Nice research. You got yourself quite a long way. I would like to share my research on this. The symbol is quite literally "the sign of the kings". You will find it synonomous with all modern royalty around the world. France is by no means the origin. I found the symbol prevalent amongst the decorations of the homes and palaces of the Ceasars of Rome, during a recent excavation of Cassius Forum. The symbol goes back much further than that though, but the modern Fleur De Lis is quite embelished. The original symbol was quite simple, a cross, like a multiplication symbol, with a line going straight down through the center. It appears in the first known civilisation called The Sumerians, in what is today southern Iraq. Over the millenia, it has been more and more embelished until we see the modern fleur de lis appearing. The Sumerians made a lot of artwork in clay, which has been unearthed in only the last century. A lot of it is quite available to view on the internet. In this context, the simpler symbol refers to "the kings that descended from the heavens." But actually, the more you look into it, and what is behind the symbol, the more disturbing it becomes, especially in the modern context of relationships with Monarchy and Religion.
The fleur de lis has long been my most favorite decorating motif. I have things with the emblem in every room of my house, on my clothes and jewelry, etc. I always knew it as the French coat of arms based on a flower, but had no idea the history was so much deeper and more interesting. Awesome vid!
