If and when OneTigris adds more guyline time-outs, and adds flap options to the rear airflow and doors, I’m going to snatch one up. Please get this done OneTigris. You’re so close to perfection here!
I love this guys reviews and the fact that he is absolutely committed in not having any sponsorships. I actually got UA-cam premium so I can watch his channels with no ads, so relaxing .
I was on the fence about the larger one. Watched all your videos regarding this particular tent and I’m happy to say I pulled the plug today and ordered it. Great reviews, testing and recommendations Luke! 😎
Really like how you're not one-sided judgemental on your reviews, meaning you look for the good in the bad. Yes, there are some that the bad is just that, but you say it in a classy way. Thank you for not being political and all things that can start a debate. You fully talk about gear and features good and bad, safety in all aspects, food, ect. Everything one would want to know before going on an outing. I am starting out as a novice again after 27 years of no camping, hiking, ect. Life got in the way. Your videos are so helpful. Keep up the awesome work. Aloha from Hawaii 🤙
Luke, i love your one tigris reviews and whats even better that one tigris actually listens to the feedback and improves on that. That's just a super nice cycle more companies should do!
Keep up these great "PRO's & Con's" on GEAR.. loving your honest reviews !! you don't sugar coat any of your experiences. Much respect to you, for all your work May the force b with U , LUKE .
I've just bought the 160. It ticks all the boxes. I have a tent for stormy weather. Can't wait to start using it. Thanks for the non biased review Luke. Really helped me make up my mind.
If they take your recommendations and fix those small issues I 100% would buy one. Thanks Luke always for your reviews and your pure honesty the outdoor family here appreciate it.
Some 3m velcro along the vent will take care of being able to close it and 1 drop of gorilla glue on the tent stake cords will keep them in place. Easy fixes, great review. Love your vids..
Thank you Luke!!! I fully trust your reviews. I am wanting to start going camping and I look forward to your reviews as I am 66 and would not know what to buy if it wasn't for you
Hi Luke, I'm a big fan of your channel and as an outdoor guy, your reviews and findings are invaluable to me so as not to buy crap products... I had never heard of Onetigris, but thanks to your reviews I've got the Tetra smaller version and the Coyote chair and they are both brilliant.... I find you're videos informative, unbiased, very well presented.. As a former professional wire service photographer, and having worked in television and done a few, not very good videos of my own, I know how hard it it to come across so naturally.. so bravo.
Hello Luke just like to say I will be making an upgrade from my ozark tent to the tetra one Tigris tent I believe it’s the 160. Thank you for all you do. Thanks again for your awesome content and adventures.
Thank you for the excellent review on these, Luke. Onetigris is a company I really like but don't fully trust. They put out a lot of good stuff at a great price but you've proven that you have to be careful what you buy from them. There was another youtuber that did a lot of reviews for them and he never mentioned any of the issues that you do in your various reviews. I no longer watch his channel. I do have two Onetigris camp chairs and they turn heads everywhere I take them. Some of my friends are in the 300 club and I can confirm they stand up to their weight rating. Anyways, I'll be watching the Tetra tents to see if they add the rear guyline points. I think that would get me to buy a large version.
I purchased the bigger one almost a year ago. I noticed that towards the top of the tent, there is an open triangle where the pole goes into the top of the tent. It’s a good size triangle that will allows bugs to go into the tent so be careful. Great review overall.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the square-shaped tipi tent! It's important to note potential drawbacks like the open triangle at the top. Bugs can indeed be a nuisance. Overall, I appreciate your honest review. Speaking of outdoor gear, if you're looking for a reliable power backup solution for your camping trips, I highly recommend the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It offers massive capacity, fast recharging, and comprehensive protections. Happy camping!
EDIT : I apologize for not starting out with a proper greeting , Hello luke thank you for your time . I agree on the porch, it's not very good for rain and wind in my experience so far. I always end up braking out an extra tarp. But other then that , I have had no issues with the 160. It's been 100% water proof no leaks.
Superb review of these 2 iterations of tents fr onetigris ! I’m glad to see that you consider us taller / larger folk when doing your reviews it helps sooo much at 6’3” and 300lbs ( ex rugby player) it really helps to know what can work and what clearly won’t! I think they should add the snow skirt to the larger one too to provide additional weather/ wind resistance to the front part of the tent setup. I agree having two side panels to create better wet weather coverage at the door would make all the difference, add a zip to the air vent system at the rear with additional guys . With those changes I would definitely go buy one as it could be an excellent 3 season tent and for the price under $200 it would sell. Let’s see if they take onboard the comments, hopefully they do and then w all win! Thank you for doing these reviews, so really appreciated by many of us.. Cheers
Great review and look to be great tents for the price range. The additions that the manufacture does adds to the cost of the product. The additional panels, tie outs, and zipper/velcro for the rear flap could add as much as $50 or more to the tent. As another individual below mentioned he has always had to do some kind of DIY on products he has bought to make it the way he wants. For the price point I agree they are great tents. They seem more like an entry level tent that would last better than an Ozark Trail type tent. A little sewing and seam seal and attachment points can be added easily.
I think you are spot on on the cons for these tents and if they fix the issues they will have a tent that will be hard to beat and they need to think about us big guys, because I don't want to wake-up with my tent sagging down upon me.
Hi Luke, I’m looking for a tent for motorcycle camping……I find the Lone Rider moto tent too large and cumbersome, maybe you can review the other Lone Rider tent, the adv tent. I would also love to hear your thoughts on the smallest Kodiak flex-bow tent…..the 6086. Love your work and your channel 👍
Comprehensive and through review Luke thanks. Both tents have their place in the scheme of things, relatively light weight, easy set up, moisture proof mainly, ventilation and price, yeah not bad on the whole. The vent in the back is a pro/con depending on season used, a zipper could fix that. They look like a good option to consider. Nicely done sir. Enjoy!
Luke thank you for telling me I was good to buy the large, it arrived today. I think I figured out why the back has no guy lines....if you start pulling on the back, it may deform the 3D condensation system making it worthless. As is it goes straight across, but pull on it and it turns into a V shape. Best reason I can come up with.
Thanks Luke, it’s time for me to pull the trigger on a new tent and your channel has helped a ton. Love this tent. Would love to see all the you said added to the lg. alos would lie so see a snow skirt on it. Them it would be almost perfect.
Hey Luke, another great review and thanks for keeping it real and honest. I like both, especially for the price, but here in FL, you need a tent inner. I don't normally like the center pole .but after watching how much quicker and easier to set up, I may change my attitude.
I do really like these tents and will consider them in the future. I think the biggest drawback is the lack of guylines. I could use the large version all year but if it lacks the strength to hold up to some weather then I may leave it at home more often and that is a big negative for me. I hope that if they do make some changes then it doesn't mess with the price much. They have very good prices now but much more then I would have to start making a budget to buy one. The awning is really nice for the extra air flow and sun block. Bad weather comes in the zip it part of the way and stake out the excess to make a big vent.
Hi Luke. Just as a small aside with your tent stake ropes... Since these does are synthetic, I have melted the two grated end together using a flame, maybe a cigarette lighter to melt the fibres together. This stops them fraying and stopped them coming untied.
This looks like an excellent tent. I will wait until the next version of the tent, which will be a serious contentder for my next tent purchase with my limited funds. The cordage on the tent stakes, is annoying, but one option to secure, if you don't have CA glue etc. if to put a flame to the knot when you have finished, it will melt a tad, and the outsides of the cord fuse together.
I find that Duct Tape is a great temporary seal for vents, and might suggest super gluing a makeshift guy line hold on the back seam of the tent. Your thoughts?
Another awesome review Luke. Much appreciated. I agree with your assessment completely. I would consider a purchase of the bigger model if they indeed address your points.
I rip all those stake ties off and replace with bank line myself. That larger tent looks kinda slick. It does shock me the level of quality OneTigris produces! 👌
Fantastic review! I really like the large version it ticks all the boxes for me but the back guy lines worry me. I can’t believe they didn’t add them in! If they add them this is a definite buy!
Great video as always! I realise you get a lot of asking for reviews, I would love to see a review of a not really wel known company called "grand canyon". I believe they are a german brand. I recently bought their Cardova 1 tent and I would really like to see your thoughts on their tents since it is not a well known company at the prices make the tents accesible to a lot of people that don't have that much money such as college students as myself.
As far as sealing the vent flap inside the tent, I'd add strong velcro tape and sew tack for extra strength, to allow for that (a do-it-yourself project. Yes, I agree the company should address it). Also a skilled sewer could add a couple of strong guide loops to the back of the tent fabric which would be another thing the company could do in future iterations.
There's hardly a thing I buy that I don't have to fix, repair, tweak, or engineer. You name it I have fixed it. If you have someting you really like and it's 95% good, take it on and make it 100%.
Love the channel its become the main camping channel I watch I am going to get the larger version of this tent due solely to these reviews hopefully by the time I order it (about a month) I hope they put a couple of tie points on the backside but it isn't a deal breaker scratch that I literally just got it haha impulse buy
I’d like to see them resisting strong windy conditions and heavy rain. Without an extra tarp to protect the entrance. Don’t know, but I feel better with my 3x3 meter tarp when I set it in an almost similar style as the small one. Simpler, more adjustable, cheaper, lighter than the onetigris
Your previous review of the large tent influenced me to buy it. When I pegged the corners out, the tag that’s connected to the main body of the tent on the corner tie out points torn away from the main body of the tent. I used reasonable force when pegging the corners. I was disappointed and returned the tent back to Amazon. I had issues with a onetigris tent a few years ago as well. It was raining like crazy, I was soaking wet and desperately needed to get in my tent to get dry and warm. The zip on the main door jammed and eventually zipped but the zipped part would just open behind it so I was opening and closing the door for a while to eventually get the door to zip up as it should. I said it before and I’ll say it again… I won’t buy a onetigris tent again. Good luck to those who do, I hope it works for you.
I like the square tents the best. Simple to set up with plenty of space. And they can take a pounding! I have had mine in all sorts of conditions without fail. I have the Luxe minipeak xl which is an amazing tent for the money, and a Seek Outside Cimmaron. The Cimmaron has more space, bigger is better. Space is important, especially when hot tenting. Not sure I like the door setup on those one tigris tents though. They seem like nice enough tents though
Love your products reviews!! I’m torn between the one tigres tetra 160 vs the nature hike canyon 2 person tent. Which is your favourite for ease of use vs space?
Perfect design for adventure rider’s. Packing is perfect for motorcycle camping. Especially when you have a ton of room to get dressed and undressed out of riding/Moto gear. Plenty of room to keep your gear in the vestibule nice and dry. Hell you may even be able to back a smaller enduro under for some cover. So much room for activities!
Hi Luck. I enjoyed the very interesting content on this last video. You do great reviews on tents thank you for that. One Tigres has a product called Brush Craft Shelter 2.0. I getting into motorbike camping.
Excellent video, thank you for the review. The smaller version, to me, seems like a hot tent without a stove jack. Nothing more than a shell, as you say, a glorified tarp. If I were to buy one I would wait until version 2 and see if guy line tie out points were put on the back. I think this would be a great tent for multiple day motorcycle trips, which I do 3-4 times a summer.
Very interested in the larger one but waiting for the next gen version. My pack load is pretty well set, so there's no urgency to new tents, but I am very interested in this one. I'd also be very interested in a hot tent version of the large one.
i have the larger one down to about 2.8 lbs be using a trekking pole/pole extender from zpacks. since ill be carrying the trekking pole anyway, it just makes sense.
for the porch setup, onetigris just need to add more fabric on front door that is on some bagpacks, when you unzip the sides of bag u get more space in a bag, same here, integrated in front door in middle, single zip on door, when you unzip it,it have inside more fabric to stretch out for porch..When not in use, roll it up and velcro it somehow and zip it up.
I have been searching your videos and may have missed it, But have you reviewed the one tigres wall hammock tents? It would be interesting to see a video on them, If you have a video and I missed it, Sorry.
Thanks for all you do. Q. In the interest of weight. could the pole that comes with the larger versio. Be replaced by a trekking pole, is there room in the pocket at the top?
One thought-you mentioned the cosmitto tent leaking. I suspect they didn't make it in-house but rather had their design shipped out to oh say maybe China? Because they ordered a large production run they would have taken it in the shorts if they didn't sell those tents. They sold them as is with a disclaimer, and looked to improve in their next iteration. I'm sure it's been said before but it would be nice if you could consult on tent prototypes! Companies could improve their product quality and you could get some cash :)
I honestly might get the smaller version for Airsoft Milsim events cause you have to pack light. It’s quick setup and takedown. I’ll just find a tree to tie off the top with.
If and when OneTigris adds more guyline time-outs, and adds flap options to the rear airflow and doors, I’m going to snatch one up. Please get this done OneTigris. You’re so close to perfection here!

After how they treated Lonewolf902, I dont trust them either…
Heck I reached out to the company asking about shipping and handling cost. Did the company reach back out no.

Just ordered mine as well, went with the large one. amazon had a 5% discount going so I got it for $170. Not to bad. Thank you Luke

I do really like these tents and will consider them in the future. I think the biggest drawback is the lack of guylines. love the tent style myself they really do look wonderful and a great price . Yes a few issues but id work around them thanks for the review Luke .
Hi Luke. Just as a small aside with your tent stake ropes... Since these does are synthetic, I have melted the two grated end together using a flame, maybe a cigarette lighter to melt the fibres together. This stops them fraying and stopped them coming untied.

These are realistically priced. Great presentation and info. Thank you, Luke.
I find that Duct Tape is a great temporary seal for vents, and might suggest super gluing a makeshift guy line hold on the back seam of the tent. Your thoughts?
Something about the terms "Super Glue" and "makeshift" that I never rely on being able to effectively co-exist. 🤣🤣
Great job, Luke. After they fix those issues, I would definitely consider buying the larger version. Great price.
I would love to see a video with all of the top recommendations for the year out of all of the products you have previewed.
I can't wait for the next version of the larger tent. Sounds perfect for my needs!
Another awesome review Luke. Much appreciated. I agree with your assessment completely. I would consider a purchase of the bigger model if they indeed address your points.
My Tetra (the small one) will arrive tomorrow. Im gonna use it on a 5 day hiking trip in sweden next month.
Thank you for your advice and thank you for the truth when I buy another tent I know what to look for 🙂Hi Susie ❤️

Luke knows his tents. Great video. Thanks

A quick fix to the vent flap would be adhesive velcro. If you recommend this to the manufacturer, they could always sew them in.

I'd probably go for the larger one. It's on my wish list
I'd be interested in a video of you modifying tents like this to meet your expectations (like adding guidelines and door flaps to this tent)
Think I’d definitely get the larger one, as I’m on my own. It’s more of a tent ⛺️. 🤷♀️🇬🇧
isn't that cord on the tent pegs meltable as we used to do just burn, and melt the ends together, if so.
Very interested in the larger one but waiting for the next gen version. My pack load is pretty well set, so there's no urgency to new tents, but I am very interested in this one. I'd also be very interested in a hot tent version of the large one.
not used my 130 yet but planning to do so this coming weekend. I might try a couple of tarp grips though on the rear?
i have the larger one down to about 2.8 lbs be using a trekking pole/pole extender from zpacks. since ill be carrying the trekking pole anyway, it just makes sense.
it is about time One aTigris did something right, with all the problems they had in the past
I wonder if the oneTigris mesh tipi tent would fit/work with the smaller tent? If it does, it solves the "tent" advantage of the larger tent
The only question I have concerning any OneTigris products is the cost of shipping and handling. Are the prices included that or no?
How are these at the end of winter into spring? Is there too much air flow? Would it be too cold?
I wish they still made the older small tipi tents like the smokey hut and iron wall especially
for the porch setup, onetigris just need to add more fabric on front door that is on some bagpacks, when you unzip the sides of bag u get more space in a bag, same here, integrated in front door in middle, single zip on door, when you unzip it,it have inside more fabric to stretch out for porch..When not in use, roll it up and velcro it somehow and zip it up.
I have been searching your videos and may have missed it, But have you reviewed the one tigres wall hammock tents? It would be interesting to see a video on them, If you have a video and I missed it, Sorry.
Great review Luke
Thanks for all you do. Q. In the interest of weight. could the pole that comes with the larger versio. Be replaced by a trekking pole, is there room in the pocket at the top?
Luke
I'm curious as to what you think about tents like the nordic teepee. Its fairly expensive and in my opinion is very niche.
Great review yet again Luke. 😅❤🇬🇧
Luke, would you recommend a little buddy heater for one of these?
I would choose the larger tent
One thought-you mentioned the cosmitto tent leaking. I suspect they didn't make it in-house but rather had their design shipped out to oh say maybe China? Because they ordered a large production run they would have taken it in the shorts if they didn't sell those tents. They sold them as is with a disclaimer, and looked to improve in their next iteration. I'm sure it's been said before but it would be nice if you could consult on tent prototypes! Companies could improve their product quality and you could get some cash :)
Id pay an extra 40-50 dollars for the TOGR upgraded version of the larger tent. That looks pretty close to ideal, actually.
I like the look of the tents
I would love to get the large one
I would sew in Velcro on the back flap so I could seal it off or keep it half open. I think that would work ok.
I'm trying to decide between one of these large Tetras or a Teton mountain ultra...
I honestly might get the smaller version for Airsoft Milsim events cause you have to pack light. It’s quick setup and takedown. I’ll just find a tree to tie off the top with.
think I shall wait for the next generation
