Hey Luke, as I think I mentioned to you, I bought the 8 man version of this tent. With the large version you have 2 doors opposite each other with the capability of unzipping the doors and setting them up as awnings. (with the addition of a couple of poles, not included) Otherwise everything is about the same with the exception of almost a 9' ceiling height. This thing is huge. I also bought the matching ground sheet as it was on sale. I'm on vacation in a couple of weeks and am going to put it to the test. Will take photos and let you know of the results! It's finally cool enough here in Ohio to camp without the bugs. Strength and Honor my friend now go have some coffee!
hi luke!! i am one of the big fans of DOD gear from Hong Kong, i have been using this tent for ~2years, got experience in using it under storm, absolutely waterproof, so spacious, and recently i have bought the pole table as well, it was a perfect match with the tent as I can play board game with my girlfriend inside the tent, you should definitely try it!
@@Brad-99 yo buddy I think it depends on the climate and weather, if it is kind of cool or cold, it would be perfect. But if it is hot, and especially without wind, poor ventilation may be the case though there are windows at the top.
At last a tent with a high ceiling height - im 6ft 2in. and most tents have a 60" or less ceiling height and thats hard on my back - thank u for ur videos their great Strength and Honor Mr Luke SALUTE
Just finished an overnight solo camping with this tent. It is super spacious, I can put a twin size cot, a mini table, my camping chair (the sugoi chair, also a dod product, the best camping chair I have ever sat on!!), and there's still more room for maybe another camping cot, or a large size cooler box, etc. Tmeprature that day was about 60F, and there was a little rain and strong wind the whole night. I slept comfortably inside the tent, not feeling cold, and no any leaking. The biggest problem I have with this tent is that it actually "gathers" too many bugs in between the inner tent and the flysheet, which makes packing it (in rain) very disgusting lol. I may need to look for a better bugs repellent spray or other treatments to make it bug free. Overall I really love this tent, and am looking forward to do more overnight campings with it before winter comes. Btw I would love to see your test on some more extreme weather to see it's performance! Nice video!
I'm sure it will pass the rain test, I have trust in this Japanese brand. I would love to see a set up video as I have never tried a tipi tent before. Thank you for the video.
I LIKE the Japanese equipment I have seen demonstrated on channels like Yo Yo Camp and AYA Camp. They are car camping channels. Some of the campsites they use have platforms designed to allow a spring-type stake to twist into the space between slats. I like to use stretchy cords on tent tie-outs to take some of the wind load as needed.
that support cup is so that you can use it into the bottom of a bucket of sand or rocks _or water_ the stake adjustment is done with sticks put through the cord and twisted yurt skillz
Being a native American/Canadian I love tipis and do camp in them !!! I do know what DoD means....it's Doppelganger out Doors....and they make good products
Excited to see this! Looking at this tent and the NatureHike Ranch 4. I'm 6'5" and having the room to stand and stretch out without my head/feet touching is appealing. Thanks, Luke!
I am glad to see another tipi style of tent coming out on the market. Luke, please if you can, review and waterproof test the OneTigris Tipi Nova tent. The tent weighs 2.6 pounds, which is suitable for backpacking. You have to provide your own center pole to set it up. Unfortunately, it is no longer available on OneTigris' website. Many thanks for the videos!
My absolute favorite tent is a tipi-style tent - this is interesting but a little on the heavy side. Looks to be made well - can't wait for test night!!!!!!
Seems most every tipi tent I’ve seen you and a few others test (often the same tents, there aren’t a huge variety in backpacking weights) have been great until it starts raining, where despite their shape, they fail miserably. Poor cut, poor guy systems, stretchy fabric and they suffer extreme sag, costing precious interior space, no longer shedding water effectively and resulting in a sodden heap. So really looking forward to the rain test. Looks like a good one; hopefully it has the right stuff!
I like it. It's a bit big but just for an overnight hike I can see it happening. Weights a little heavy but you did say it was related to car camping. Can't wait to see if it leaks. I have a smaller version that's a one man. Less than a pound. It works very well
This looks to be a great tent, for 270, good pricing, Luke, pls show us how it holds up in the rain! I love tipi’s, I have a tentipi, it is a wonderful experience.
I'm all about car camping. Seems like a righteous piece of gear. As to the question- I'm going with "Division of Design." Not sure how the rabbit logo fits in. First thing that comes to mind is the similarity to the Playboy bunny- both sport a tie, yes? And what better place to exercise your natural inclinations in a outdoorsy tent?
Wow! Now that I'm 63 years old and have some physical issues with flexibility, I think this tent would be a perfect fit for me, just walk into the tent versus kneeling down and crawling into it!
Luke, looks like a great tent! Standing by for your full product review once it's been tested in the rain. Been considering a tipi style tent for quite some time for car camping but haven't pulled the trigger yet. This just might be what I've been waiting for.
VERY interesting....this will be an instant buy for me if it passes waterproofing and ventilation/condensation. Also as I type this there is an eBay listing with free shipping for $207.
My tipi tent is white, has a half mesh inner (full mesh inner also available), a separate floor and the 7 foot pole and stakes. It also has a light blocking layer on the inside and a stove jack. $250
Hey, Luke! Another informative video. I hadn't even thought of a tipi style tent (as most of them on the market are "hot" tents for winter) for year-round camping. In future reviews, if you would please, I would like to know the individual component weights. It would be fantastic for me and my dog Thalia, using the fly and a lighter pole. She is the enemy of bug nets. Probably because we have one of those magnetic door bug screens and she thinks she can just run right through them. LOL
Company is based in Japan, where they informed me designs are made. They outsource like everyone else. Haven’t opened tent fully yet but bag is labeled made in China so not necessarily Japanese quality.
Waiting for the waterproof test…thinking I would like this in my gear room. Can get the large version for less than the tax on that new LightFighter tent mahal.
Ventilation during a rain event concerns me. The door has no protection if open from rain passing thru. But looks great easy setup simple can carry in truck sub pole for aluminum one
Im 6'6 and I pulled the trigger on one for some casual camping. Should be a little more roomier and better quality than my Ozark trail done tent for just 50 dollars more. I'm trying out some different things to find what best suits me. I will try to remember to give you all some updates on the tent.
do you know of a good 1 person tent that will stay warm in a new egland winter but will also not sweat in summer, I'm looking for a new tent for boyscouts, so I would prefer something that's not heavy. any ideas are welcome, thanks love the vids.
Hi Luke :) I have bit of a offtopic question: I might have missed a video, but what were your thoughts on Savottas Jääkäri XL backpack compared to Särmä TST RP90?

Did it leak in the rain? Thanks 😄
The Japanese take car camping to an whole new level as shown on some of their channels.
Doppelgänger out door.. great brand, they make some really innovative camping equipment.
Everyone seems to have doppelgangers. I've got 2 in my hometown and they do look exactly like me according to my sister.

I would like to know if this can be used in shoulder season in BC
Thx .

Man ! This lady hit nail on the head. Thank God someone is trying to open the eyes of the people.
I stayed in an actual teepee once. That was fun. It's kind of fun to have an open fire inside your tent, especially during cold weather!

Definitely looking forward to a future rain test of this tent 🏕
I love tipi tents. I bought the Tentipi Safir 9, that tent will last me the rest of my life.. 1class quality
I see more Japanese gear on this channel than I do in the stores here in Japan😂. Congrats to you and Susie on the half a million subs too!

It's gotten to where I tune in for the music selection more than the gear reviews anymore. Well done guys!

This tent has to be tested in the rain with u in it. I absolutely love it!
You need to make more videos on 4-season hot tents.
I love the look of the tent and the price is amazing and the colour is great. Can't wait for the next video on this .
👏 Congrats Luke and Co.on your 500000. Subscribers !!

Good looking tent.
Probably not related at all but in the 80s, a guitar pedal manufacturing was also called Dod and it was from Donny Osmond Design!!!
My absolute favorite tent is a tipi-style tent - this is interesting but a little on the heavy side. Looks to be made well - can't wait for test night!!!!!!

I hope it has a stove jack and you have a lightweight mini woodstove for use inside your tent.
I like this tent from what you've shown.
The design does make sense...

Luke, my friend. Ichi…. Sounds a little like itchy but the I in Japanese sounds like an e. EE-CHEE… love your videos.
Looks like a nicely constructed nice looking functional tent at a great price.
DOD delightful out doors

Gr8 tent! ❤️ thank you from France. 👍💪
I love DoD products and I think I know what it means Dopleganger out Doors or something like that, they are a bit pricey but their stuff is well made.
Thanks Luke; I think a stove jack would be cool.
Love the black, very cool
Please do try DoD Firebase Tent/Shelter. My favourite tent so far... 😊
Looks great. Look forward to the waterproof test.
Love the tent so far. Love your channel as well. Always great content
Would look even better in a digital black camo!
Love the color 😍

It is a beauty, isn't it? I'm young, but have claustrophobia, so standing-height tents are naturally my preference, too.
You can get a bar to connect two trekking poles and I bet that would work really well to replace the center pole.
As far as savining weight on the pole, what about foregoing the pole and tie it vertically from some overhead support?
looks awesome for the price
The center support pole when not being used can dbl as a closet rod

Hi, is this tent suitable for winter camping? On their site i noticed the background was some snow…
Here in Australia , Black would be an oven !!!
I like it, looks awesome!
Thanks for all your great videos. I was wondering if you could review the Robens Green Cone PRS tent?
Love the tent , hope it passes the water proof test , Nice looking tent , love the size and the cost.

I'm dying to know if this tent is waterproof!
Hopefully it does well, looks great, I can see myself and 5 cute Japanese ladies in the tent 🤣

Smart Japanese!
Hello, i saw a preview video of the micro tent but is there any review video on it ?
Cool.. 👍 Looks very interesting.. Wish the pole was "lightweight" ish'..
Luke I watch on the review of this DoD outdoors lchi one pole Tent I thought look very huge inside Question I have is it water proof
Try the river country 4 person. It's $110 with trekking poles and half the weight of this.
Wish it had skirts for better winter use.
ah damn... no cut out for wood stove.!!
Thank you for the content. Love the song!! Who was that because now it's driving me nuts that I can't figure out the song!!? Thank you for all you do
It looks green.
Maybe they figure with the fly the inner tent is not going to get wet and thereby sag, so no need for adjustments on the stake out cords?
I agree. The inner tent cords only pull out a bit of mesh. Not an important job.
