You mentioned debris pickup from bad paint. If your lens is fading or crusty, the film will stick to the failing surface and not the lens. Was a crazy, but expected surprise on my wife's WRX. Keep up the good work!
@@shometinthow did it go ? Is it holding up good? A lot of folks seriously recommended to not buy headlight tints from temu special based off the price because it’s bad quality and your headlights will cause mini acne looking bubble from the heat caused by the headlights being hot
@@ElevationRequiresSeperation1 I can confirm your suspicion on the quality of the film from temu. I bought a roll of yellow headlight tint and it easily bubbles with moderate heat.
@Eli_89321 off of the vehicle you will generally have more control of the application and would have no risk of accidentally cutting into your vehicles paint when trimming it out.
Sometimes we remove it and have it auto flexed but if the surface is flat and smooth we are able to wrap it. Please be careful when trimming those pieces out because customers hate it when you cut the car. 😉
@@shometint Well, I have done one tail light so far. I would give it a B+. However, I destroyed the first sheet of material trying. The problem is my tail light is an extremely challenging shape I now realize. Its curved the entire way, and is long all the way to a sharp point. The material wants to bunch up. Imagine a very elongated teardrop, cut in half. Its not the point part is hard. Its the spherical section. But, not impossible. I will post a final photo somewhere and link it. Thanks again.
@@shometint Damn I just watched the video again and realize I didn't follow how you did it exactly. I'm going to correct and try it on the second. You start in the middle of the light, and I started on an edge. Let's see how number 2 goes more closely following you. Thanks.
I do like the headlight tint but mine are to dark. Let’s say mine are 5-35%. I want something light such as 50% or above allowing more light through but I can’t find headlight tint with the levels of light numbers that it’s allowing through so I would appreciate it if someone knows where to get this tint. Headlight tint is stretchable so it’s different than window tint.
Hello. Can you advise me please! The video shows the guy using no water on the headlight before applying the vinyl tint. I some people spray water on the headlight before attaching the vinyl? How do I know which method to use? Thanks:)@
Trying to tint my headlights. Should I spray the tint and or headlight with soapy water? Would a hair dryer be suffient enough if I'm scared a heat gun will damage my car?
You can do it wet, but doing it dry would be the way we would recommend it be installed. A heat gun is what we would recommend. The film is supposed to be post heated to 200° and a hair dryer won't get it that hot. You could remove your headlights prior to installation if you're afraid of your paint getting too hot.
Both are made for their specific applications. You would not get the desired results if you were to switch the roles of the material. One is meant for inside, away from the elements. The other is designed for outdoor use and has more flexible properties to curve around newer more challenging angles some new lights have. Window tint would not survive such severe turns/curves that the headlights have.
I have a bike though, lots of sharp edges on the front headlights and the rear one is quite literally a 3D shape so it has 90° angles... even with a heat gun it's so hard
Depending on what shade of film you go with, it can allow up to 98% of the light to pass through. Specifics can be found at the manufacturer's website.
