Definitely Claire's reaction was so sad. She sees everyone else excited when the groups meet up, and she is trying to pick up Charlie, and when she doesnt't , she knew.
Sayid was under appreciated in lost . He was smarter than basically everyone . He could read everyone so easily . He knew Michael was leading them into a trap in season 2 when being taken to the others . He knew Ben was an other . He even had the balls to lie to the man in black in season 6 and say he killed desmond when he didn’t . And let’s not forget he died trying to save everyone . Had a huge heart and cared about everyone
@@About36Greekss For the first 4 seasons i honest thought that he was one of the best characters on a tv show ever in my opinion but in seasons 5 and 6 he just felt pointless but then after he sacrifices himself fort the group and lies to the smoke monster i began liking him again
It broke my heart when Claire was looking around the crowd, waiting to find someone she would never see again. And the look of dread on her face when Hurley walks up to her is just as terrible
"That moment I realize I've shed more tears for fictional characters than real people...... "} How about that moment you realize how pathetic that sounds.
In a way, Charlie's death was the beginning of a new direction in Lost. After this episode the characters split up in small teams and we never saw them again cooperating and facing the dangers all together.
Sawyer is such a good actor. Hes this really hard ass character in the beginning of the series, but he really fight for hes friends now and you can clearly see it in hes face, that he is deeply hurt that Charlie is dead.
Charlie's list, his death and bones made me cry.... #5 The first time I heard myself on the radio #4 Dad teaching me to swim at Butlins #3 The christmas Liam gave me the ring #2 Woman outside Covent Gardens calls me a hero #1 The night I met you
The absolute WORST part though, is when Hurley says it. I feel like up until that point, I had still been hoping for a miracle, but then hearing someone actually say that Charlie was dead out loud, it sort of made me realise that he wasn't coming back. 😔
This scene broke my heart. I bawled my eyes out at Charlie's death. He was my favorite character. Him and Claire were my favorite couple and him and Hurley were my favorite friendship. You can tell how much Charlie's death affected everyone by the way they look and the mood at the camp. Saddest and most unnecessary death on Lost.
The part that they touched me is how broke Hurley was and Charlie and Desmond never got along that well but Charlie was the one who told Desmond Penny wasn’t on the boat (I’ve watched all Seasons and all episodes)
THIS is how you handle the death of a season 1 character. Stories like these have characters going though the most meaningful events of their lives together. Losing someone that important SHOULD have a huge impact.
A part of me died inside when Charlie died. I absolutely, wholeheartedly loved his character...Lost is such a fucking unbelievable show!!! I miss it so much :(
Thanks for posting this video all those years ago. Every now and then when I’m feeling down in the dumps and need to have a good cathartic cry, I come back and watch this.
Just want to give a shoutout to Hurley. He was always MVP. Just so happy that the Island is prospering under his leadership. I nominate him to lead the world. We need him more than ever.
I don't know why I do this to myself. I watched through the looking glass part 2, cried like a freaking baby, and here I am....watching Claire and Hurley finding out that their best friend died. UGH. this kills me
Charlie was one of my most favorite characters on the show. When he died I almost stopped watching the series. But unfortunately I kept watching for the simple fact that I was in too deep into the series to stop now.
I loved Charlie and his death was one of the few times I cried. He wasn't my all time #1 favorite character, but he's definitely high on the list. I liked so many of the characters it's hard to choose one.
Rewatching the series. In the pilot episode, when they find the front of the plane and are looking for the transceiver, Jack asks Kate, "Where's Charlie?" This series is phenomenal.
@@Tiffany-bd1eb Maybe but his reasoning was that ''I want my character to exit on a high note'' as if he wasn't satisfied with his direction or something
Charlie was the most relatable character of the show for me. Really hurt when he sacrificed himself to get that information. But I love how they handle it - showing how everyone was affected and hurt by his passing.
He locked himself because of Desmond's flash, that if he died there, Claire and Aaron would be rescued in a helicopter. I guess he just saw Aaron but not Kate in the helicopter, so he assumed it was Claire.
+alex the bean yeah but he already know that he was meant to die sooner or later, i guess that he was tired of living with fear and wanted to save claire
+Kalgaba The actor that portrayed Charlie wanted his character to die and not have to play him in the show anymore because Kate broke up with him irl. He didn't want to work on the show with her anymore.
Sometimes I feel like acting would be really challenging, displaying such strong emotions on command. But then I see a scene like this, and I know it couldn't be that hard to pull off, because their facial expressions during this part matched exactly how I felt watching it. A lot of tough losses on this show, but Charlie... That one hit me the hardest. I'll see you in another life brother.
Gee, that's such a bittersweet moment. Everybody else is happy at being reunited with each other, yet Claire's man is gone. The look on Hurley's face when he tells Claire about Charlie is heartbreaking.
Man. I think Charlie was one of the first tv characters that actually made me really sad and on the verge of tears. His whole character arc was just really well done imo. Getting through his heroin addiction, something I myself struggle with to this day, and then not only just redeeming himself, but actually sacrificing himself in an attempt to save everyone else who he grew to care deeply about on the island. Shit just fuckin broke my heart.
I still can't figure out which reaction hits me the hardest. Okay Hurley is obvious but Sawyer and Saied really pulled it off. 'ya I'm a badass but I can still get gut punched' resonates with me a lot because I keep my emotions under control but Charlie dying really put it to the test for those two.
i don't think i've ever cried so hard or cried at so many times for any other character.. charlie was my favorite television character ever. when he died i nearly stopped watching the show. this scene gets me every time.... BUT APPARANTLY HE'S COMING BACK!!!!!!! so i've heard. maybe.

Sayid's reaction looks most sincere to me.
I know what you mean, I always loved his reaction too, over all of theirs
Sayid was the underrated member of that group. He got them out of trouble so many times.

That moment I realize I've shed more tears for fictional characters than real people......
Real people aren't cool. Fictional characters are loveable and idolistic
Real people let you down.
because the fictional characters remind us to be good and care about people around us every day. And ya every time I see this scene I cry like a baby.

I have to believe Desmond would've been infinitely more delicate in breaking that news.
Rewatching the series. In the pilot episode, when they find the front of the plane and are looking for the transceiver, Jack asks Kate, "Where's Charlie?" This series is phenomenal.
Throughout the first season it painted Charlie as a main character that would stay till the end but he was killed of to show no one was safe
The actor wanted off the show not sure why
He dated Evangeline Lilly (actress who played Kate) and they ended on bad terms so I wonder if that had something to do with it.
