- Vinyl tint is a quick mod that comes in many colors and can transform the look of your car. This can also be done to headlights and fog lights, as shown on my VW mk6 Jetta GLI.

What coler did you go with on the rear was in black or smoke
Dark black
How did you do with the littler step that the TAILLIGHTs has it? I Wrapped like you mines and it was to difficult that the step wrapped well! I ended up removing the wrap!
Takes time and practice. Try it again I’m sure you’ll get it. Just take your time
Could I use a hair dryer as an alternative heat source?
Also, could I use an old id card as a way to press the vynil down?
Yes and yes. Blow dryer works but not nearly as well as a heat gun. You can use it but you’ll be better off with a heat gun. You can definitely use any plastic card as a squeegee. I recommend putting some type of cloth over it so you don’t scratch the vinyl

No problems. I’m pretty sure it’s okay in az as long as your taillights are visible from 500ft. Don’t quote me on that though haha
what did you use to black out the space between the reflectors?

I've got a '14 Black Jetta SE and plan to change the front/Back lights to a darker lens. I thought about using tint but, I started thinking long term and what they would look like over time with chips and fading.
I've had them vinyl wrapped for almost 2 years. They look the same as the day that I wrapped them.

They go out of stock quick. You can find on ECS tuning and eBay
Do you have to take the headlights or taillights out or you can still do this with them on
You can do it with them on also. I took them off so I could get a better finish around the edges.

I really like the looks but isn’t it illegal at a certain percentage %? I just bought the smoked tint and it seem pretty dark. Now I kinda don’t want to risk it.
I haven’t had issues with it. Where I live if the taillights are visible from 500 feet then it’s ok. If I get pulled over for it I’ll just peel it off in front of the cop 🤷🏻♂️😂

Honestly depends where you live. I’ve had them on for 2years with no issues. I’m assuming as long as your lights are bright enough that you’ll have no issue. My tail lights are LED so they’re brighter than standard bulbs.
Hey I was thinking about getting a light smoke tint for my tail lights. The shop said they would do it for $80 including install, is that over priced?
Honestly it depends on your area. If you don’t feel like doing it yourself, shop around. If that’s the best price and quality then go for it.

2015 was a strange year for GLI's. It was their transitional period. Im glad i have the pre-facelift front with post-facelift rear. Thats actually why i bought in 2015.

I have OE LED taillights. They’re super bright even during the day. If you have those you’ll be fine.

It’s a reversible mod. 5mi s and it’s back to normal
I got my tint and kit to tint my taillights you didn't have to spray water on taillights or nothing?

I haven’t had any problems with them. I think it’s because I took the taillights off so the vinyl was able to wrap around the edges

It shouldn’t . Most warranties don’t cover aesthetics.
How much are the aftermarket spoilers and where to buy ?

What percent is the tint
Honestly not sure. I’d guess less than 20%. If you have LED taillights it’s still bright. If you do t I would recommend the lighter version. I put both in the description

Such an easy car to work on. Removing the tail lights off my a3 was a pain in the ass.
Really? When I had a B7 A4 it was just as easy.
How long did it take
I believe around 30-45 minutes. Probably would have been 20mins if I wasn’t simultaneously making a video

Clean GLI, I tried it on my mk6 and after 6 months lights looked faded so I took it off and it was a b!atch to take it off.

Tip would be... take your time. Also l, the film is cheap enough that it doesn’t have to be perfect the first time.

Honestly it’s cheap enough that you can fail a few times without it breaking the bank. I used the vinyl dry. Never tried otherwise.

Yes, but my taillights are LED. I am not sure if halogen taillights are visible.

I’m sure your taillights aren’t simple. However, mine are not as easy as they look. The next time you see a refreshed Jetta, feel the tail light. It has an obscene amount of intricate bends, bumps, and dips. Trust me when I say it was not easy.

Depends on your state laws. I live in Arizona and have had my tail lights tinted for almost 2 years. I have never been stopped and have never received a ticket for having them.

You didn't have to remove the lights
I know but I didn’t because 2015+ jettas have a lot of curves and bumps that make them more difficult to wrap

If it’s easy enough to remove then sure, great. I had been told it wasn’t removable previously.

It doesn’t look like it but there are a ton of tiny curves that made it very difficult to install.

Hey Juan, I found a smoke version of this tint (amzn.to/2OshROu). The comments say that its 35% tint compared to the 20% tint that I installed on my car.

And you’re right, it’s not necessary. I did it because it was easy to do and allowed me to wrap around all edges for a cleaner appearance.
