  • Ever have a leak in your hydration reservoir? Such as a CamelBak, or Osprey running backpack. If the leak is in the o-ring seal of the cap, you can likely fix it quickly and simply.
I have used this method, and it worked well for me.

Thank you, this worked for me. I also gently unclipped the plastic holder which improved things significantly for some reason...

If you're talking about the plastic holder that keeps the cap attached to the bladder, I agree. It seems to prevent my cap from screwing on straight without cross threading. Always takes me several tries to get it right.

Going to try it. Purchased a new hydrobak a few weeks ago.
First time using it the thing leaked like a sieve despite my closing the cap extremely tightly. Had it replaced. New one did the exact same thing on my second hike. Nothing wrong with either reservoir bag so it's got to be a cap issue.

Anyone know where to get replacement seal? Mine seems to have swelled and is now too big. I tried to use plumbers silicone grease on mine and it still leaks. The seal is swelled up and it pushes out of the sealing area as I turn the cap 90 degrees to lock it in the closed position. I need to replace the seal.

You can, but the problem is that the chemical repair can get in the water.

I didn't notice any funny taste at all. I rinsed it very thoroughly.

This is not a good idea if those rings are rubber because Vaseline will eat right through them over time. So either try a different method or buy a new pack.

Thank you for your excellent note! Do you think silicon would be safe?
