  • In this video, I am showing a simple method for how to repair leaks on a hydration bladder for a hydration pack. This method uses Gear Aid Tenacious Tape and so also doubles as a review for the Tenacious Tape.
Gear Aid Tenacious Tape is originally designed as a waterproof gear and clothing tape for outdoor fabric; however, it has really good sticking power and so I decided to try it for repairing a hydration bladder. Surprisingly, I was not really able to find any simple information online on how to repair leaks in a hydration bladder for Camelbacks or any other type of water bladders.
As this worked really well for me, I thought I'd pass the information along in hopes it would help others out as there are certainly plenty of people who seem to have this problem. Hope it helps you too!
Again, I ordered my Gear Aid Tenacious Tape online from Amazon. At the time I only paid about $9 for a good amount of tape that has lasted me so far for a few years with no problems. This is not a paid advertisement or sponsored video and I have no affiliation with Gear Aid. I needed some good gear tape and Gear Aid Tenacious Tape is what I found and have been very pleased with everything I have used it on.
    Thanks for watching!

Although I appreciate this video (can find all kind of help on YT) I had hoped this would tell me how to fix/replace the tab or plunger(?) on the spigot that's the "off/on" little dial. Do you have any idea? Thank you for this info. 🙂

I'm not sure what you're referring to here in terms of an on/off dial. The only on/off on this is the mouth piece, and it's not a dial. I don't have any kind of a dial on mine. ???

I'm all for saving a buck and fixing my gear when possible but this seems like overkill. A new one costs $15 on Amazon.
Chances are, fixing this will end up with you wearing your water supply instead of drinking it or it running out of water at a bad time when the fix fails while out.

Youve got very valid points. Many of the repair videos we do try to be in the spirit of testing to figure out repairs that can be done in a pinch that can be reliable enough to not give out until a replacement can be done. For gear repairs, we are finding that gear aid tape is more reliable for longer periods than duck tape, is still light weight and works with more materials. This video demonstrates that gear aid is a reliable product for repairing water bladders in the field. We're still running this test since the video was made with no breakdown. So it does reliably last for a while until you can get a replacement bladder. Do we recommend this repair as a permanent solution. To your point...no. But in the field and until you can get a replacement, yes. Great point in your comment 👍. Please continue checking out our content and always feel free to contribute through the comments as you did. Thanks for watching!
