Lyrics:
It's twelve o'clock, and it's a wonderful day.
I know you hate me, but I'll ask anyway.
Won't you come with me to a place in a little town?
The only way to get there's to go straight down.
There's no bathroom, and there is no sink.
The water out of the tap is very hard to drink,
Very hard to drink.
You wait 'til tomorrow
You wait 'til tomorrow
You say that money isn't everything,
But I'd like to see you live without it.
You think you can keep on going living like a king.
Ooh, babe, but I strongly doubt it.
Very hard to drink.
Very hard to drink.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.
You wait 'til tomorrow.
You wait 'til tomorrow.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.

Keep in mind *they were 15 years old* when they recorded this song. 15 years old. And it's still a great fucking song. It's still held-up after 27 years and counting now.
Exactly. 15. When I was 15 and I had private vocal coaching from 5th grade until graduation and worked at Wendy's.

The maturity in Daniel Johns' voice at that age was so beyond his young years, it's mind-boggling how good he was/is.
*was* he's the definition of peaking way way way too early on your career. even compared to later silverchair albums (i don't dig his solo projects) the "maturity" as you said, and the techniche he had in his voice on Frogstomp is unmatched. unbelievable how young he was..

Kimbra was amazing even at 12.
that is until they aged
This album takes me back 25 years to the happiest time in my life. I just didn't know it then.
Seems that is the curse and real message behind life.
I had no idea these musicians weren't even old enough to get a drivers license when they recorded this. Makes it all the more remarkable.
This is so good but you must hear "The Wave" or "Whispering Wolf" by SLT 🤘🎧🐺
For there age they really had extraordinary talent.Even today I have yet to see a band/group come out who even come close.
Yep
They were old enough at that time to get a learners license in Australia 😊
They were still in school, they had to get tutored😅🎉🎉❤
One of the most underrated bands of the 90s ever.

I’ve been a huge Silverchair fan since their inception. This track is still one of my favorite songs ever. The whole Frogstomp album is still one of my favorite albums ever. And I still listen it it to this day.
That is how I feel about Pearl Jam as well.
Same here Nick, well, since I discovered them in ‘96 when I was 16. I agree, Frogstomp is an iconic and epic mid-90s album that is excellent front to back. I was just obsessed with this album, my CD was so fucking scratched!
One of the best albums in rock of that decade for sure. We had Nirvana, Soundgarden, pearl jam, Alice in chains, silverchair, live, and many more to list
Frogstomp is the album of our generation. Long live true alternative music. Cheers
Listening to it now!
Legendary 15 year olds. Can definitely hear the pearl jam influence in them
i would love to do smth like what they did, i love grunge and pearl jam, soundgarden and silverchair are my fav bans ngl. id die to go back to when grunge was at its peak.
Agreed! There's far more Peal Jam influence than Nirvana, which is opposite of what most people thought when they first dropped. Such a rad band.
I've been listening to this song for a couple of days to see if I can catch the Pearl Jam in it.
I think the way the lyrics are structured feels very close to how Eddie Vedder writes his songs. But sound wise, to me, the way they execute feels more like Nirvana + Blind Melon.
The Nirvana comes in the chorus with how hard they go with the yelling, guitar distortion and drums. Way to hard for Pearl Jam.
In the verses there's a lightness that you can only get from a band from California, like Blind Melon... or one from Australia...
The first time I heard this song on the radio I thought that it was Pearl Jam
@@garayworkshop74 how do u pick up blind melon in this song..

I played in a couple of bands around that age, and these guys were really special. While he still hadn't grown into his voice yet when Frogstomp came out, these guys were light years ahead of where I was at this point. One of the most underrated bands ever imo These guys were 15 when they made Frogstomp and it rocks from start to finish. Daniel Johns is a great vocalist from that time and the songs were good. Not bad for three fifteen year olds they recorded their debut album Frogstomp on their Christmas break from high school!!! 🤘🏻🙃🤘🏻

The 90s were the best time, in human history, to be a teen.
Indeed, and the 30s in Germany as well.
perfect mix of technology and analogue
The 90's were the best time in the history of the universe. Straight up!
Verdade
But at the same time, one of the darkest to become a trap. With near 20 musical artists to die too young. Also having friends becoming too nostalgic of that time to develop a depression state. I had fun during the 90's at the beginning, but with all the drugs and the party, after some years, it was not so funny.
i can't figure out how a 14 year old could have such a fucking awesome voice
+Daniel Hochpöchler 16 years old** haha
+MEast he was 16 when the music video came out, i think they wrote the song earlier
+Daniel Hochpöchler At college I had a professor from Australia, and one time in a presentation about Australian bands I talked about Silverchair, and the guy told us that his daughter used to be the maths teacher of the guys from the band, and Daniel spent some maths classes writing song lyrics and stuff but no-one thought it would be anything serious. He even told us about the first gig of the band and what the boys were like. He got pretty nostalgic... :)
