I used to own this CD, back in1995. I was in my late 20's, and a mentor to young kids, in a share house - ex street kids. I put up with some crazy scenes and goings on, some good times, also. I'll NEVER forget, this girl went into my room and stole my copy of FROGSTOMP. I got along with most of these kids, but not this girl. I could never prove it, and never saw it again. That is a thumping, sinister bass intro/riff. silverchair were an amazing talent! Daniel Johns, Ben Gillies, Chris Joannou - thank you for the music and the memories. You blokes were incredible!
Well, it's never too late to discover a new band, at least new to me. Where have I been for the last few years, well I am 65 years old, just took me awhile. I dig these guys.
It was really a blessing to me when my male 1st cousin came from Gensan City and stayed in the house for a few days and introduced me to a rock station in Davao City called NU 107. At first I was always complaining because the songs were so loud and sounded messy. But when I heard for the very first time Israel's son and Tomorrow being frequently played that time, I quickly learned to love those songs and even missed them when I was in school. I just cannot forget those days when I was always so excited to go home directly from school because my mind was full of NU 107 songs. I was 15 that time in high school year 1995. I was even more addicted to music when Pure massacre and Faultline were then always most played with some of my favorite songs from Oasis like Roll with it, Morning glory, Don't look back in anger, Live forever, etc.😉--Aims
Still blown away by how talented these young kids were. Now grown men with a serious legacy and series of albums. Good for them. I think Daniel John's is now 40 or 41. Damn, it goes fast.
I turned 15 in October 95 and you better believe it. Alt Nation era of MTV was the best. Silverchair, Pumpkins, Oasis...much better than Imagine Dragons shit.
I'm always gonna be blown away by Silverchair. I mean, even their name was AMAZING. And I don't even want to get started on their sound. They sound like kids who were at least in their 20's...but to be kids just out of middle school...simply AMAZING. I mean when I think about young singing acts, I'll think about Justin Bieber or The Jonas Brothers. (And it's NOTHING wrong with the way they sounded). If anything, their sound was age appropriate. Only with what Silverchair was throwing down...it's like they went THERE! They went OVER the edge even, and did it oh so RIGHT!!! We need Silverchair more NOW more than EVER!
Did anybody notice he's wearing an offspring shirt? That's hilarious. He did work with offspring. He was original. All the music was going that way, but his lyrics were unmeasurable for being 15 years old. He was a genius. This was my favorite song along with tomorrow and pure massacre. Him and a few other bands along with bush git me through the 90s. Silverchair was one of my all time favorite bands...cliche intended. Sure he had issues and sure they left us behind when they created that crap that to us doesn't belong having the title of silverchair content, but desperate times called for desperate measures. The world was climbing out of the grunge and getting happy again, not like 80s I wanna fly a rainbow through the galaxy kinda happy, but we starved silverchair politically. they didn't let us down, we let them down and to survive they took a risk and it was wrong. Sorry I love these guys and always will. Just their music, I don't actually know them, this is all just speculation, opinion, and universal vulentary mush mouth with great intent. We all love them. Don't be almighty because they made a few different songs. If you never heard of them and straight lines was their first song, you'd label them for that song. They were kids that grew up and made it past fuckin mbop and whoop there it is era. They're survivers. Okay. I'm done. Going to bed.
I believe he also wears a Tool shirt in one of their videos. It's either the Australian or the US version of Tomorrow, I'd have to check. His taste in music was as legit as the musicianship and vocals. Edit: It's the US version. I forgot how much younger they looked in the Australian version, it really hits home that they were literal kids trying to sound like the bands they to which they listened and related, and doing it really well. A music lover could pick up Frogstomp tomorrow and hear Pearl Jam, Metallica, Nirvana, Tool, Soundgarden... it's a shame people punished them for moving away from grunge and diving into a new sound. I personally loved everything up to Neon Ballroom and even found most of Diorama listenable. Daniel got self-indulgent and their fans were...unwilling to evolve with them. I don't blame them for the indefinite hiatus.
I remember hearing this song in the summer of 95 on a radio station 100 miles away from Minneapolis Minnesota called 93.7 the edge. I miss the Grunge scene
James G ....Teens were still retarded in the 90s. The nowadays me would have kicked my 90s ass. Just more teens like these guys to balance out the tards :-). My daughter is 14 and into grunge. I guess I did one thing right
I miss the 90's too. Want to travel back in time and revel in the best music, great economy, and my healthy youthful body that I took for granted. Just one day back in the 90's would be the greatest gift.
So young but so talented! I always loved grunge too so I fell in love with this band back in the 90s! They were very underappreciated and misunderstood! But I got them straight away! ❤️🤗🤘💋🎸

Tremenda Banda!!! Una combinación de sonidos excelentes, y la voz principal, mejor imposible. De 3 chicos de 15 años que no habían terminado la secundaria todavia....
This was popular in the states way before 2K like the copyright says....I still love Silverchair....they weren't another replication of Nirvana produced by the industry...they were who they were....just kids emulating their influences (check the offspring tee in the video)....they weren't polishing knobs like Vedder and Cornell jumping on the grunge bandwagon...and they haven't become a joke like other groups of the same era because of that.

She did not even own a CD player.
I've just realised, this must be about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ himself.... Interesting, and very powerful.
@@markosswald7041 back in those days, the price of CDs... could've easily traded that for a 'foil' LOL
..
@@markosswald7041"she didn't have a CD player😂". She loved Silverchair🤘 Good man for being their Mentor.
I wonder if she listens to them now?
This song aged well.
Free Free Palestine!
🇮🇱🇺🇸🤘
Chris's bass intro... fkn gold! gets ya set up for the rest of the song. classic oz rock!
That bass hits so hard! I wore this CD out!
check out Stageminus "seen it all before" !
@@GrungeProd668 new band? They sound great. I definitely hear some Silverchair influence
@@yoshilulu2321 yeah! and check out Triad "field of view" !
it was also Street fighter II manga soundtrack when Ken is driving his wife around
Aka ur first b friend
Silverchair is one of those bands that I keep “rediscovering” every decade or so. Completely underrated and did so much for rock music in the 2000s
Hi I recommend an Indie song called 'Looking Into The Mirror' by Robert Nix
check out Stageminus "seen it all before" !
I recommend a group called clown core.🤘👍
Neon Ballroom is their magnum Optus IMO
Do u like milly vanilly?😅
Frogstomp was an amazing album... 16 yrs old when they released it. Talented AF!
u have rason the first album have 13 years
15 I think ❤️
🍺🗽🏕️🔥🙃remember this comment
God this album was soooooo good..Israels Son..Tomorrow..Pure Massacre...Suicidal Dreams...Shade..11 year old me was rockin out to this heavy.
This is so good but you must hear "The Wave" or "Whispering Wolf" by SLT 🤘🎧🐺
I was 16 in the mid 90s and if you didn't experience the 90s you most likely missed out on the best decade known to man.
I turned 15 in October 95 and you better believe it. Alt Nation era of MTV was the best. Silverchair, Pumpkins, Oasis...much better than Imagine Dragons shit.
Graduated in 94. 90s was THE best decade ever! I didn’t appreciate it enough at the time, I’m sure none of us did!
That guitar riff is insane, mad props to these guys
Yea I noticed that when it first showed him I literally went to the lyrics to see if anyone's else did
King 250sx Yes
Well said sir
Good job selling the drama, fam.
My teacher literally suggested me this band and im shocked this is so much better then i expected
Thats awesome! What a great band indeed. The Freak Show album is my favorite. Have fun exploring them
@@myspace_forever this isnt a spelling bee. Shush
@@myspace_forever Are you their teacher? haha
lol same my guitar teacher showed me freak and i was like wow this band is amazing
Listen to teachers you may learn a thing 😉
I remember hearing this song in the summer of 95 on a radio station 100 miles away from Minneapolis Minnesota called 93.7 the edge. I miss the Grunge scene
This is so good but you must hear "The Wave" or "Whispering Wolf" by SLT 🤘🎧🔥
every time I watch and listen to this video, I think , how did three little teenagers do this great rock & roll?
+James G agreed the teens of today are retarded cunts to the core
James G ....Teens were still retarded in the 90s. The nowadays me would have kicked my 90s ass. Just more teens like these guys to balance out the tards :-). My daughter is 14 and into grunge. I guess I did one thing right
cristian camilo marin cano because they love to play rock
Wasn't daddy a label head? It helps a bit. Either way great band
with you on that...
With the OFFSPRING t-shirt : at that time (1995) : YEAAAAAH !!!!
Looking bak now I'm 35 like them : funny how mature was their sound
Delphine EDMONT they're in their late 30's so around 37 I've read but oh how I miss the 90's, such an awesome time to have grownup in
Daniel Johns is 40 now
Silverchair was a good band.. Offspring sucks. Ok ! next 🤙🤙🤙
The force is strong in these ones.
Yes! Offspring. I Also had the shirt🤣😂😆
One of the greatest rock bands of all times 🍻🇦🇺❤️
My favourite band forever and always! Daniels voice is something to be reckoned with!
Goddamnit i'm old. I miss the alt generation so much.
I miss the 90's too. Want to travel back in time and revel in the best music, great economy, and my healthy youthful body that I took for granted. Just one day back in the 90's would be the greatest gift.

BRAZIL 2023, SILVERCHAIR LIVES!
20 years ago since this album was released and I still get pumped hearing this song like the first time I heard it in 95
Crazy to think 2015 was already 6 years ago
I'm 14 years old when first time heard this song... 2 weeks later I bought the album and I never regretted it bcoz frogstomp its a great album
2022.. still so raw, never old!!! 🤟💪💖
oh God, I miss this sound, this band, this poet Daniel Johns, in this best way, now this band is just a memory, and I never got to see this live...
The intro to this song is the definition of the over driven bass. Magnificent.
FunkyHonkyCDXX finally you can hear the bass. Legends
FunkyHonkyCDXX the bass is from Pearl jam, still an amazing copy though

Frogstomp is an elite album.
Ft. Milli vanilly
So young but so talented! I always loved grunge too so I fell in love with this band back in the 90s! They were very underappreciated and misunderstood! But I got them straight away! ❤️🤗🤘💋🎸
Just one of my Silverchair favorites that really made me to be totally addicted to rock music.I always love this Aussie trio: Daniel's voice and guitar riffs, Chris famous intro bass lines and Ben's heavy and nice drumming.👍✌️🤘😉
Holy shit! That scream at the end. Magnificent
The screaming with the fast guitar sets something off inside me, man. It’s awesome
i used to think he wrecked his vocal cords but good song otherwise
How would you like to make that mouth filthier on something else holy? (Unzips)
Their greatest song from their greatest album. Loved this song from the first time I heard it on the street fighter movie as a kid.
Still listen to this album to this day. Such a great album.
Street Fighter the animated movie!!!!
The riff is a killer.... so heavy....
Yesssssssssssss !!! Thought I was the only one 🤘
me too!!!!!!!!!
Ken car chicks. Lord thank you
The post I was looking for.
2021..........44 years old and still loving this!!!!
Newcastle culture personified in some the best grunge music the world has ever heard. You just have to walk along Nobby Beach, Newcastle, and the bands music is with you all way. What a talent....It's the best thing that ever came out of Newcastle. It won't go away. Luv it!!
I dunno, Super Huberts talent was enough to rival Silverchairs for talent out of Newcastle. Joking BTW. I do miss the 90s growing up in Newcastle and silverchair and contemporaries are the sounds of my teens
I was their age when this came out and I thought it was an awesome album but now today, many years later, anytime I hear them I’m blown away of how great an album this was and they were kids. They wrote amazing stuff and some really great lyrics for such a young age. This album still holds up today, still better then most of what’s on the radio now
Can’t believe these guys were my age when they wrote this. Absolute masterpiece of a song.
Silverchair helped me get through some dark times as a teen. One of my favourite bands!!
Facts. Me too
Me, also!
wow, 24 years on. I thought i'd got everything out of this track. It's great to listen again with new ears after some time away. great album
Such a badass band for their years… and mine. Thank you Silverchair with my rocking back in the day. You still rock.
This was my band in my angst youth. But I still enjoy them today so much. It’s just good music! Such talent. That voice is just beautiful.
This is still one of my favorite songs by them. I dont care about the lyrics, I like how it sounds!
I only stumbled upon this band in the last few months. I still can't believe these guys were all of 15 when their debut album came out, 15!!! They have the poise and vocals that would make you think they were in their mid 20's at least. Damn impressive.
Him wearing the Album Smash just makes this so 90's that I just want to hit a bong and drink Ice beer like it's 1996
I was 14, this was my go to over Alice and Chains all day..... Kinda get the feels 30+ later
Ouvi demais esta banda na minha juventude... minha irmã amava eles... os anos 90 foram incríveis... se a gente soubesse disso na época... MTV, muita farra e rock and roll!
This video and that scream are perfection
a lot of killer sound coming from only 3 guys!!! LOVE Daniel Johns even now 2022 ❤
3 teenagers ripping everyone's ears to shred in the early nineties, God I miss my childhood....
Most likely Jews, milli vanilly ish
Desde el 2013 que buscaba esta canción, recuerdo que la daban en la radio hasta q no la volvieron a dar y gracias a la tecnología (IA) la pude volver a encontrar. Solo me queda decir TEMAZOOOOO 😁😁😁
Frogstomp is one of the best rock albums. Ever. Extremely under-appreciated.
This band rocked like no other they got no hair on their balls yet there music is mind blowing ... i miss the good old days of great OZ rock n roll ..cheers ...
Daniel Johns- one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
Best album they ever made! Daniel Johns is more of a man here then he is now!
Still to this day one of my favorite bands ever! These kids Fing jammed. The fact that kids this age could express themselves this way in phenomenal, 2020 and I still steer people towards Frogstomp, I have a hard time still now explaining it!
he's got an offspring shirt lol hell yeah
And in the Tomorrow video, he’s wearing a Tool shirt 😊
look his guitars at that era. He had Bad Religion and Tool stickers \m/
A tool shirt in the tomorrow video too.
Discovered this in the 90s when I was a teen. still listening to this album now almost 30 years later. It's timeless .
If there is one band that summed up my youth, it's Silverchair.
"I hate you and your apathy!"
maybe the greatest rock song created by a bunch of 16 year olds ever?
Kevin Swartz Actually 14 year olds...
Kevin Swartz pretty much, yeah!
Kevin Swartz
Maybe the greatest band composed of 16 year olds ever?
Pedro Moniz Teixeira No, that would be Decapitated!
+Farrah Joseph Pure Massacre!
First song on the album. Freakin rocked man. Gen X
Pretty amazing these guys were 15 /16 years old at the time!
If you think of a metric: 'talent per years of life' - Silverchair are by FAR the most talented band ever.
To this day, Frogstomp is one of the best alternative albums ever released, period.
62 and still loves these talented musicians
Silverchair always takes me back to my early teens!
Tremenda Banda!!!
damn! the best! silverchair. i remembered that i bought a cassette tape back in 94 or 95.

@@MrStobie8 thank you sir was about to
Standing the test of time is the hallmark of great music. They did that.
This was popular in the states way before 2K like the copyright says....I still love Silverchair....they weren't another replication of Nirvana produced by the industry...they were who they were....just kids emulating their influences (check the offspring tee in the video)....they weren't polishing knobs like Vedder and Cornell jumping on the grunge bandwagon...and they haven't become a joke like other groups of the same era because of that.
sheer brilliance! Silverchair is one of the best bands ever.
