The majority of our videos use voiceovers which are scripted and read off a monitor. Our on-camera footage is unscripted. You do a good job using the TelePrompter. Animated and engaging. The concentrated stare of reading gets to some people though. It depends on how sensitive your audience is to it and how long the shots are. I've suggested to on-air talent that they look away as if looking at back up notes occasionally whether they have them or not for extended shots. There are other ways, but just something to break the lock on the TelePrompter. It takes a bit of practice but can make a big difference.
I agree with this tip. A chance to look away is when you mention the remote control. Look at the remote (ad lib if you can) and then look back at the camera. Also remember to blink. 🙂
Thank you, Amanda. I use an outline. And, I do not read it. I am an actor, so I comfortable on camera. When i screw up, I simply pause, hold my position, then continue where I left off in the same position so that I can make a relatively smooth jump cut. I recommend knowing all of your key talking points and learning to deliver each one different ways. That helps you to be relaxed on camera and to not worry about forgetting specific lines or words. It's the same approach i take to on camera acting auditions.
Tip #2 has been absolutely HUGE for me. I’m terrible at reading off a teleprompter, winging it, and going off bullet points. Even after making videos for 7+ years, delivering in chunks is still the only way I’ve ever been able to make it work (and it actually works pretty well).
@Retipster @AmandaHorvath This is where I got stuck with some understanding. So you read 2 sentences of the script over and over again or like 3 times each line through your run-through? Like I don't know what it is about my fog mind but I am having difficulty understanding this concept. Could I get some quick clarification or elaboration on this?
@merlin6223 you’ll find your own flow with it. The general rule is that you don’t really want only 1 take cause when filming yourself, it’s easy for something to happen and mess up that take (like your audio glitches or something). Having 2 takes minimum helps reduce errors. It really ultimately depends on YOUR preferences though. Bottom line - experiment and find what works for you! These are merely guidelines for what has helped me avoid needing to reshoot or kick myself in editing for making a mistake that now I’m stuck with. Hope this helps!
@@merlin6223I think she means you do one whole video, then a second one. I'm not sure if there's a way to combine the two to cover the glitches, but I think that's what she's saying
@TreasuredDay nope! Do ONE line or paragraph at a time. Keep watching the video and you’ll see how I combine to hide the edits (aka crop in and out or use b-roll or full screen graphics to hide the edits).
Hi Amanda, it is impossible to detect that you are using a teleprompter. You convey the impression of being supremely confident and supremely knowledgeable. I particularly like how you maintain eye contact throughout. Impressive.
I bought the Neewer teleprompter. Wrote a script for my product review video. There is so much information I can't imagine doing this type of video without a teleprompter. Since it will be my first product review video, I imagine I will get better at them and be able to flow with just an outline after some time and practice. Thanks for your great videos. They are helpful and insightful.
This was really helpful, and you've pulled back the curtain on those 'B-roll' bits of footage and the zoom in / zoom out thing that I've seen in so many other UA-cam videos - now it makes so much more sense! It's actually serving an editing purpose and isn't just about having more stuff going on in the video! That was a revelation - thanks for this huge tip 😀
I am lew to this and really nervous about doing it. I was really happy to hear you tell beginners to script it. I will look into the Parrot Teleprompter. thanks for the great advice!
Some great tips, I dislike jump cuts ( or worse when people try to hide them with a with a 3 frame blur between clips ) so have been trying to record in a single take, but then i trip over a word after 5 minutes and it's back to the start! Love the simplicity of switching the framing - hides the joins really well without needing to change the camera angle at all. Have been thinking about a teleprompter too and this has encouraged me to try one.
NO! I could NOT tell you were reading from a teleprompter!! Very impressive!! I’m definitely doing it!! I’m going with the Parrot unless you respond back otherwise!! I SO appreciate your video…TY 💫
Outlining, zooms for jump cuts, batches of sentences, all very particularly useful tips. Yes I can tell you are using a teleprompter, it's the spacing between your words and it felt more clear, in a rhythm and concise but its best when it comes to how to and information videos. Great video, thanks
No you can't tell she's using a teleprompter. You can tell her speech is even and consistent and you surmise its due to pre written copy since most humans don't have speech that consistent and fluid.
Great video! Lots of good advices! Thank you! A tip for Parrot Teleprompter users. If you don't have the remote control (I couldn't buy it at B&H Photo because they weren't allowed to ship gear with batteries abroad. I live in Sweden and couldn't buy it here, at least not in 2018 when I bought my Parrot Teleprompter), use a slim bluetooth keyboard instead and start/stop scrolling by hitting the space button. Scroll up and down by usig the arrow buttons.
Oh my god, many thanks for this! The online teaching has been such a pain for everybody that I decided to script my classes and shoot them. Students love it but it takes me so much time!! Your tips helped me a lot and encouraged me to carry on. I will definitely watch your other videos to get more efficiency in my work flow. I am new to this but I think I am getting better everytime. Thanks again Amanda!
Very helpful. Could tell before I ever finished writing one that outlining was for me, just didn't know how. The Delivering in Chunks points seems to make the most difference for me. Thanks!
Thank you for your sound advice - much appreciated :-) As for your question about noticing the use of a teleprompter, the answer is YES - I can tell you're reading since you continuously fix your eyes on the camera to read the script. Natural speech is more than just intonation; it involves "random" eye movement as we think, remember or express emotions.
I love outlining! It's working great for youtube - but for an online education I think it's harder to wing things. 10 min video content vs 60+ is a different game.
Hey Amanda, I wanted to thank for helping me. I just started making videos for my real estate business and I was struggling in front of the camera and was wasting lots of time reshooting. I purchased the Parrot teleprompter and now I finally have content. You really helped me and I'm grateful. Just thought I would let you know:)
I personally never scripted a video , but i always had the headlines written. But what a nice cheaper solution! for those who want such a tool ! Technology is making it easier than ever to create your own video world . Lastly, you are a very good storyteller ! Keep it up !
I've always found trying to remember a script word for word makes me come across a bit robotic on camera but maybe that's just me 😂 Thanks for the video, will be using the outline tip more and the chunking tip was gold!
or just use ppt mirror tool to convert and invert the script you typed from powerpoint on your iPad or smartphone and use the device in a teleprompter if you want to avoid script memorizing and to read word for word, and the ppt mirror tool use bluetooth pageflip pedal to switch your slides during video recording.
Great info here! Teleprompters are great to keep you on subject and deliver precisely what you want to deliver but you are so right about having to make sure your script is on point and ready to read prior to recording. Love the content! Subbed!
I'm definitely an outline presenter. I do both recorded content and live presentations/seminars. Outlining allows me to create a consistent message and improvise based on interactions and knowledge of my audience. I really enjoy your content, Amanda. Another great video! I'm curious about your vocal fry at the end of each sentence. I have been taught to "lower my tone" at the end of a sentence to sound more knowledgeable and in control. You always come across clear an concise (must be the great scripting!). Is that an intentional vocal trait?
Yay!!! So glad to hear it! Btw - I'm doing a free video class tomorrow that I bet you'd love! www.amandahorvath.site/register Would love to have you join (hopefully you see this in time 😁)
My compliments. You are dressed casually and comfortably plus you are always looking directly at the camera. Your diction is perfect, and your background does not distract from your message. Lovely smile, also. It has been a few years since I was required to present a message to an audience via a pre-recorded video, and I wanted to see what advice others might have for using a script. I am delighted to say I learned some things from your video. Now I am going to get started creating my video. Thanks for an outstanding video lesson.
Do it! If you like this video then you'll love my full on training on how to get started in the most efficient way possible. Def recommend 🙌 amandahorvath.site/freetraining
Really enjoyed this video, Amanda! No, I couldn't tell that you were reading off a teleprompter :) How long does it take you to script your videos vs writing an outline only? Is scripting + teleprompter faster than outlining? Thanks for your work! New sub :)
Thank you for this! Filming my first videos for a course this weekend and feeling NERVOUS! I’ve decided I’m going to go line by line and edit using zooms like you did in the video. I like how that kept the visual interest & distracted from the cuts. Thanks for the help!
@@Sahanrealty A real pain in the A* is when English is not your first language, but you insist on creating content in English. I see myself scripting and repeating over and over again HAHA. I want to share some memories and shots taken during my trips, music without voice or narration is not very engaging though.
Prompter can be a useful tool but can also become crutch. I’d say use prompter for bullets and specific facts that you want to include without getting them wrong. But having bullets allows for the space for you to shine. Anyone can learn to read scrolling paragraphs but there’s only ONE you so let your personality shine!! Great video Amanda!
Thanks Amanda, I've been using a tablet Setup behind my webcam, but can only use it when I'm a picture-in-picture while screen sharing, otherwise it looks way too obvious, so this was very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for your advise. I just bought a Ikan Pt4500 tk for my use within a hospital and a business I own.. I looking forward to the learning curve. Wish I had such a positive wonderful presenter like yourself to do the video needed at the winery. You are truly smooth and can hold the audience with your lovely smile. Some people have it....others don't...you have been blessed. thanks again.
Thank you Amanda, it was very helpful and I got a super concrete answer to my question. I thought actually that you might be using telepromter because of the paced speed of you speech which, I guess, can happen when you have the text rolling at a set speed. We used a telepromter for filming a videocourse and thanks to it managed to record 45 pages of text in just on day. Happy I found your channel, looking forward to explore your content!
Welcome to the club! Yeah the teleprompter can be great for getting a lot done (so long as the script works and doesn't need tweaking in the moment). I don't have a set speed when using the teleprompter though. I'm consistently using the remote to speed up and down at certain speeds. Some sentences just come out easier than others. Love that you filmed a video course - CONGRATS!! It's such a huge win to get into the course world. You may appreciate the brand new video series I just dropped, if you haven't yet seen it. It's all about how to grow a six figure online biz using video! amandahorvath.site/start
This is the first time I see your channel, awesome content and you’re so good-looking too!! (No hetero 🙏) As a musical artist I don’t usually have to shoot scripted videos and for livestreams with fans I usually use outlines, mostly because they involve interaction anyway. But then just as you said, for the broadcast version I always find myself having to edit out a lot of filler, dead air and repetitive parts even if I stayed on topic, apparently that’s just something we do? So thanks for the tip, now I’ll know to use a script when I have to shoot something prerecorded - seems like it’ll save me a lot of time.
Very helpful info for a new UA-camr wondering about scripting - thank you Amanda. (Yes, I could tell you were reading, but it didn't take away from the value, maybe even added to it since you were so succinct!)
I'm still kind of figuring it out. I feel like reading everything is great if your content is informative, but when it's for entertainment it makes you look robotic.
Actually, even when it's for entertainment, u can make it sound entertaining. You need to speak with emotions while reading, using pauses, exclamations, and changing tone of voice as per situation... Then, it won't sound robotic.... I try to do that in some of my videos where I just read out.... And then it sounds fine...
Not when its done right. What you're referring to is the limit of the presenter. Watch a newscast. You can immediately tell when they switch to improvisation (during transitions, e.g. news to weather/sports/etc.) The whole meter and tone changes.
This is a sign that you're right where you need to be. Stretch the corners of your mouth upwards. May all your worries wash away and all your UA-cam dreams come true! 💗 Dr. Liz
Hello Amanda, what a relief. I have been making educational videos since 2015, I need 2 days for one minute of video, including scripting. But the most difficult thing I found were the intros and outros, n which I am to be seen myself. I'm German but record in English - many repetitions, slip-ups, glitches - annoying. I can agree with everything you said, from the stupid idea of talking directly into the camera at the beginning to the idea that teaching material should be based on scripts. This has the advantage of being able to publish the text as a book. Now I'm looking for a teleprompter and I stumbled over you. Thanks a lot for the video - great performance - very convincing! - Reiner
Yay!! So glad to hear that. PS. Im offering a free video class tonight on how to overcome self-doubt so you can launch your online presence with video 😎 you might enjoy it! amandahorvath.site/register It only happens a few times per year so be sure to grab your seat if you can!
I’ve been using a teleprompter for the Dr. K Show since the beginning because it keeps my videos concise and speeds up my editing time. But I have been thinking about going with an outline because the scripting process takes me forever too. Got me thinking. Thanks Amanda!
I don’t know why there is still this myth of cinematic 24 FPS. I do not recommend shooting in 24 frames a second. Reason is: the majority of people is watching UA-cam on their phones or tablets. Their native frame rate is 60 FPS, making 30 or 60 frames a second the only “correct” frame rate matching the screens frame rate. For every other frame rate, UA-cam has to either drop a frame here and there, or double a frame. Depending on the content, it might look choppy. 24 frames a second is a cinematic frame rate which makes only sense on devices supporting it natively, which is not phones nor tablets and also not the majority of computers. Please stop shooting in 24 frames unless you specifically want to target cinema or projectors.
24fps is a rate at witch our brain cannot detect changes in frames making videos appear smooth, Unless you are recording a fast action scene such as a car chase, 60fps is a waste of processing time, even then, your brain will fill in the details. Technology can change but biology stays the same.
Bruce Yako 24 FPS is the framerate we BEGIN to see a series of pictures as a fluid motion. But you can DEFINITELY see the difference between 24, 30, 60 and even 120 FPS. Any gamer will tell you as well as any iPad Pro, OnePlus 8 Pro, etc. owner. Besides that, there is still the issue of doubled/skipped frames when watching 24fps content on a 60hz screen.
@@konrad7592 you're confusing what the eyes can see with what the brain can translate. Do some more reasearch on how the eyes and the brain work, Stop listening to gamers lol.
Bruce Yako I did my research. And besides that, I can safely tell you the difference between 30 and 60 FPS with my left eye while just woken up. Everybody can see the difference. That’s a fact. And there is STILL THE ISSUE that UA-cam or the device you’re watching on has to ditch or insert a frame when displaying 24fps on a 60hz screen. 24 just cannot be evenly divided by 60. And that might cause the footage to look odd. You cannot argue with that.
Amanda, this video is well-done & very informative. I am retired & creating a new video each Monday morning. I, likewise, script & outline my videos. I teach Bible videos & frequently change formats during the video. My older UA-cam channel several years ago (not in my personal name) was less focused & longer in length. I created a new channel in January of 2021 in my personal name, Wayne V. Amelung. I use some of your techniques. I use a second Laptop as a teleprompter. Thanks for your video & thanks for inviting comments. Keep up the great work. 🎚
I create Bible lesson/educational vids and use the outline + wing it. I do see the value of scripting it instead, but I also see the value of outlines. I like the natural feel outlining gives me, and it more closely models preaching and teaching, which I've done for over 15 years. I do use jump cuts, zooming slightly, B roll (stock pics and vids), and other things to obscure clip changes. Not to say I'm entertaining or perfect, but I try.
This video came at such a perfect time. I literally just ordered a teleprompter right before seeing this and I'm so excited. Love your energy and enthusiasm. ❤
Hi Amanda, you visited last year a channel of mine and I'm still very thankful ull for your time back then. Unfortunately I wasn't consistent, but now I started a new channel 2,5 weeks ago and will stick to the 1 vid a week plan. Rewatched this video to stay motivated and will stick to my 1$ DYI teleprompter, until I get better in front of the camera with the English language 😅 Thank you very much for your valuable knowledge 🙂
I just went and looked at your most recent videos. You're so much more comfortable on camera now. I don't know if you're still using a teleprompter, but for this one I could tell from the start that you were reading. I don't know how to explain it.
I loved hearing about when you sscript and when you don't script. I do the same. Bullet points and outline for UA-cam videos and scripting for online courses. Thanks for the teleprompter info too :)
Great advice and I love your shelf - we're modular shelf buddies.I will channel my inner Horvath on the next outline and maybe do some crop in and crop outs between all my random thoughts and when my voice randomly cracks or my throat dries out or my cat decides to meow in the middle of the shoot.
Hey Amanda, I love this topic. I do a bit of a script/outline combo but think best on the spot so I often paraphrase a lot and find it easiest to figure out exactly how to say it in the moment as I'm filming. But an outline is definitely a MUST! Cheers.
That’s definitely what I’ve settled on too! It can sometimes make it more challenging in the moment, like “oh shoot - where did I leave off??” But I like how much time it saves!
I turn the camera on and just speak. It works for me. With my videos scripting would not be authentic. I'm a spiritual based channel. I'm not new to sharing in front of people so it's not something I'm new to. I do write out what I want to say though, but I don't look at it during my filming. It just helps me to have a good idea of what I'm going to be talking about. I could tell you were using the teleprompter, only because I know what the difference is, but I think you do a great job at speaking on camera. Well done
That is a great point about the need to script. It’s a fine line between being natural and being succinct. I tend to ramble if I don’t have at least an outline. I’ve never actually scripted anything start to finish, but, since I’m a hiking and fitness vlogger, a lot of the content is loosely structured.
fantastic topic on how to read a video script. I really appreciate it as always. It's been a year since I made a video from the disruption of the covid 19. I've severally followed your videos and see how consistent you have been. thanks for keeping us posted.
This is great info! Using a teleprompter definitely cuts down editing time! Plus you eliminate the ummms and dead space that can come along with just winging it. Thanks!
@@LawJolla You know what they say about great minds! If you find anything on being more dynamic and sounding less lawyerly while using the teleprompter, let me know!
Great vid and great info. I am about 5 video's deep into my new channel and I have done 3 so far that were scripted and read on a teleprompter, cut my takes drastically. Before this, I was still writing scripts, but I was trying to memorize as much as I could and a 5 minute video would take me close to 100 takes AND about 3-4 hours to shoot. Once I read from a teleprompter, it takes me about 15-25 takes and about 1 hour to shoot the same content. I also agree that the hardest thing at first is just getting into a comfort zone being infront of a camera. I will try outlining next to see if this cuts down on my takes and shooting time. Thanks and good luck with your channel
Amanda, your pupil draws the camera lens attention with magnetic force, imagine if you were using slides instead of script, you would be hired with youtubers and present you as their camera, some would fail to make eye contact with you because you're excessively a natural nature in front of camera.
Loved this video Amanda. I’m just getting started on UA-cam and trying to grow two channels. As a podcaster, and someone who always talks to himself, transitioning to video isn’t as raw but still a new skill set to be learned. I came to your video based on deciding about using a teleprompter or not. Thanks for the great information. Great pacing without all the common fast pace glitch delivery style.
Glad it was helpful! I'm actually in the midst of enrollment for a program where you get access to me for 8 weeks via office hours + a step by step training program that teaches you how to create high quality videos on your own. I'm closing down enrollment this Thursday but if you're interested, I'd recommend taking a peak! I only open this up a few times per year. courses.amandahorvath.com/diy
You won't believe me but I was thinking about how to start a UA-cam channel for BookReviews and how to record videos for it. I had not searched anything related to it, still this video popped up and I felt as if YoUtUbe had read my mind. It was very helpful, I will send the link to my first video whenever I make one🌸 Thank you my Dear Guru🙏
This also really helps with in person presentations in general. I used to have a script ready, but becoming more familiar with presentations just knowing the material and winging it from there have just become what I do since you'll just ramble on and on
Okay, right, thanks for the description, I have just got the software, I will try it very soon. it seems to have everything I need, and yes, Your amazing dialog, towards this product did outline everything it has, your awesome Amanda, well done.
My initial videos did have a lot of jump cuts because I was doing just a few lines at a time as you suggest; I discovered that I could usually cover it up by using the "smooth cut" transition available in Davinci resolve.
Loved this video! I had a lot of trouble memorizing scripts and it was always a disaster. Since I'm planning to start an online course, I was looking for ways to read the script and I think I'll follow your suggestion and will buy a teleprompter. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
Really enjoyed your clear delivery. Very hard to tell there was a tele-prompter involved, so that was really great delivery. My videos are so far unscripted but I think through my theme a lot before hand, so I have an idea what I want to talk about and the direction to take it in. So far, so good - I think... Great tips. Thank you!
Nice video! Great info for those starting out or wanting to streamline their videos. I totally agree with what you have here. If you are one-man-banding your videos, you'll save time by knocking out a script--especially if they're smaller in scale. If you've got a lot of info to record, and you're used to presenting that info, then an outline will save you major time. It's up to us to find the right mix of efficiency.
Good call... it's crazy how much I know about producing videos. But I'm a nightmare on camera myself. IT'S THE WORST!!! This is what I'm working toward it now and I cannot wait to start recording, but I need need so much help talking on camera. Thanks for making this video!
I'm just getting started. As a security blanket or perhaps training wheels, I'm using a teleprompter that I found on Amazon for $50 with either the Nano Teleprompter app (which was updated a few days ago and allows live syncing with my google drive) or SmartPrompt Pro (which uses voice recognition so the prompter follows my voice instead of the other way around). The voice recognition in SP can become glitchy but when it works well it allows me to make natural thoughtful pauses or even go off-script and pick up where I left off. Thought your followers might like to hear about these products.
So glad to hear that! Have you watched the quickstart guide to video yet? I can't recommend that enough if you haven't yet! www.amandahorvath.site/quickstart
Beaaauuutifullly explained! Hahahaha, I knew nothing about all this and I've been having nightmares on how to make a little video to promote my business. I would love to be able to just outline it and go from there but at least now I know that I have options. I'm terrible on camera when I'm trying to be specific, but now I see probably many people struggle with the same. You took a ton of weight off my shoulders!
i like the "deliver in chunks" tips a lot, there is a piano teacher that called this method the "deep section method" you basically repeat the same section 7 times in a row without a single mistake, if you do make a mistake then you restart which force you to do it properly and make it sink properly before you you move on to the next section i'm preparing a project and i was pretty afraid of scripting because i felt that it might not feel naturally but this video really helped :D
Quality over quantity. Pros always use a script. And just so you know, the newscast is the last part of the newscaster's day. Guess what he's involved with the other 7 hours? A most excellent video. I hope more content creators heed your suggestion. I'm most certainly will.
I've only just started making videos for my business (and finding it slightly overwhelming), this has been incredibly helpful, especially the advice on small chunks and cuts! Going to start shooting in 4K now.
To be honest, even shooting in 1080p is fine. Most people won't see the difference when you crop in. But if you're shooting on your phone, you may as well do 4K! Consider me a guide on your journey. Hi Amanda, very helpful video. What I actually did: I made a software tool to mirror-flip powerpoint files. I also use a small bluetooth remote to switch from one slide to the next. So I can use the slides for my courses and presentations directly in the teleprompter without writing a separate script. That lets me speak free of a script (and not reading), at the same time I don't have to memorize the copy. so for me the best solution :-)
Love the tips Amanda! Thank you for sharing. I find it quite expensive to be honest. There are also teleprompter apps these days, free to use. Helps out a lot, save you a few hundred bucks.
Hi Amanda, new here. I was looking for how to film with a script and your video came up in search. I'll have to try to set my iphone in 4K and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!
Great video, totally resonated with a lot you said. Especially about scripting taking hours. I managed to get a few videos done recently with scripts but working towards the outline approach. What I don’t like in the end result are my shifty eyes 👀 as I’m reading the script. I use PromptSmart from my laptop positioned near the lens but still does have that “look you in the eye” vibe. I’ll probably check out that parrot 🦜 teleprompter. Thanks
I had no idea my phone could even record in 4K. Thank you queen of tips
I didn't know either. Even my vintage iPhone SE can do 4k at 30fps.
Me neither!
Hi Amanda, it is impossible to detect that you are using a teleprompter. You convey the impression of being supremely confident and supremely knowledgeable. I particularly like how you maintain eye contact throughout. Impressive.
ditto that. Most folks would not think you were using a teleprompter, only that you are very confident in what you are saying. Nice goin'.
This was EXTREMELY useful. Appreciate the effort you put in making such amazing video😊
Wonderful 👌 I've learned something from this video. Thanks much 😊
Outlining, zooms for jump cuts, batches of sentences, all very particularly useful tips.
Yes I can tell you are using a teleprompter, it's the spacing between your words and it felt more clear, in a rhythm and concise but its best when it comes to how to and information videos. Great video, thanks
Well said
Yup
No you can't tell she's using a teleprompter. You can tell her speech is even and consistent and you surmise its due to pre written copy since most humans don't have speech that consistent and fluid.
@@krane15 yeah, I think you are correct on this one!
Only because she didn't stumble through any of it :) I'd be all over the place!
Great video! I find using a teleprompter with an outline super helpful.
So....you have the outline itself on the teleprompter; great idea!
just got the app, its so helpful
Yes, that'd be the way to go
I guessed you use the Teleprompter only because your delivery was so very polished in perfect.
This really helped me.. I've been writing scripts as a young UA-camr... I definitely using outlines now. Thanks for this. I have subscribed.
Thanks!
Thank you for your sound advice - much appreciated :-)
As for your question about noticing the use of a teleprompter, the answer is YES - I can tell you're reading since you continuously fix your eyes on the camera to read the script.
The script for this video itself is impressive. The flow is well organized.
7:29 minutes of time well spent great refresher for guy getting back into this stuff after 27 years. Thank you excellent work very pro.
I need subscribers and watchers. Never give up on your dreams. Strive for success. ua-cam.com/video/zXrY-NNvh4c/v-deo.html

Really enjoyed this video, Amanda! No, I couldn't tell that you were reading off a teleprompter :) How long does it take you to script your videos vs writing an outline only? Is scripting + teleprompter faster than outlining? Thanks for your work! New sub :)
Nice video with great tips. I can’t see you reading the lines so that’s good. I use a teleprompter for my vids as well. Can you tell?
Watch this next (trust me -- it's real good!): www.amandahorvath.site/quickstart
Do you have a tutorial on how to make a youtube video with your computer's camera?

So good

Thank you for this! Filming my first videos for a course this weekend and feeling NERVOUS! I’ve decided I’m going to go line by line and edit using zooms like you did in the video. I like how that kept the visual interest & distracted from the cuts. Thanks for the help!
I thought of writing a script and thought of even memorizing it. It seem like a lot of work so I ended up just wing it lol 🤣
I like to do my videos natural but sometimes the script is the best option
But you can avoid the "uhm, ah, okay,". The natural ways of talking.
Phoenyx Academy sure
It’s pain in the ass lol.
Me: Wanted to know how to read naturally.
Brain: Listen to that amazing voice 😂
You can just use an online telepromter
Thanks Amanda, I've been using a tablet Setup behind my webcam, but can only use it when I'm a picture-in-picture while screen sharing, otherwise it looks way too obvious, so this was very helpful. Thank you!
Anybody else feel like they were having a staring contest watching this video
Ahahaha that made me laugh out loud! =D
She's staring right into my soul. It makes me highly uncomfortable!
HAHAHA
I appreciate her honest and warm gaze, personally
Not at all. She comes across very engagingly.
You are too cute, nice and smart to have only 11.1 K subs. Good luck!
Agreed! She's a hidden gem!
(No hetero 🙏)
As a musical artist I don’t usually have to shoot scripted videos and for livestreams with fans I usually use outlines, mostly because they involve interaction anyway.
This is what I call high quality content, so much info in such a short period of time! thanks
- Reiner
Interesting. I am imagining myself creating better videos after this.
Yay!! So glad to hear that.

Bruce Yako
24 FPS is the framerate we BEGIN to see a series of pictures as a fluid motion.
Very well made! Thanks for sharing your insight! Thats a cool teleprompter that you have ! 😀
You're So Cute!!! 😍😍😍 learned a lot...
I could not tell you were reading this at all! Such helpful tips yet again. Thank you Amanda.
This is honestly one of the best advice videos I found. Very consise to the point and a lot of tips I've never heard before!
Rewatched this video to stay motivated and will stick to my 1$ DYI teleprompter, until I get better in front of the camera with the English language 😅
Thank you very much for your valuable knowledge 🙂
Well done
Thanks Amanda for explaining everthing in short and effectively.
Thanks!
... we both randomly landed on this one 🤣
This is amazing content! I just ordered a teleprompter! I'll try both! I think you just saved my life!!! Thank you Amanda!!
You do a great job showing your personality while reading the teleprompter! Thanks for the product recommendation, I will check it out!
Thank you! It’s taken a long time to get here. I was impressed with myself as well when editing 😂
You won't believe me but I was thinking about how to start a UA-cam channel for BookReviews and how to record videos for it.

Thank you my Dear Guru🙏
No I couldn't tell you were using a teleprompter.
Fantastic presentation, smart, personable, and helpful.
Much love.
This also really helps with in person presentations in general. I used to have a script ready, but becoming more familiar with presentations just knowing the material and winging it from there have just become what I do since you'll just ramble on and on
Perfect 👍 it definitely is a skill worth mastering in many areas of life!
Okay, right, thanks for the description, I have just got the software, I will try it very soon. it seems to have everything I need, and yes, Your amazing dialog, towards this product did outline everything it has, your awesome Amanda, well done.

Done!
My initial videos did have a lot of jump cuts because I was doing just a few lines at a time as you suggest; I discovered that I could usually cover it up by using the "smooth cut" transition available in Davinci resolve.
Thank you for sharing! I always question wether to use a script or wing it! Definitely couldn't tell you were using one ☺️
Love the tip about recording in chunks, and perhaps covering the joins with the 4K zoom, genius... Thanks
Loved this video! I had a lot of trouble memorizing scripts and it was always a disaster. Since I'm planning to start an online course, I was looking for ways to read the script and I think I'll follow your suggestion and will buy a teleprompter. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
Thanks, Amanda. You are a natural in front of the camera.
I watch your channel all the time to help grow my channel and improve my own work. Thanks!
You took a ton of weight off my shoulders!
i like the "deliver in chunks" tips a lot, there is a piano teacher that called this method the "deep section method" you basically repeat the same section 7 times in a row without a single mistake, if you do make a mistake then you restart which force you to do it properly and make it sink properly before you you move on to the next section
i'm preparing a project and i was pretty afraid of scripting because i felt that it might not feel naturally but this video really helped :D
Just started my channel two weeks ago! Your videos are so helpful! Thank you Amanda!
Quality over quantity. Pros always use a script. And just so you know, the newscast is the last part of the newscaster's day. Guess what he's involved with the other 7 hours? A most excellent video. I hope more content creators heed your suggestion. I'm most certainly will.
Just tried my first outline/script combo and it helped a lot. Plenty of other things to work on but it definitely helped.
I've only just started making videos for my business (and finding it slightly overwhelming), this has been incredibly helpful, especially the advice on small chunks and cuts! Going to start shooting in 4K now.
P.s. absolutely using the winging it with an outline approach, I've tried using scripts with previous projects and I cannot read naturally.
To be honest, even shooting in 1080p is fine. Most people won't see the difference when you crop in. But if you're shooting on your phone, you may as well do 4K!

Hi Amanda,
very helpful video.
Thanks
Spot on! Thank you for this video. It's great knowing your journey as it pertains to scripting and teleprompters.
