalayan. which will you suggest Himalayan 450 or this one. Mine is a 1 bike garage, and I am not into offroading but more into touring.
Hi sir. I own a 500cc Std Bullet. BS3. I m considering of a change. I have the option to stick with only one bike. Should i go with 450 Himalayan or this? Ehat will be your take sir?
I have kind of agree with sir's review, completely honest and unbiased review, but I want to know, what about the mirror, one bike cross 100+, could not see anything about in side mirrors, guys any advice? Also I will install maddog light soon.
Hello sir a fan of your work keep doing it I have a small question as I also own a scrambler 400x I have so much heat like near and close to a grill only on the right rear foot peg of the rider in the inside of the foot where the rear brake is I am just asking is it fine because I am from Chenna and i I know the heat here is a lot and I ride also GT 650 and it didn't seems to bother me that's why I am thinking whether the so much heat only near rear brake lever is a problem or not thank you sir

2. Seat - Been using stock seat, its not that good, have to try quilted seat and see how that works
Thanks for sharing 👍
Hi, what grade of fuel are you using in your bike? I've been using normal fuel in mine since the first day and was wondering if higher octane petrol would make any difference since it has a compression ratio of 12:1
It wouldn’t really…it’s in the manual for the bike..91 octane fuel is recommended which is the octane level of regular fuel in India
Normal
Hi, i have changed the engine oil to castrol 10w50 super bike. Man now the bike is smooth, vibe free & Heats less when compared to the Hp prolube. Also the unwanted tappet noise is also not present. The stock oil is of low quality and looses is viscosity fast.
Great 👍
My mileage is stuck in 30 KMPH from the day i bought it and its been 2500 kms. I thought its only my motorcycle. You're not alone Bosky..

you should be happy people here are getting 16 as their average
Where is "here"?

@@bigbearbangaloreyou can reset the avg mileage. By holding the i button for 5 sec
I have about 1000km on mine now, and am also very pleased indeed with it. My only complaints are the truly shocking headlight performance at night, and the over-bright instrument backlight. The headlight I can live with or work around, but I would welcome suggestions for dimming the brightness of the display.
The display lighting softens up once the headlight is on and I find that quite ok.
Hi Sir.

What is the situation on availability of spares for the 400x? Are they easily available, or are there wait times?
4:53 exactly, the headlights are so bad. cost cutting perhaps?
Don't know....
Hi Bosky Sir
Im starting off for Zanskar and beyond next week on my Scrambler400x. My old tankbag and saddlebags from my Intercptr are good to go.
One Question Boss.(ky)..
Can the sidestand be fixed by shortening stem base and rewlding the baseplate?
Cos lean angle just not enough..
Hilly terrain sometimes one has to turn bike around 180 deg to park
Thanks Chief!
Good luck. Yes say a 10mm reduction will help with lean angle. And ensure that the welding is good.
@bigbearbangalore Thanks Boss..
Yessir..ensuring weld rod and workmanship as good as OE is what one has to do. Exactly
Thanks again
The Scrambler400x has done 1500km with 02 oil changes at 200 & 1000 odo. Haven't gone beyond 4800 rpm till now..will open her up on the expressways up North...
@bigbearbangalore
Sir first let me Thank you for responding to questions.
Though I've done 3 runs x 300 km I.e. my place to dealership without problems
Thanks again sir
PS..At other times I ride cpl km and fan doesnt start
What alternate tyre options are there? I couldnt find similar tyre size on the websites of the popular brands

Bosky, any recommendations for the brake levers for the Speed 400? There is just too much empty travel before it starts to bite. Would you recommend getting a RCB master cylinder kit to also help improve the braking?
I haven't noticed this issue and happy with the way it is.
Besides I've switched to GALFER semi-sintwred brake pads from the organic OEM pads.
@@bigbearbangalore Yes Bosky am aware of the shift to Galfer pads. The pads on my Speed 400 come with sintered ones as you know. No complaints about the braking but just that I have to pull the lever in quite a bit before it feels like the brakes are being engaged. That’s all
Ok and sorry I know not of any solution for this.
@@bigbearbangalore That’s okay Bosky. Thank you
Introduction:
Hi there, I’m from Mumbai, 43 years old, 5'6" in height, and pretty muscular. Moving the weight of the bike won’t be an issue for me.
Previous Bike Ownership:
I’ve owned and ridden bikes like the Pulsar 200, Unicorn, Karizma, Gixxer 150, and for the last 3 years, I’ve been riding a Suzuki Access.
Daily Usage:
My primary use for the bike will be commuting 5 days a week to and from the office. Occasionally, I will use it for urban touring.
Bikes I’ve Liked:
1. Triumph Speed 400:
I love the look of this bike. It’s the most beautiful I’ve seen.
When I rode it, I felt it was both jerky and smooth, which leaves me conflicted, but I can't get over its aesthetics.
2. Hero (Maverick):
I loved how it rides-it felt great on the road.
However, its looks are a downer for me because it’s not retro enough.
3. Royal Enfield 350:
I like it, but I’m uncertain about whether it’s the right choice for me.
Request:
What would you suggest considering my daily usage, preferences, and concerns with the above bikes?
I also rode triumph 400 scram... It was nice to ride but a bit tall...
Hello. Try the Guerrilla 450 and the Speed 400 back to backbto know more.
Please advise:
Was a Classic 500 owner since last 11 years.
Try the Svartpilen 401. That’s the engine on the new 390 Adv.
Yet to see it or ride it.
Which city are you talking about ?

When are you guys coming to tour the USA? Many will take you on epic rides across the country. I’m sure they would host you and you’d have a blast. I’m in.
Oh wow! No plans at the moment although would love to. Thanks.
👍
Hi guys! Loving your content. Just wanted to know which one from speed 400 and scrambler woyld you suggest for mainly city commuting. Also, are the headlights good enough for city usage?
Personal preference. Headlights are not great.
Thank you
May be. I haven't used DNA. And I am quite happy with BMC which I've been using for over 7 years on my different motorcycles.
@@bigbearbangalore @bigbearbangalore Yes, I have watched the cleaning video and the video with Mr/ Ravi on BMC filters. Enjoyed them
Speaking about the vibration and heat please compare with KTM, Himalayan, Old Himalayan, etc. So that we can get a clear idea
All have heat, noise and buzz!
Thanks for sharing your review, What spec are these Galfer pads for Speed & Scrambler?
Stock replacement sintered
@@bigbearbangalore Do you have the exact model number to buy?
bosky also speaking about the vibs i think when u change the engine oil and go for a good one it might even become more smooth and refined no ?
what are your thoughts on this ?
There is some improvement with a top quality fully synthetic oil.
Re gueriila or the scrambler 400x in terms of touring, comfort and high speed stability ?
Try it to know more.
@@bigbearbangalore this reply is convincing enough

Lovely video.
I was also thinking of switching to sintered pads on my Scram 400. But I was thinking of doing it only on the front. Have you switched to sintered on front and back both or only front please?
Thank you.
I've switched both.
Baski and ck sir the way you guys are delivering information sounds like a lullaby to me.😂❤

Hey Bosky, I own a Speed 400, and the check engine light keeps coming on. When I went to the service center, they just cleared the error logs in the ECU. This is the third time I've faced this issue. Do you have any idea what might be causing it?
Needs inspection as to which sensor keeps throwing up the error.
Hi, i remember you speaking about performance air filters and normal air filters, where you said there are not many huge differences between the two, i thought of not changing my bike's air filter after watching it. So I want to know do you suggest me to jump to BMC on my cb350 for better performance?
Marginal performance improvement.
Hi Bosky,
I purchased the Scrambler after your review & test-ride. The bike is built like a tank, but the after sales experience has been TERRIBLE with Keerthi Triumph. Hope this issue gets resolved soon !
Congrats. And I hope so too!
Personal preference. Can’t go wrong with either.
Hey
So if we are changing the breakpads to galfer breakpad do we need to do any other changes to the bike .
12:16
Nope
7:48 - average fuel consumption: every time you refill your tank , you are supposed to reset it like you reset your trip.

Yess my scramb is constantly showing 30km/L i have the same issue.
Coming to the aux lights are maddog alpha 40w sufficient or need to go for 80w?
Alpha is sufficient.
I haven't used any premium petrol to understand if exhaust note changes.
Hi bosky, what is the preload setting for rear suspension you are using? Thanks
Stock. Did not change it from factory setting.
@@bigbearbangalore Can you make a video on the rear mono shock preload adjustment? It is a little confusing. Thanks
What windscreen have you added?.... Has it made a difference when cruising at 120 (wind blast)....I'm a tall rider 6ft 3 and like to tour..
So want to understand how much effect the windshield has....any good alternatives?
Had asked them earlier, the response I got was it's purely for aesthetic purpose doesn't provide wind protection
Purely aesthetic purpose.

Hi sir
Loved this video and the insights you shared. 2 questions I am not familiar with riding the big bikes over 100cc so can i jump to this ? At what rpm should i change the gears ?
It's a light and fast motorcycle. Ride it with care and learn and get better and enjoy the ride.
Heat, noise and vibration are part of the deal.
Im thinking to buy this bike.
But im nervous and also excited, as this will be my first bike
Congrats!
Go for it.
Test ride and choose.
Commuting = 400X
Touring = H450
Hi sir, do you always intake 95 RON petrol for the scrambler?
Only regular fuel. Haven’t bothered with any premium fuels.
Couple of questions, if you don't mind:
Did you get anything to help with the lack of a center stand? (a moto jack of some sort)
I'm really tall (203cm). You think the scram will be relatively comfy for me to ride, from your experience?
How has the quality of the paint stacked up?
What would be your reco for aftermarket headlights? (i think you said something like mad dog?)
Paddock stand.
Test ride to know more.
Good paint.
Mad Dog.

That was before the H450 arrival. And H450 is 9.25/10
I am planning to install aux lights for my scrambler 400x. It would be nice if you could make some shorts/videos on it and also tips to correctly use it within legal limits and avoid any challan.
Amy and all mods are deemed illegal as perbrhe letter of the law. And depends on the cop who stops you.
Is there any chance that the exhaust may burn the saddle bag? As the exhaust is upswept.
Regular saddle bags may face this issue. RAHGEAR doesn't.

Likely too long.

I'm still experiencing stalling issues with my Scrambler at 4300 km, despite the service center updating the ECU for the second time. I believe the issue persists. Could it be related to the ECU or the engine oil?
😢
That's unusual. Raise a compliant to Bajaj and pursue firmly for a resolution.
Yes it can be a step up information of performance and handling.
Hi sir, for a touring purpose would you suggest 400x or Dominar 400?
400X suspension is far better.

Depends on what's your primary purpose and which comfort is more important. Commuting or highway.
