How to repair a leaking Camelbak bladder with an iron

My Camelbak GoBe hydration pack sprung a leak on our morning run. I'm helping my wife train for a HM in May in the States. Since we live in a rural village in Peru where they've never heard of such a thing, let alone sell replacement bladders, I needed to fix it DIY. The soft plastic seems like it would melt well at clothing iron temps so I gave it a try and it worked!

That tube looks like it needs a very good cleaning!

I've been struggling trying to fix mine with everything including cobbler's glue to no avail. I'll try this. Thank you Allen
