The box says it's made for wide angle lenses, and should work. If it's on and APSC camera, the crop factor is x 1.5 so it makes about an an 18mm equivalent of a full-frame camera.
No. The Ulanzi is an add-on, and screwing the teleprompter onto it while it is fixed on the lens barrel is too much weight. Check out my video on the ZV1 with a Teleprompter.

It will be a number next to a circle with a slash through it. If not, go to B&H photo, look for your lens model, and then the specs. It will be listed under filter size. The desview t2 comes with a whole assortment of rings, and there should be ones for your lens.
Amazing video and I have the same lens Sigma 16mm/1.4 on my Sony ZV-E10. Thank you for this valuable video and purchased now my first teleprompter thanks to you 🙌
For most talking head videos, frame yourself with the camera and lock in the positioning of the camera after you frame yourself and set exposure, white balance, etc. Once you do that, then attach the teleprompter. Since you’re reading the prompter, you shouldn’t need to look at the camera monitor. If you have the camera audio indicators on, you’ll know when recording starts, and when you end recording. This is how I film, and I don’t look at the monitor unless I need to review footage. Thanks for watching!
Your 16mm is a 24mm full frame equivalent, correct? Just wanted to clarify. I’d consider wide angle like 20mm and below on FF. I wonder if it would work on an 18mm FF?
Josh, the conversion you made is correct for the A6400. While so, the documentation for the Desview says it’s made for wide angle lenses, and it should be the same with full frame. Thanks for watching!
Hi there great info and well presented. I have an A6400; same Sigma lens. Question: I play piano and sing. Would the Desview app scroll down lyrics and chord changes in large print at tempo, hands free? Cheers from Vancouver.
Hi James! I don’t know about music with the software I I use PromptSmart Pro. It relies on spoken word for moving the script. Perhaps there’s some musical software or sheet music apps for a Phone that will be your “page turner?” Another option, presentation software with your music scanned into it and timed for your music? I wish I knew more. I’ll keep an eye out for some! Thanks for watching.
It will, but you will need a step up ring for the kit lens because it is smaller than the ones which come with the Desview teleprompters. See the description for which one you need to work with the teleprompter, and the link to get it. Thanks for watching!
On the end of your Sigma 16mm lens, you'll see a number with a circle with a slash through it. That is the filter ring size, which will be the same size ring you'll need.
If I'm doing a talking-head segment in my videos, I simply frame the shot and use eye-autofocus on ZV-1 and ZV-e10. On the A6400, there is no eye autofocus in video mode, so I use it where it tracks my face for focus. It's better to frame your shot, set white-balance, check sound and focus with a test shot. If all is well, then put the teleprompter onto the lens and film looking into the lens and teleprompter since you already know you're framed and focused correctly.
It should work, but I don’t recommend zooming in on that type of lens. It should be at the widest so you get the benefit of the teleprompter and the lowest aperture for better exposure.

It appears the GoPro 8 Black is 19-39mm in linear mode, and at its widest it will work. I use the Sigma 16mm with it on an A6400 which is equivalent to 24mm on APSC. It might work, and if you get some black in the corners, just use the digital zoom until they’re gone.

The Parrot is smaller than the Desview T2. On the parrot, you can somewhat see the monitor and on the desview, partially blocked on the A6400. @@TechTravelBeyond Okay. Thank you. I am guessing with the recent push for vertical content, they will make teleprompters that can do this with cameras (not just phones).

I don’t have the t3, but it should have the ring mount for your lens in the kit. Look at the tens from the front and it will tell you the filter size and that’s the mounting ring you would use. Just trying to figure it out as I am not really the best with these things so unsure if the T2 or T3 work with the sigma 30mm 1.4 lens. Please help gif you can
@ I've been trying to find the answer to this question for hours and hours. Please let me know if you've found out since posting your comment! What I don't understand is that the mounting rings for the t2 go from 49 - 82mm, which is well above the 30mm sigma lens (yet the creator of this channel is getting it to work with his 16mm sigma). Maybe I'm confusing the dimensions for different aspects of the lens?
Oh he literally answered it in one of the comments below - 'you'll see the filter size number for the screw on part on the front or side of the lens itself. It will be a number next to a circle with a slash through it'. I can see the Sigma 30mm lens has a filter size of 52mm, and the t2 does come with an adapter ring that size.
@@JamesRichardson3rd The glidegear tmp 75 may work. If you look at the last pic, it shows a camera mounted on the back, and you can use the webcam's 1/4" tripod screw and an adapter to mount it inside the prompter. You may need an adapter to raise it high enough so you focus into the teleprompter's center of the screen while reading your script. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1607036-REG/glide_gear_tmp_75_laptop_smartphone.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514

Look at the front of your lens. It has a 77mm filter thread, and the teleprompter kit comes with 9 standard adapter rings(49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82mm)
@@brazatolz213 The filter size for your lens is always next to the circle with a slash. Now you also know how to get the proper sized filter for your lenses!
Yes. There are rings for attaching the teleprompter onto your lens. Several are included with the kit. As long as there are the screw threads on the end of your lens, it will work! Thanks for watching!
@@raelyntan No. as the box says, this is made for wide angle lenses. I use the Sigma 16mm f1.4 wide angle lens for shooting with this teleprompter! It works! Thanks for watching.
Will this Desview T2 teleprompter work well with the Sony ZV-1 that has No interchangeable lenses? Is an ipad needed to read the script from far or a smartphone is enough? Thanks for sharing
If you want to use an iPad, use the Glidegear with your camera: geni.us/uLqQP The Desview t2 can be mounted on a filter mount. I did this video about it using a teleprompter with a ZV-1. It's how I film. Watch the video here: ua-cam.com/video/S_FzHta1DVQ/v-deo.html
@@TechTravelBeyond Wait. Let me see if I understand: You do use the teleprompter Desview T2 with the Sony ZV-1. Right? The lens can't be changed so you use a special mount, right? But why should I use a different teleprompter if I use an iPad instead of the phone for the script? I got confused there. Separately, I am planning to do indoor talking head style YT videos like you but not to close to the camera. I don't want my face too big in the video. Since I am planning to have the camera further away from my face, do you think the words would be too small to read if I use a phone?
Chuck, what is the best teleprompter to record horizontal videos with an iPhone and use an ipad to project the script? Who knows about that? Thank you!
Would this work with the unazi wide angle lens for the zv1? I know you are trying it with the sony 6400. I am trying to decide between the canon m50 mark ii and sony zv1. I know the wide angle lens for the zv1 is only 50$ but i really want to use a wide angle lens on the zv1 and a teleprompter.
You can’t put weight onto the lens tube of the ZV1. I made a video on how to use a teleprompter with the ZV1, and it uses a mount that the lens passes through into the teleprompter. From what I know, the wide angle lens unit affixed by adhesive to the end of the lens tube will not fit through the teleprompter and will not alleviate the weight issues on the lens tube.
@Madfishbiscuit So you tried it and it didn’t work? I didn’t buy the wide angle addition for the ZV1 because it wouldn’t work for my current studio set up.
I am on iOS, and use SmartPrompt Pro. It listens and advances the script as you read it so I can have my hands freed up for products, etc. For my outdoor shots, I use bullet points I’ve memorized or pre read my talking points and shoot in small “scenes” that I edit together since a teleprompter would not be ideal to carry and use outside. Thanks for watching!
For the ZV1, using the CAME-TV mount, I’d recommend the Parrot. For camera mounted, non-telescoping interchangeable wide-angle lenses, the T2. If you added a wide angle adhesive stick-on adapter addition to the ZV1, you still cannot mount a teleprompter to the telescoping lens.
Another awesome review Chuck! 👏🏻👏🏻😊It sounds like the Desview Teleprompter is better than the Parrot Teleprompter since it can accommodate a wide-angle lens. I bought the Desview Teleprompter solely because it accommodates a wide-angle lens and I tend to keep a wide-angle/further zoom when shooting on my Canon G7-X MarkII. Since you own both teleprompters, what you would consider the main benefit of the Parrot Teleprompter over the Desview?
The main benefit: you can use it with wide-angle lenses, or shoot wide with telescoping lenses like the ZV1! When you shoot wide with smaller cameras, you can get the blurry backgrounds because you can use the lower apertures. In the video, I also didn’t have to have my lights at a very bright setting, and this helped to bring out the background colored lights. Thanks for watching, Karen!
The only original and patented prompter is the Parrot and the Parrot pro (newly released); the rest that you see online are a knockoff and should not be in the market. Cheers!
Your mileage may vary and the t2 is what I currently use with an A6400 and the Sigma 16mm f1.4. The Parrot isn’t wide enough for this lens. The t2 is designed for wide angle lenses, and it works! Thanks for watching.

So glad this was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Hi, can I use this teleprompter without any problem with a blackmagic 4k with a meike 16mm t2.2 wide angle lens? Would you help me
I use it with the Sigma 16mm on the A6400. It should work with your set up because it is made for wide-angle lenses. Thanks for watching, Bruno!
Can i use ND Filter with teleprompter
Why would you need to?
@@TechTravelBeyond record outside in sunny day with F2.8 without decreasing shutter speed. I think it's possible, cause my Hoya ND Filter have thread connect
@@Kiporino You can use an ND Filter with the teleprompter, but realize if it's pretty bright outside, you may have problems seeing text as it is reflected onto the glass panel of the teleprompter from your phone. You may need to increase brightness of your phone so you can see the text.
I think my issue now (Yes I also bought the wrong teleprompter for a sigma wide angle lens!) is that now my iPad that I use for the Teleprompter screen is too big for this Desview t@ Teleprompter! Just wanted to check first - but my iPad is the A1566 (Air2) which is 170cm x 240cm - so would that fit the base/clamp?? This is the one I have set up to Duet to use with both text and also image (eCamm Live etc) as a third screen but also to read text.
What you need is the Desview made for iPads. I used the one for smartphones in this video, but you can get the iPad version here: geni.us/a9a8eN
@@TechTravelBeyond ok thanks we are both on the same page here as before your reply came in I also did some research and spotted the T3, which I have since ordered. Fingers crossed lol
Loved this! Thanks so much. Would the desview T3 work on sigma 30mm 1.4 lens?
I don’t have the t3, but it should have the ring mount for your lens in the kit. Look at the tens from the front and it will tell you the filter size and that’s the mounting ring you would use. Also, be careful if using a tablet. While nice, if your eyes are tracking across the screen wider than the lens, it may be noticeable if the camera is close. Thanks for watching!
@@TechTravelBeyond I’ll be using my phone.
Would the T2 work for sigma 30mm lens? As even in the T2 videos I’ve watched I’ve not seen the fit for 30mm ? Just from 49mm
Is there any way to use this with a high end webcam like the Logitech Brio or the new Avermedia PW513?
Honestly, I don’t really know because I don’t have webcams. If I find a resource, I’ll message you through this thread. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the response. You just gained a new subscriber!
@@JamesRichardson3rd The glidegear tmp 75 may work. If you look at the last pic, it shows a camera mounted on the back, and you can use the webcam's 1/4" tripod screw and an adapter to mount it inside the prompter. You may need an adapter to raise it high enough so you focus into the teleprompter's center of the screen while reading your script. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1607036-REG/glide_gear_tmp_75_laptop_smartphone.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514
Great video. Question for you. I have a Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Sony E. Will this Desview T2 Teleprompter work? It says it only has ring mounts for 48-82mm. So, I'm confused how you got yours to work.
Look at the front of your lens. It has a 77mm filter thread, and the teleprompter kit comes with 9 standard adapter rings(49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82mm)
@@TechTravelBeyond wow you just broke my brain. I didn't realize that 77mm is there. I thought it was just 24mm
@@brazatolz213 The filter size for your lens is always next to the circle with a slash. Now you also know how to get the proper sized filter for your lenses!
@@TechTravelBeyond Thank you very much.
Sigma 16mm f1.4 (Sony E-Mount) - Is this suitable to be used along with Sony A6100 also? Kindly help
Yes, it fits the A6100! Thanks for watching!

@@getinspired5367 I use the Sigma 16mm for my videos, so happy filming!
@@TechTravelBeyond Thank you, Happy Filming and your videos are amazing :)
i have a sigma 16mm 1.4 for my canon m50 and this is what im looking for...tnx a lot...nearly buying a parrot...sub done..
So glad this helped! The T2 is what I’m using since I went back to using the Sigma 16mm f1.4! Thank you!
Hey! I have a Sony full frame 20mm f1.8 lens. So slightly wider than the 16mm 1.4 aspc... Would I be able to use this?
Yes. There are rings for attaching the teleprompter onto your lens. Several are included with the kit. As long as there are the screw threads on the end of your lens, it will work! Thanks for watching!
@@TechTravelBeyond Thankyou! Will the teleprompter block the corners of the footage since this is ultra wide angle? :)
Thank you!
very helpful tysm

Nice content and review. 🙏🏾
Thank You! Do you or have you used a teleprompter?
@@TechTravelBeyond Unfortunately, I do not have a teleprompter; however, you are quite compelling so there may be one i my future!
Nice content sir! Is there any way we use this with action cam?
That's so cool...I'm actually trying this out for a video soon! Thanks for watching.
@@TechTravelBeyond nice! can't wait for the video! you're welcome.
What software do you use on your phone for your scripts?
I am on iOS, and use SmartPrompt Pro. It listens and advances the script as you read it so I can have my hands freed up for products, etc. For my outdoor shots, I use bullet points I’ve memorized or pre read my talking points and shoot in small “scenes” that I edit together since a teleprompter would not be ideal to carry and use outside. Thanks for watching!
@@TechTravelBeyond thank you so much for your insight. Extremely great content.
Thanks

Great video! Would that work with a Sony A6400 wide lens 10mm?
I’ve only used this with the Sigma 16mm, but I’d imagine it would work. The box says it’s patented for wide angle lenses, so It may!
So for someone using the ZV-1, do you recommend the T2 or the Parrot? Thanks :)
Thanks for posting! I'm really glad that I didn't buy the Parrot!
What do you use? Thanks for watching!
@@TechTravelBeyond I use my iPhone clamped to my webcam
