Arguably, the most powerful scene vs all other scenes in the LOST journey. It's triumphantly felt and masterfully acted by MF and EL. Great musical score too. Timeless!!!
Yeah...and every time, even while rewatching it, I catch my almost believing that Charlie is dead. That's how convincing the scene is. Kate's crying sells it.
I remember when I first saw this... it was like the most depressing thing in the whole world, 'cause Charlie and Kate were my favorite characters. Plus, it was kind of misleading because at 3:01, with that far-off shot, you sort of thought the scene was gonna end there and then Charlie was dead for good but then you're like oh... never mind, and then suddenly it was like the BEST TV MOMENT EVER!!!! Lol
I remember watching this episode when it aired. When Charlie started, I threw my right fist into the air. I was so thrilled and relieved Jack was able to bring him back. Kate's crying and pacing were almost too much to handle.
I've just started re-watching Lost (thanks lockdown!) and I remember the first time I watched this scene on tv, I was in total shock. At this point, Charlie was my favourite and I couldn't believe what I was watching. The feeling of complete and utter RELIEF that followed hasn't been matched since.
This scene was the first time i ever cried while watching a series or movie. No Titanic didn't make me cry, no the fault in our stars didn't make me cry and also Romeo and Juliet didn't make me cry. But this scene got it
I agree. The S1 Kate was a great independent female character. S2-5 she's suddenly become the damsel in distress, the typical hostage person, and actually a rather annoying presence on screen. Does he love her? Does she love him? But what about him? *sighs* Bring back old Kate!
It`s a good Thing that Jack kept hitting him,,, otherwise Charlie would be..... Dead. CHARLIE ITS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!!!! AND I HATE ETHAN!!!! Charlie is AWESOME!!!!!
Well technically it only showed him as highly proficient at martial arts and hunting skills, which most of the others were. They were all able to live in the forest at any time.

I found this really weird after watching the first few seasons... Like Ethan is a surgeon who looks a bit old and not that fit and comes from a fairly sophisticated community on the island but somehow he was dragging a grown man and pregnant woman for miles and also had time to *very gruesomely* hang someone??? They must have changed the others or him a lot after that first season because it really didn't fit how a middle aged doctor did that 🤷♂️

THe scene was taking awhile and I remember thinking "his dead I don't want to watch the tv show anymore..." I was going to to turn the tv when CHarlie start breathing again. I felt my heart skipped a beat. God I love this tv show and this episode has become my faviourt out all the episodes and seaosns.

My theory is that Ethan had help from the Others. They were present in S2E15. It wasn't until Claire escaped him that they abandoned Ethan believing he had failed them. But that's just me.
Evangeline Lilly played hell outta Kate, you could see how tramatizing this is for her, telling Jack to stop...It's shame that later on in series she was in the middle of love triangle
It’s sad how this show disappeared. I think friends is older than this show and even that is coming back. Though friends deserves to come back, so does lost. It gave me the feels when I watched it 😔 Rip Charlie You were my fav I wish you didn’t have to die, even if you saved everyone
Serious/drama shows aren't very rewatchable imo Like I think Breaking Bad is the greatest show I've ever seen in my life, but if I watch it within a few months of finishing it, it kinda gets stale. But friends, the office, scrubs etc. I can rewatch like 10x in a row without getting bored

I love the way season 1 made out Ethan to be this super-strong jungle man when in reality he was just a guy from the others.
