  • A brief rundown of the historical milestones associated with the Fleu de Lis symbol. Made because I see this design utilized with absurd regularity and I was curious why.

Nice research. You got yourself quite a long way.
I would like to share my research on this.
The symbol is quite literally "the sign of the kings". You will find it synonomous with all modern royalty around the world.
France is by no means the origin. I found the symbol prevalent amongst the decorations of the homes and palaces of the Ceasars of Rome, during a recent excavation of Cassius Forum.
The symbol goes back much further than that though, but the modern Fleur De Lis is quite embelished.
The original symbol was quite simple, a cross, like a multiplication symbol, with a line going straight down through the center.
It appears in the first known civilisation called The Sumerians, in what is today southern Iraq.
Over the millenia, it has been more and more embelished until we see the modern fleur de lis appearing.
The Sumerians made a lot of artwork in clay, which has been unearthed in only the last century. A lot of it is quite available to view on the internet.
In this context, the simpler symbol refers to "the kings that descended from the heavens."
But actually, the more you look into it, and what is behind the symbol, the more disturbing it becomes, especially in the modern context of relationships with Monarchy and Religion.

Regarding the theory of the Lis actually being an Iris. In Dutch, the language most closely related to old Frankish (the Germanic language the French nobility would've spoken), the iris is in fact called a LIS. However the origins of this word are a bit muddy... Maybe even literally, may literally mean 'plant growing in the mud'.
And another issue with this is that the supposed French cognate is laîche, which has another meaning so...
    Who knows...

In the Hungarian tradition, in our ancient writing, liliom is the reading of two syllables from top to bottom. The reading means god (in Hungarian: IS-TEN). The upper, larger part of the symbol containing two lilies represents the parent god, the lower, smaller lily represents the child god. It was put on a compass so that we remember that God shows the true direction. The king's scepter and crown were placed in order to remember that the king's power comes from God.

Going back in history a bit more, see the video: "Curse behind the fleur de lis": (a symbol of the winged snake god, the nachash, the angel of light, the serpent, the shinning one, the feathered snake god). It is an idol god symbol from ancient Egypt and Babylon. ... Also read article from: the San Francisco Call( the morning call), newspaper, article titled: " ship loads of Africans for the new Orleans market", dated: Friday, 3/27/1891, pg 5, image 5. It talks about how the fleur de lis was a branding tool for slaves: 1st offense, one shoulder, 2nd offense, 2nd shoulder, etc. The true meaning of it was covered up to make it more accepted, but it is an idol god symbol of Satanism.

As the video illustrates it predates the french. The name is French currently though.

Wrong, it was picked up by the French, but it dates back all the way to Egyptian times and is even depicted in ancient hyroglyphs

Any symbol that was used to BRAND a person will never be worth anything good. It's like the rebel flag! How could anyone of good conscious celebrate symbol that was used to brand a slave?

I notice even the sikh symbol looks similar to it.... considering the swastika was used by indo-europeans I’m not surpised if a fleur de lis was used as well
